The World According To Garp, first film I ever saw with Mr. Lithgow. He was magnificent, and that was along side power houses Glenn Close, Robin Williams, Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn. Mr. Lithgow wins the internet today with his fabulous sketches and kind presence.
Same, I think? It could have been his role as as a plane passenger in ‘The Twilight Zone’. Either or, totally compelling, equally believable & brilliantly portrayed . I love John Cleese. Such a wonderfully talented soul.
His children’s book with CD on a kid learning about an orchestra is a great gift for kindergarteners. It is obvious his skills and talents are in the arts. He probably sings and plays at least one instrument, and probably danced in at least one stage musical. His talent is amazing!
What an amazing guy John Lithgow is. His portrayal of Winston Churchill was Flawless. I'm English, so that is very high praise. He is a truly talented actor. Good luck 🍀 with the book John. Take care and stay safe 🌈
Jessica Andrews is my grandmother!!! It was such a surprise to hear John mention her name. Thank you for sharing this story. I have heard many stories about you throughout the years John!
I absolutely love John Lithgow, had no idea that people confused him with John Cleese, but those two are both amazing actors. I'm so jealous of Stephen, I'd love to have dinner with John and his wife! Even better, with all four of them, with Stephen and Evie!
Raising Cain for me was a master piece in acting from John. I saw that movie without knowing what it was about and he blew me away. Go watch it if you haven't seen it yet.
Loved him as the villain in Santa Claus: The Movie. I'll never forget his over the top reaction when Dudley Moore's character suggested he give away the lollipops "FOR FREE??!!!" My sister and I thought it was hilarious when we were kids.
Blow Out, The Manhattan Project, The Twilight Zone Movie, Raising Cain, Cliffhanger, Ricochet, 3rd Rock, Dexter, Homegrown, Johnny Skidmarks: The man is a legend!
There once was a fool named t'rump Who wore a diaper around his rump He wears it all day And suffice it to say It always smells like he just took a dump
Great drawing! I love you guys! John-scary in Cliffhanger, funny in 3rd Rock From The Sun, astute in politices. What range! And Stephen-another Brother that did not miss his calling.
I actually LOVE John as Roberta Muldoon in The World According to Garp. That may have been the first time I saw him in anything, and I was hooked immediately!
Except it wasn't his role at all. He appeared brilliantly in that underappreciated genius movie as Lord John Whorfin, aka Dr. Emilio Lizardo. I'll bet not many autograph hounds seek him out for that film.
I would probably say the first role I saw Lithgow in was in The World According to Garp. But, 3rd Rock has the most memories. Just an exceptional performer.
He is one of the most iconic people I can think of in hollywood, consistently a good and progressive person that's also extremely wide-ranged and entertaining at acting. Truly a great Interview, love the chemistry between him and Stephen
I'll be honest.. I wasn't going to watch this segment (because you have to catch VERY FAST link before it goes away at the end)... but... JOHN LITHGOW. I'm so glad I backed up your Monologue so I could click the link. You two had me rolling. Thank you both!
I will be buying this book!!! Imaging Arthur Mitchell meeting Trump in an alley or in a building at night. Ohhhh that hammer lol. Kudos Mr. Lithgow, love your work
Dexter all the way!!!! Although, I grew up on Third Rock from the Sun and absolutely loved it too! But yeah, I'm a disturbed, macabre-loving Dexter fan! And as lovely as you are, Sir Lithgow, you played that creepy part PERFECTLY!!!!! I'm a HUGE fan!!!!
All hail the band!!! Thank goodness you got them online. I love the show, but really - you should have had them on for the past 6 months. Come on guys. I’ve been worried about the band for months now. Keep the band.
There is no substitute for genuine class.

Ditto... Even though I was just a kid, I was struck by how fearless and funny an actor he was in that film.
Same, I think? It could have been his role as as a plane passenger in ‘The Twilight Zone’. Either or, totally compelling, equally believable & brilliantly portrayed
. I love John Cleese. Such a wonderfully talented soul.
Yeah, same here. That movie was so good.

What an amazing guy John Lithgow is. His portrayal of Winston Churchill was Flawless. I'm English, so that is very high praise. He is a truly talented actor. Good luck 🍀 with the book John. Take care and stay safe 🌈
His performance as Churchill in The Crown was outstanding.
I gotta watch that - never would’ve expected that since Lithgow’s WAY taller than Churchill was...
He is a great actor in general, IMO. :)
He's great.
@@tommyt1971 Yes he is but he has managed to appear less taller. Actually you don't really notice his height. You notice him only as Churchill.
I salute you, high commander. Lithgow is a national treasure imo.
John Lithgow has got to be the most beloved man in Show Biz. A huge talent and a huge heart--
Jessica Andrews is my grandmother!!! It was such a surprise to hear John mention her name. Thank you for sharing this story. I have heard many stories about you throughout the years John!

I love John Lithgow, his humor is cry watering. "Dinner in five years" 😂😂😂
Buckaroo Banzai is John Lithgow's greatest role ever
Not the best but good.
Harry and the Hendersons FTW
Except it wasn't his role at all. He appeared brilliantly in that underappreciated genius movie as Lord John Whorfin, aka Dr. Emilio Lizardo. I'll bet not many autograph hounds seek him out for that film.
Maybe not his greatest performance but my favourite file starring John is Raising Cain.
