I totally agree. Unfortunately so many people go for people who will make them money instead of talent. Pity really. Having said that, there are still some good people who strive for talent over commercialism. The way I see it, as long as there are people like you and I who listen to good music, there will always be a demand for this kind of music, and we can rely upon bands (such as the Heavy) to give us what we love. =]
They're pretty famous if you think about it. Short change hero was on Borderlands 2 and on Strike Back, and How you like me now was on the Ted Advert. Also 27,300 people have listened to this so far and it's not even on the Heavy's official channel. Songs like Short change hero have 2 million + views on a non-official UA-cam channel.
I'll bet I'm older than most listening to these guys (63) but they are just awesome. Took me awhile after seeing the Kia commercial to get around to looking them up, but I'm sure glad I did. There is just too much crap out there for this not to be at the top of any chart.
@7santarick There is no age limit when it comes to good music! Have you checked out The Heavy on the Late Show With David Letterman? It was an awesome live performance. Letterman could hardly contain his enthusiasm and asked the band for an encore. I loved it!
Yeah, i know what you mean. It's unfair that the Heavy are, comparatively, underrated. But also i'm quite glad that they are less popular than other crappy bands because if they were getting 100's of million views then other bands would try to copy the Heavy's style of music and it would ruin this great genre of music.
It is just siiiiiiick how they start picking their way to building the narrative along with the music….. I wish… actuallly I just typed and deleted a thing I don’t deserve, but I’m a spiritually clean sense I must assert: these folks fucking rock the nonsense out of ya dang
Because it is cheaper to sell music made by people like Justin Beiber as it targets the younger kids; the ones who are just getting into music and are so easily influenced. On top of that, there is also so much commercial potential with those kinds of people, whereas with good bands like The Heavy, it's only their music that will make the producers money. Or at least, that's how it appears to me. It's not right IMO, but thats just the way it is.
In comparison to the popular artist today, they're not even the slightest known, that being my original point. Yes, like the other honestly good bands they have their selection of loyal fans (as myself, you and those 27,300) but that's not my point. My point is that the reason why the common people, a.k.a the people who's taste of music is (questionable) more nicki minaj, justin bieber and well... Miley Cyrus.., is absolutely unlogical. And that it sucks that skill is defeated by sponsorship.
I agree, they are awesome. But, no offence, I don't really see how your age comes into it, really. Good music is good music, and if it fits what you like, then you will like it. I am 16 and instead of listening to some of this crap out there today, I listen to things like The Doors, The Clash the Kinks and so on, some old stuff, some new, simply because it's what I love. What I'm trying to get at is, if there is one thing that is not age/race/gender specific, surely it must be music.
I've seen them live 3 times and they were the best show's I've ever seen!!
one of the best bands i've come across in a long time! Raw, pure, awesomeness!
omfg, I love this
I CANNOT understand why the fuck The Heavy isn't famous. They're the best fucking band EVER

@BILLFMX unfortunately no, this song seems to be rare i can't find any lyrics...obcure shit -shit i
i kind of like the fact that they are not huge and mainstream. i dont think they would like that either. just my opinion.
