- More Winter time RVing continues! This time we took our Nexus Wraith Super C to our old stomping grounds of Marblehead, Ohio for a weekend trip to East Harbor State Park and to the Marblehead Lighthouse State Park!
We ventured to our old favorite restaurant, Cleats and even drove by our old house which is up for sale Again!
Dave and Andrea from Following The Fitchs decided to creep on us and bring their rig out for the weekend to break in their 2021 camping season.
We love visiting the water and the ice just makes it that much cooler... no pun intended haha
We were going to be heading South after this trip but we decided to take the Wraith in to get another little upgrade installed, then after that we will be back out on the road to have some more winter camping adventures!

Thank you! I usually don't wear any... If anything I wear tinted sunscreen moisturizer and that's it. I'm a farm girl...I was never taught how to do makeup😂🤷🏼♀️

Hey guys. You didn't miss much at Tampa RV show. Airstream was a no show along with Newell. No more than one group in RV at one time. Weather made up for it.
We are bummed still but glad to hear we didn't miss much. From The pictures we've seen it was almost empty, crowd wise, compared to previous years. We are hoping things will be back to normal next year

Love this area of Ohio been visiting there every summer now for 50 plus years. We actually have a Cleats in Chardon, and there used to be one in Mentor. Love your videos keep them coming.

I'm surprised that you guy's didn't go to the Tampa RV show since you both enjoy looking at the newest RV'S. Plus it would have been in the 70s Lol.
We really thought about it but decided against it last minute. We had a great time doing other things instead!
Actually camping at 20 deg with the right sleeping bag isn't uncomfortable, but you do need to be able to get dressed fast. Let Mike know I passed on the Ghost with the Maxxforce engine, the coach was way too beat up. Keep the good stuff coming Lynn.
Yeah I used to camp in the cold but not that cold.. And I didn't have the proper sleeping bag haha are you still looking into getting a wraith or ghost since you passed on the maxxforce engine?
@@WanderingWagners I've probably narrowed it down to a 2016 Ghost. It comes with the bigger chassis and used Wraiths are really, really hard to find. But, if it's the right deal I might take a Wraith. I'll let you know when I get something.
42 years ago this weekend I lived upstairs at the lighthouse keepers house and watched three foot of snow come down in the Blizzard of 78. We have walked all the steps you did in this video. It is a great place. My wife graduated from Danbury HS.

Oh man!! We can't wait to get out and camp again. We already booked our spot for the Mohican Wilderness meetup in June. Will you be there this year? Paige is still talking about "petting the puppies" lol. Great video too. Very cool a cemetery, that is different. The boardwalk with the ice on top of the water and frost cat tails, that was beautiful. What the Fitchs's....get outa here !!! Happy camping!
Unfortunately, I don't think we will be attending the mohican meet up again this year. East harbor is a pretty cool place with lots of history in and around the park! Hopefully you'll all have a great camping season and year ahead😊

@@WanderingWagners we have moved up here in Oak Harbor and that was why we were in our camper had to stay in it for several months. We love it up here

Exhaust brake, good idea, saves your brake pads. Planning on switching the water heater to tankless like Truma Aqua Go in the near future?
We haven't because ours keeps up and is right below the kitchen sink and shower so it almost feels instant... However I won't say never! We do love to change things up😁
What factors into picking your campgrounds? You've been all over recently. Side note.....our rig should be done this week. Have some commitments for the next several weeks but need to winter camp again
We don't really pick based on anything specific. Usually we prefer places with good hiking over anything. Let us know when you get your rig back and you're ready to get back out!
We camp there at the end of July every year. The first place we go is Cleats. Do not go to Indian Lake SP in the summer. It's way worse the E.H. golf carts running everywhere at all hours. It's nice there in the off season though.
We've done both but prefer both in off season haha I don't mind golf cart traffic myself though. But there wasn't much to do at Indian lake
Ya'll are some hardcore campers! We are in a RV park in Hemet Ca. and I am freezing in 54 degree weather!!
Haha yeah well we are used to it I guess. Plus we try to do a lot of hiking and now e often than not we get pretty hot haha
So you keep mentioning the salt that is obviously caked underneath your RV does your garage happen to have floor drains? If so and if you do this carefully with one of those sprinklers that waves the water back-and-forth you could put it underneath the RV and rinse all that salt off
Yeah we rinse the undercarriage but not in the garage because there isn't a floor drain. We wash it just outside the door
Please, do not let the dog playing with plastic!
When it is coming in his stomach, it will be getting hard, like a sharp knife.
That is that the "moisture" get out of the plastic. The stomach acid wil remover the moisture.
No worries It's not plastic, and we watch them when they chew.

Mike has all his hair! He likes it buzzed. I told him some guys would kill for that head of hair haha I've never seen Mike with a hairstyle😂

It's crazy busy/popular and just crawling with people, cars, bikes, etc. Traffic is at a standstill a lot of the time in summer. We hated the entire area when we were locals because of the tourists. It's right on the lake, close to cedar point and the islands in lake Erie etc. We only visit in the Winter now that we don't live there.
Like doing cleets this time of year short drive for us and not to busy

A jake break. Could you have ordered that when it was manufactured?
A Jake brake is an engine brake, we put in an exhaust brake. But yes we probably could have added an exhaust brake had we ordered this coach from the manufacturer, which we didn't. Luckily it was easy to add!

We have really enjoyed this Wraith and although it isn't perfect we are doing upgrades here and there to make it even better!
When our seasonal was in PC, we used to go to Cleats, a lot. Nothing better than tall, cold drafts and good food. Now that the seasonal is further west, it is a tad too far after a day of walleye fishing in the western basin. We love the north coast!
Cleats is a place we will always go to given the chance, when we are in the area!
does Ohio state parks have sewer hook up?
Yes a lot of the parks have some full hook ups but not at every site.
Those late arrivals are always so loud and annoying. Lol glad you all had so much fun.

I've never seen skunk there funny enough but see probably 10-20 different deer each time I'm there!

It's become our favorite time to camp! Especially now that we can do it no matter the temperature or weather outside!

Thanks! They're mittens with the flip top. I got them at fun feather fur last Winter. They super soft inside and warm. The flip top is great for regulating temp in the gloves and when you need free fingers haha

We usually hate Winter but we're determined to like it... Luckily we are really loving our Winter time camping with almost empty campgrounds!

We never call. We use the online reservation website for state parks
@@WanderingWagners aha! Ok 👍 one more question which loop/area would you recommend for east harbor?
In the Winter only 2 rows in the B area and some in the A are open. Otherwise, B area is really nice which is where we were in this video. The C area is crowded and smaller sites unless you get a pull through or fhu. The E area is nice, A is mostly non electric or smaller unit sites.

I tent camped all my life, felt dirty getting a trailer, until it was 28°..... Not anymore... Glacial grooves are really cool. its actually been chilly here in fla all winter, moatly high 60s, 40s at night for a few weeks ..the lake is still awesome though.
We were tent campers up until about 15 years ago. Now we enjoy warmth inside and dry clothes all the time haha at times I miss it but the RVing is pretty dang awesome. Glad to hear Florida is treating you well
