Excellent video on the topic and a great host! People who make excuses like "oh, the earth has been this warm before" don't stop and realize that humans or the crops we need to survive were not alive and thriving in those eras of hot earth climate.
The earth will survive climate change Life will most likely also survive climate change Whether WE survive climate change, is mostly up to us, and we're running out of time.
Got to love that despite most of us knowing this is awful stuff, the few people who refuse to see it are also the ones paying for all the stuff that causes it
I knew climate change was going to effect us eventually... But I thought I'd be my parents age before it got to where we are now. It happened alarmingly fast.
It's definitely hitting some folks way harder, like right now as I write this comment. I've been seeing "record highs" in a lot of headlines all over the place. Where I live it's really, really noticeable and really, really bad. The US southeast is "supposed" to be hot and humid, sure, but not 111F every day for a week!! We have trees dying from too much heat and not ENOUGH moisture, which is something I really never thought I'd see in this area. And I'm not sure how anybody's alive in Phoenix AZ right now >.> And you are VERY right. We have to get every human on Earth to work together if we wanna solve this as quickly as humanly possible... sad to say we can't even get people to stop shooting at each other much less agree on climate policies.
I'm saddened that we're still split politically in the acknowledgement of climate change. We really need a global effort to combat this issue but it looks like it's going to be an uphill battle all the way.
I love how Crash Course weaves in themes of the other Climate series into this. Also this video can be added to the Environmental Science curation playlist!
Yep, but "neither of them recognized the increase in solar heat by CO2 and water in the atmosphere, which was unique to Foote's findings." according to Wikipedia
That was surprisingly not terrible. I've never watched this channel before, because I am an engineer and these things are generally too, well, general. The presenter is great, the graphics are good, the data - little as it was - is sound, but I was most surprised by the obvious links between the ability of our planet to sustain life as we know it is only due to the Earth's natural greenhouse effect. That's pretty refreshing, and not often brought up In these micro courses. Well done!
Big countries like America, China, Russia and so on need to do more. If they don't start reducing the output we are not in a good position. The little countries like Germany, Sweden and so on can't handle it alone

I’ve said it many times, the Industrial Revolution is where it all went wrong. Imagine how peaceful it would be if we had limited industrialisation, not technology but heavy industries.
The issue that I have seen has been that most climate activists go after their fellow man rather than the governments and companies that are doing the most damage. You can't expect creatures of habit (humans) to change their diets overnight or at all. You can however hold large corporations accountable and force them into changing their practices and invest in carbon recapture.
It is brutal self interest. There is good reason why conservatives mostly believe in zero sum game theory. They do not care, are interested, or believe in common good. There is nothing sensible about that, just one political force representing egocentristic and sociopathic people.
Why hasn't anything al gore said would happen come to past...n I've never been in a private jet so I'm sure my carbon footprint is smaller than any company or politician ...maybe the ppl in charge should practice what they preach...I'm sure af1 isnt even a green/eco friendly airship
Gore isn't a climatologist, who cares what he thinks? Predictions published in journals have been remarkably accurate. Get your science from the scientists, not enthusiastic laypeople.
Because Al Gore was a politician and not a science communicator. Yes we should be putting much more pressure on corporations or governments than individual working class humans. None of this actually makes climate change not true.

Yes. It’s because of all the Stuff people buy.
They put the blame every body and then they go shopping.
the nr1 polluter is the US military, good job Americans!
Yes, the big company owners caused so much damage

I really like his approach at presenting. Hope to see more videos of him.
Of him or with him (as the host)?

The green house effect was originally hypothesised in the 1820s by Joseph Fourier, some three decades earlier than Foote's experiments.

I am in love with your teaching energy❤

Russia is no longer considered a "big" country. Germany and Sweden both have greater influence on world politics at this point.
Big facts here !!
Germany is sadly backsliding back to coal. They got rid of nuclear power and obviously Russian gas.
It’s because of all the stuff people buy.

Thank you for your clear explanation ❤

Great stuff- this is very educational. Really appreciate it!
Cocuklarim cok seviyor bu kanali ❤😊
Thank you for this
Please do a deep dive video on the Sixth Extinction. That’s what people really need to hear.
This video helped me get better in my test 😊
Wow 🎉 very good education videos with excellent animation
Remember to share this with the Fox viewers in your life (and help them with understanding it if you have the patience).
They won’t understand until the famine of a 1.5 Celsius world, and even then,….?
Phenomenal video

When is the cells episode coming out???
This makes me want to vomit. It seems illegal to destroy our plant, I guess if ur rich enough u can do whatever want 😔
I see the Lavar Burton influence
Please do a video explaining how the governments of the world's massive geoengineering operations effect the changes in climate we're seeing.
So corporate power just doesn't exist in your sad little worldview. Bad bot.
eight billion of any species is going to have an effect on its surroundings

This is such an informative video!
Very important information. Thanks for not making it about the hats 🎩, jolly good, eh wot!
Great video, applause to the speaker!
I feel smarter

Activists do all sorts of work regarding governments and companies, you're just less likely to see it because it doesn't involve you.
If that was possible it would have already happened.
The Activists just spent 60 years doing what you said but it didn’t work.
individualism
not the furbies 😭
We need these companies to start not putting so much into lur atmosphere
Yeah but corporations need to kill the entire biosphere to make line go up. So oh well.
They won’t stop as long as people keep shopping.
People needed to stop shopping decades ago.

CHANGE is better words than warming as in Ireland our weather is certainly not hotter but wetter

Sammy- love ya guy. But… in the intro you said “make energy”……
Eh….
Can't wait until Earth becomes Venus with its runaway greenhouse effect.
What will happen if there's no carbon dioxide
I like him
I though C o2 is what plants breath?
Isn't water what humans drink? So, by your implied reasonning, an excess of water is impossible, people just cannot drown.
@@franckr6159 Yeah thank god I never drowned whenever I drank an excess of water.
😌😌😌
Sooooo . . . explain Mt. St. Helens. That happened kinda fast.
Someone forward this to Xi!
US THAT A JOJO REFERENCE
Of course climate change is real* but the way we communicate about it is steeped in political sensibilities that date back decades

What I do t understand is why very cold winters are considered weather but hot days are considered climate change.
Electric cars👎
PLEASE BE VEGAN, IT IS A MUST.

:)
I will respect that you refuse to eat meat and products made from animals. Please respect that I do.
Every time a vegan tries to control my life I buy another pack of bacon
That does nothing. Just a way for people to feel important and better than others.
How many times did you fart per person to save others from theirs?
