Glazing with Pen' Lens 1

- After 12 years of working in Africa it became apparent to us that a machine was needed that could cut spectacle lenses in areas where there is either no electricity supply or the supply is so poor that it is unable to cope with the standard equipment available on the market. Ian has therefore developed a small portable lens cutting machine that runs off battery power which can be charged using solar energy. During our recent visit to Kinshasa the Pen's Lens was the only machine that worked and we were able to make around 60 pairs of glasses during our short visit. This video is a training video to prepare our students how to use the machine which is entirely manual and requires some practise. This machine is still under development and should be ready by the end of 2015. Cost will depend on demand but the machine uses high quality components and in small volume costs around $3,000 to make.
nice and clean !!!
I like this
Sorry to say but that's the most worst edger I have seen in my eyewear carrier, it's better to have a basic single stone manual edger for budget shops and fitters. In all I would prefer auto edger for slightly more price is way worth than this type of machine.
Where can I buy?
