- It was quite an honor when The Academy of Western Artists approached me to create the program cover for their upcoming award show. I've been working to create a unique figure carving design featuring Will Rogers and wanted to share a few tips on how to achieve this look when carving a portrait.

I am amazed how without any colors, you make this so realistic and recognizable. Thank you Jim Linnell for sharing your skills with the world, and all you have done to further leather craft. I heard you tell your life history and story about leaving an 11.00 hr job to take a 2.00 one and follow your love and dreams in leather craft. You are such an inspiration to those of us just starting out. Thank you Sir. I wish that someday, I could be just half as talented as you are.

@@ElktracksLeather I've tried double stamping on an offset with mixed results, makes a great 3d, but also tears up the inside flattening what you didnt want double stamped
