What fascinates me on all these is the similarity of the Red and Blue Lines, as far as how the tracks were laid out, to the IND subway of New York's subway system - Type II "half-ties" set in concrete. (And good thing there's this reconstruction. At least New York "el" sections have guards on each end of the track layouts.)

@wmbrown6 I haven't looked into New York Subways much bit it makes sense they'd have fairly similar construction practices for the tunnel sections, helps keep things standardized for future maintenance projects and such
