- Holy Mass and Solemn Dedication of the Altar of the Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (also known as the Manila Cathedral), in Manila, Philippines, part of the Celebration of the 60th anniversary of the rebuilding and renovation of the post-war Cathedral. Presided by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Archbishop of Manila.
Very magnificent physical altar for God may the souls of the Christians in this church shine like this altar and reflect the glory of God.

True. Yan nga ang ginamit na litanya sa Easter Vigil noong Sabado de Gloria sa Quiapo Church.
Maganda sana na sa ganyang Misa na may pagtatalaga ng dambana dasalin ang Ikatlong Panalangin ng Pagpupuri at Pagpapasalamat. At anong problema ng sandosenang nag-dislike nito? Ang sayaw ba sa Virgen Dela Rosa? Hindi ba Extraordinary ang Misa?
Anyway i love this celebration. So festive and solemn. Wish i was at that once in a lifetime Mass.
I think Cardinal Tagle was wearing the dalmatic under his chasuble! Also the pallium as he is an archbishop of an archdiocese. Love these pontifical vestments!
He is entitled to wear the pallium because he is a metropolitan and not because he is an archbishop. All metropolitans are archbishops but not all archbishops are metropolitans coz there are suffragan archbishops specially in Europe
He may be the future Pope.

To clarify things, it is the Dedication of the Altar since the Altar that was currently used was not yet dedicated. The 8th Manila Cathedral was erected and dedicated in the year 1958, and the Roman Rite during that period is the Tridentine rite, hence the Priest faces the altar. Changes came after Vatican II wherein the Priest faces the People. That's why they have to put an altar facing the people. That's the altar being dedicated at that celebration.

@@theman5242 It has a long History din. Actually, di pa yan ang talagang ginamit sa Katedral nung time ng Vatican II reforms. Si Card. Sin na ang nagpalagay ng well-ornamented altar para sa Jubilee noong 2000.
