Love me my Bob's. Just like most of the GH flakes, super high quality and flavorful. I don't understand all the hate towards Folklore. I picked up a lb. and it is outstanding! Really unique and tasty- definitely not floor sweepings. And it stays together nice and solid in the jar.
Good morning and Happy Saturday my friend. I did manage to pass on this years Folklore. I do think it has improved with age. But it's going to take me a long time to finish that jar. I liked the Presbyterian Ordained and ordered a few more tins to cellar. With this blend, I find that when I smoke it my concentration level seems to improve. Whether or not that is the actual case, it's hard to say. I do like what SG and G & H do with Latakia. Have a good one, stay warm.
Man, you just about killed me with those little look at it's. They were so much quieter than the usual ones. That's one thing I love about your palate. I can always count on you to be unrelentingly honest. I have some of this on the way because, why not? It's nice to try rare tobacco. I'm sorry if you've mentioned this, but do you ever do revisit videos? Thanks.
Baaahhhaaaa yes I’ll make sure to amp it up louder today . I do revisit vids as well it’s fun to see age difference in blends and see if your palate changes
@@beans316 So you really didn't love this? Not enough perique huh? Oh man but the blend is so good! I'm a newbie though so I'm still exploring. This was my first lakeland and I love it already.
Very rare I reach for Latakia anymore, I had some of the plum pudding Christmas spirit and it was good 👍. Gawith makes alot I love though 😊 I still have my folklore from last year, I was gonna let it age. I picked up the mallard flake and Mallard with perique looking forward to trying those they got high praise
Had to pause and check whether I still had the packaging for last year's Folklore. Sure enough the descriptions are identical. Soon as I got the first batch I cut it into 2oz squares and jarred them individually. Finally gonna try it now that it's got a year on it. I've only tried the Sam G CH flake so far but I'm hoping to pick up a tin of Bob's soon
I have some Bob's I smoke on occasion. It's pleasant. I'm looking forward to that Presbyterian Ordained. I too am sitting on a couple tins and never tried it yet. Looking forward to that video. Maybe I'll wait and try it then.
I rarely smoke chocolate flakes. I'm glad you are doing a review on it. I didn't get the Folkore, but I did get the Eccentric & the Ordained. I like them both. Thanks for sharing..........Jose
Thanks my friend I bought a bunch of Gawith & Hogarth stuff to review, I have a funny story tomorrow about the first one I opened wow about knocked me on my butt
Evening Brian, i used to be addicted to this stuff (still have good amount cellared but have not reached for it in years). I used to smoke vanilla creame flake, mac baren honey and chocolate and this one when i wanted to have that latakia kick to my chocolate, this do age well. I also love their hg louisiana flake which have cocoa topping very similar to stone henge from gl pease. I passed on the floklore nothing is peaking my interest from these releases and sutliff too just because it does not sit well with my palate/tongue. Its cold in here too, stay warm my friend
My friend is there anything you can recommend I can buy online or at a store for my dog his ear seems infected the inside is all red and he’s holding his head sideways the local vet can’t get him in for at least a week any recommendations on anything to help him ?
@@beans316 how old is he and how much is his weight and is he on any other meds right now and is he itching his ears with his legs or just shaking his head
So I have the Samuel G version with about 7 yrs age on it. Never tried it because I doubted I’d appreciate it. Guess I’ll let it sit some more for now.
I’m taking advantage of a sunny morning 47F here in Vegas as I’m watching your video sipping my coffee on the patio with some Peterson Early Morning in a cob. Going to hit 66F today. First time in a few months. Cheers
I'm with the other guys who love Bob's (it's a regular favourite of mine) but moreso with some time on it -- I'd agree that the bulk stuff seems better than the tin.
I was told at my local shop that this years Folklore had more perique than last year. For what that is worth. I didn’t get it this year. I’ll be working on last years pound for awhile.
I love bobs but it's so much better with age IMO... It gets creamy and smooth over time.. Also I feel like the bulk has more flavor vs the tinned like some of their others
I'm smoking 2006 version and some fresh one. Not a lot of difference, however the aged version has more round and full taste. Smell out of the jar is just great. It can bite, if you puff hard on it. Well, that is my take. Be well Brian, Janez
I do really like Bob's. However, I actually prefer the Sam Gawith chocolate flake because that one is less sweet and has more of a dark chocolate influence, which I find more pleasing.
I bought an ounce of Folklore last year from a tobacco shop. I did not like it. I jarred the rest up. I smoked another bowl the day before this new one came out. It was worse than the first time I smoked it. Needless to say, I didn't buy any. I am interested to see if the new one is different.
One of my favorite blends !!
It’s definitely one of my favorites from them so far along with Brown flake unscented
Love that outdoor view, Brian. Absolutely beautiful. Have a great weekend. Best, Gary
Thanks Gary yes it’s very scenic in front of my house and the backyard view
I’m currently smoking some Bob’s CF from 2016 and it is amazing…rationing myself (pairs with hot chocolate wonderfully)
Haha nice that sounds amazing
Was it the bulk or tin and can you please elaborate on what happens to it? It's already so smooth and amazing out the tin.

Well that sounds promising I didn’t care much for last year’s release once it was open it fell apart like confetti

I would love to try the Folklore but don’t want that big of a container. Wish they had bulk or a 2oz size to try.
I’m not sure when I’m going to crack Folklure I revisited last years tried it wet and dry still nothing
Great vid Beans. Thanks a lot buddy. Have a great weekend.
Thanks as always
Love Bobs Chocolate flake is on of my favorites
It certainly is a great blend
The crunch of the snow made it sound as cold as it looked. Stay warm friend
Haha yeah it was pretty cold Charlie about 10😂😂

This one is currently a favorite of mine. I think I have a pound stashed away. Thanks Brian!
Sounds like a great plan Randy it is good stuff for sure
I like this blend with coffee every now and again
I really like it also that and the Brown flake unscented are both great

Hey my friend Boswells has it in stock as well as Smoking pipes you can also get it in bulk

I haven't tried Bob's ch yet, but I know lots of smokers like it. I might try some.
I really like it for sure it’s a nice change of pace
Thanks for sharing Brian. I haven’t tried that one yet. Happy smokes

That sounds very promising I’ll have to compare the bulk to tin
You're making me curious, I need to try to grab some of the bulk before it sells out. I got the tin and love it.
Morning Beans. I hear a lot of folks talk about this one but I've never had the opportunity. Yesterday was cold, cold, cold! 👍🔥💨
It’s definitely a nice blend all day smoke for me not really a aromatic it’s like a dark chocolate or bakers chocolate
Hey Brian, which aromatic tobacco should I stray from that is goopy? Thanks!
Haha most of them , the last three I just reviewed are all good ones that aren’t overly wet with all the added flavors
I was told at my local shop that this years Folklore had more perique than last year. For what that is worth. I didn’t get it this year. I’ll be working on last years pound for awhile.

Good stuff!
It definitely is for sure
Hey brother, have you tried Sam Gawith's CH Flake? If so, how does it compare to the one you're smoking?
I've tried them both. I prefer Sam Gawith CH Flake. It's less sweet and has more of a dark chocolate flavor. It's one of my favorite blends right now.
@@MisterDearly- Awesome! What about the blend components? As I understand it, both blends include VA, Burley, and Latakia.
I have smoked it but it’s been years ago I still have tins from 2012 I’ll have to crack one soon

Haha yeah it was very cold out but I’m use to it working outside for a living
As well as I can remember, I thought it was pretty good, but that was several years ago!

Very cool thanks for the info I have many aged tins of Samuel Gawith from 2012 I’ll crack one soon

That’s about where I am with Bob’s CF. It’s good, but there are other GH I like much more.
Yes I agree and I really like the brown flake unscented
I have to say amphora burley was pretty good. I know plenty of people enjoy this one!
Yes that one is one of my favorites
