I am a Mongolian, thanks for the video and the lecture! In modern era, instead of According to Mongolian historians, I just would like to add a little more clarification on that Chingis Khaan's trusted military-genuis Zev-meaning the "Arrow". Zev was not his real name, he was given an order by his leader to kill Chingis Khaan, but Chingis khaan was heavily guarded during the battle field some how Zev managed to shoot his arrow that badly wounded (arrow was targeted his neck artery) the Khaan. Chingis Khaan almost could have died if there was not his another trusted friend who dragged him out of the battle field secretly and hid him until the Khaan (King) finally recover from the battle for his life. Chingis Khaan knew that arrow was extremely accurate despite of his tight guarding and it was a work of highly skilled personnel. Chingis Khaan valued trustworhiness and skills, he wanted to know who was the one nearly killed him, and ordered to find out. Chingis Khaan's general have announced that infront of defeated soldiers , the king wanted to know who wounded his horse neck. (it must have been a shame for his army or famous guards to announce that the king was got deadly wound). A soldier stepped out said" it was not the horse neck that I shoot, it was Chingis Khaan's neck that I aimed and my arrow did hit the target" so you have every right to end my life. Chingis Khaan came out and told the soldier if you agree be my Arrow.
Very interesting and facts I hadnt heard before. Drives me nuts that everyone mispronounces his name using two hard "G,s" instead of (sounds like) Jenghis. Western world has to change everything to suit themselves. We should all be spelling his name Chingis Kahn as it was meant to be. thank you!!
Dude, it's called war, not murder. I highly doubt anyone has ever tried to kill you, or that they ever will. To sit there and study life while never having truly livrd probably is quite horrifying.

1st off Genghis Khan never waged a "Hearts and Minds" campaign but one totally based on ultra violence. he wasn't like the Buddha trying to convince folks by thoughtful appeals. he united the Mongols by violence and it continued to be his main tool in the building of the empire. it should also not be forgotten that the "unity" of the Mongols imploded mere decades after his death as internecine warfare among his family and Mongol tribes broke out again. the whole Mongol “empire” was a predatory and parasitic enterprise from the start. what drove them was in Genghis Khan’s mission statement. to kill people, steal their stuff and rape their women. no grand political vision! no dream of setting up sustainable communities across Eurasia.the Mongols were engaged in their aggression for no other reason than for loot. they had no political or religious agenda motivating them. they had no interest in their subjugated populations except as a source of revenue. they had nothing to offer people but extermination or subjugation. most of the information we have about Genghis Khan and the Mongols is second hand and based on conjecture and speculation. it's not as if a cache of documents has recently come to light showing Genghis Khan’s positions on disability insurance, bank regulation, military spending or civil rights legislation. we don't have the minutes of the Mongol Executive Council Meetings for the years 1216 thru 1265. for all we know Genghis Khan may have been the 1st ruler to establish an air force. a Mongol Air Force is just as valid a conjecture as any of the other undocumented assertions i have read,
Paul Roese, I do not blame for your lack of information and your view that built with hate without reasonably weighing for the historical situations at least on this topic. Wish you good luck with finding balance and logic in your own thoughts before spreading out anger and polarizing.
You guys tried hard to Chinggis look bad!!! They did 100s years, Chinese did, Russians did, Oh don’t mention Muslims from Middle East. We not suppose to say one good word about Chinggis, we not suppose write a book about him. We not suppose to mention his name. But his legacy lived on in hearts of the people. And today people started learning about him based on facts. Not based on Chinese books or Persian books.
