- so this is my first 2 star hotel or I guess motel food review and it's the Super 8 hotel! they were supposed to have a free breakfast but lol you'll see what happened! I also ate a lot of super 8 hotel vending machine food! I ate there for 24 hours and did a review on everything! I got breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I had so much fun doing this motel challenge! what other hotels and room service menus should I stay at and review in the future? let me know!

I haven’t heard anyone talk about it before and was always afraid to mention it, I lived in motels from 5th grade until after I graduated high school. My mom was a mentally and physically disabled single mom and had us three kids and her in one tiny room, jumping from motel to motel every few months or years. We were very poor and lived on snack cakes and cheap fast food items. It’s ruined motels/hotels for me and if I go on a vacation I prefer to stay in an air bnb. Seeing your reviews bring a bit of fun or hope back for me, though if I’m honest I probably won’t stay in the super 8 I will lean more towards a Marriott :) haha love you and thank you for all you do!

@@BluTheFeralFoxI got evicted in 2021 while I was going through a mental health crisis. I make 63,000 a year and live in my car and hotels on the weekends. Pretty happy though my money no longer goes to evil landlords and I can do pretty much anything I want. Staying at a super 8 right now 😊
As someone who lived in and out of their car along with her family as a kid, I heavily advise you prep a bit more like bringing along a small cooler to keep drinks and maybe some sandwich stuff? Cause we stayed at a Motel 8 up until I was 16 and we had to live off junk food just like you said your family did. It was hard but everything worked out in the end

U took the words right out of my mouth girl&that door lock being broken after he said it was a little rough looking in that area NOPE,not me honey and you know those were cigarette burns so that comforter had ciggy smells deeply embedded🤦🏻♀️bc u know they don't wash those things after every guest in the cheaper "hotels"&when they do wash them they don't do it very well🤮 Timmy is just too kindhearted bc even tho I'm not rich or boujee I still wouldn't have stayed and most definitely wouldn't have kept my mouth shut 😂 I just feel so badly for him bc he went through mishap after mishap just give us a great video,like his commitment to great content and to us is second to none💯🥰

@@MimiNatt89crazily enough there have been lots of studies that more expensive hotels are actually dirtier, they just appear cleaner because you can’t see the germs and bacteria bc the nice hotel is all about appearance of luxury. I’m not explaining this well, google if you want to understand 😂

Please always remember to check underneath the bed and in the nooks and crannies of the bed because bedbugs are so adept at hiding! You never want any hitchhiking. Use your black light on the mattress too. You can check for blood trails and etc....I admire your fortitude so much. I would have been out 😂😂❤❤❤
I respect how committed you were to this video. That hotel was completely drab, stale snacks in the vending machine, ants, grime and dingy, a broken lock, just way too much going on. You deserve luxe! I look forward to you doing a video at the Fountaine Bleu! I speak it into existence for you ☺️

Quick story. My husband was in and out of the hospital for weeks on end for the better part of 7 years. I stayed with him for around twenty plus hours a day. I lived on chilli cheese Fritos and rice crispy treats. So, I feel ya Timmy.

I feel like for hotels that don't have food, you should eat food in the surrounding area. Like you are expected to bring your own food in cheaper hotels. I love this series and cannot wait for more! You are so much fun Timmy!

I agree. You could always do food that is within a short walking distance if they don't have 3 meals for room service. We would hate to see you eat vending machine food again. lol Would love to see a review of Drury Inn, our new favorite hotel. They built a new one near Walt Disney World and another one by Universal and we were wondering how good they were. :) Love your reviews!

OMGsh me&my kids were as well and we lived in a hotel for 10 mos&it was the hardest time of my life but we made it through and it made us such a stronger family unit&believe me we definitely had to rise above bc at the time they were 12,14&17 and we had just moved to a new state&they had just started new schools&knew no one but they were absolutely amazing and so strong&never once made me feel like a bad mom&that meant everything to me🙏🏻thank God we were able to move back home and now they have families on their own&take nothing for granted...God Bless you honey and I pray that you never have to go through anything like that again sweetie🧡🙏🏻 sorry I rambled on

I think next time you should just get food from places near by and just rate the food category 0/10 or something depending on how much food they serve or if they serve food at all! vending machines and random atms are risky and not worth the stress!

I was thinking the same thing. Vending machine stuff for 24 hours made me feel really bad for Timmy. Walk to places nearby. Speaking for myself that would be totally fine whether you drive or walk depending on how shady the area is.

Timmy I salute you for trying to find the positives in such a lackluster experience. If you do a motel review challenge again, maybe instead of only eating the food the motel provides, you could also eat off the dollar menus of the fast food places nearby to the motels and recreate your childhood experiences you discussed during your family's motel stays.

I think if you stay somewhere that has no other food option but vending machine food, I would recommend ordering food from nearby places, because if anyone was to stay there, they would definitely either visit a grocery store that’s nearby and get food from there or eat at nearby restaurants. Also, the black light would probably pick up more stuff on the mattress and bed sheets/blankets and pillows. Those are the number 1 places you will find stuff that is hidden otherwise unfortunately. The item folded against the wall is a luggage rack. You can unfold it and put your luggage on it so it's not down on the ground. Take care Timmy💕

This was nice, but once is enough. No more chain, cheap motels. No sketchy areas. Try a bed and breakfast. Or a mom and pop motor lodge. You don't have to stay in Miami. Go to the burbs, or a small town. Maybe the keys, but bring your partner, the keys are too much fun to go by yourself. Matter of fact, the Guitar needs to be shared with someone too. There is alot of down time to enjoy there.

When I was little... my grandparents on my moms side took me to Ocean City New Jersey or Wildwood every year.
We always stayed at Days Inn motel ( no matter if we went to Ocean City for Wildwood.) All of those Summers... I remember being so excited over staying at the Days Inn motel...Especially going and getting ice with the bucket provided by the motel. ( do all cheap hotels provide ice buckets? Yes?) Oh... and of course I was obsessed with the Coca-Cola machine that was in the same area as the ice. Anyway... I just thought the Days Inn motel was the coolest place ever! Seriously... as a child... I thought it didn't get any better than that!😂
Years later... probably starting my teens... I started to see Days Inn for what it really was... definitely not the magical place I saw as a kid... That's for sure😂!
Anyway... I know that's not where you stayed... but believe me they are very similar.
Also... I give you credit... that Motel was pretty sucky... no I don't mean just because it's a low budget hotel... I mean because of the things you had to put up with. Door that doesn't lock. No free breakfast... Even though the website said it was included. Ants and possible mold ect.
Truthfully... if it were me... I wouldn't have been able to sleep. I'd be grossed out. 💯

Oh man, that hair in the shower would have been a wrap for me. I’m the type of person who would rather deal with it than complain about something but if I know I’m gonna be using the shower, I’d def have them switch rooms to a shower I can make sure is clean. Or just hand me the damn spray and a towel 😅

Dont forget the bedbug checks!!!! Even in the bougie rooms cuz you just never know! My sister got a room somewhere in Miami and had to switch hotels because the beds were so infested.

I think most of us have experienced motels like this at some point in our lives. Makes me thankful my parents always packed a rice cooker and extra food when we traveled so we always had some good food even if there were no options available at the motel. But this place should’ve definitely been at a lower price point. I’ve gotten 4-star hotels at that price point thru Priceline or Hotwire. If you have Embassy Suites near you, please try that hotel chain also. You’ll love their breakfast and afternoon wine/drinks and snacks happy hour. Love all the content and how your channel has evolved. Keep it up. Now go get yourself a decent meal. You deserve it.
If the motel doesn't have food you should review restuarants or food that is within walking distance. That way it can still be a a food review and you might get to try places you wouldn't have otherwise 😊

I also have a period of my life where my mom and I were living in an extended stay hotel. It had a little kitchenette so it wasn’t so bad. Also the dates on food aren’t really expiration dates. They’re freshness dates. Foods, especially processed foods, are good loads past the freshness date. Maybe a little stale but typically not dangerous. Just make sure no mold or a bad smell or anything. Your danger foods are things like meats, fish, unwashed produce, and things like potatoes and rice (typically if they’ve been held out at an improper temperature.
Good for you. You are critiquing it for what it is, rather than unfairly comparing it to a high-priced hotel. However, to be totally unbiased, if you're going to use a black-light here, shine one in the high-end hotels too.
Omg not gonna lie this is lowkey triggering for me. I stayed in a super 8 and lived there for a few weeks after I left my ex and that abusive relationship. And the environment was unsafe and too hostile for me to wait it out living with my ex until I found somewhere else to live. I had to get out of their asap. So I found a super 8 and honestly lived their in misery and anxiety. About what the next steps of my life was gonna be. I sat in that room for weeks with nightmares and even being so scared to be on my own I almost made myself believe I could go back and work it out with my ex. Glad I didn’t though and I’m out of that motel now

That folding thing in the corner under the iron is for you to prop your luggage on. Also, a great place to flash the UV light is on the bed ❤ (fyi. Even in fancy hotels always pull the sheets back and check the bed seams for bed bugs). 😊 I enjoyed your video as I always do.

The green stuff on the concrete is from the condensation from the air conditioners and the rain.
... The bubbles in the drawers of the night stand is from where the contact paper has worn down.
And why not watch the television when you n ed something to do or you don't know what to do? And maybe go for a little walk, when you need something to do and will help with anxiety.

I pretty much only stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites when traveling now. The price is only slightly more than most motels and about 100x nicer. Since their rebranding and renovations, they have smart TVs, USB plugs, and everything is a lot better and cleaner in general.

I worked housekeeping at the Hampton Inn and they are very clean. When I cleaned the bathroom I couldn’t leave 1 hair in or on anything. That’s why that is the only Hotel i will stay in. 🤷🏻♀️❤️

I don't understand the dirt really. Just because it is a budget hotel, it can be immaculately clean. I think that green icky stuff in the puddle is simple algae. The water is consistent enough on that spot for algae to live and thrive 🤣I like how you always stay respectful in these situations and avoiding to hurt anybody's feeling. I think the sell-by dates on snacks that are THAT processed don't mean much. You would have been fine eating a snack cake that was less than a month past its sell-by date. No shade to you, obviously! Just an FYI for everyone so they won't automatically throw perfectly good food away.
