I really like the petros and ta truckstops especially the ones with a restaurants that serve food the more homestyle way instead of fast food.. The kind with the self serve buffets are really good too. And iron skillet and petros in general are one of my favs.
I would love to be a trucker however medically I don't think I'd be passable and I'm not sure if I want that responsibility of all that weight. Way too easy to get sued by someone these days. I love going to truck stops (went as a kid to eat. My dad drove). I'd always buy my CB radios there for my 4-wheeler. Also the quirky gifts too.
Thanks Travis. There are a lot of good pre trip vids out there that I learned a lot from, but ultimately, each company or driving school wants you to learn it their way. If I were to make one, I'd be inundated with "you missed this", "you did that wrong", "you're supposed to do it this way" comments for years. Even the ones I learned from were imperfect, but still helpful.
Hey, JJ. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos (great stuff btw) because I want to come to prime. I notice you mention COVID a lot in this vid, and that makes me wonder, has Prime slowed down their hiring right now due to COVID?
They did during the early lock down, but business is booming right now and a lot of Truckers went out of business due to not being financially stable. Prime picked up a lot of that slack and they're hiring like crazy right now.
Been there many times im getting back into driving in 6-8 months need to have my left knee replaced and a couple other things,im thinking Prime or crete.that lease program at Prime is very tempting cause im single and need very little time off I'm pretty sure I could be very successful there.👍
Thanks Jesper. Not a very good one yet. I use my Garmin dash cam for the crash footage, my galaxy S9+ for most of the shots and a cheap no-name little dash cam for the scenery footage. An upgrade to everything is in the plans.
Overnights are great. These new trucks are super comfy. I haven't used the idle air. Seems like most of them are broken down and not in use anymore. Guess it wasn't popular. Many idle their trucks all night to keep the Ac or Heat going, plus powers the electronics. Others (like myself) have an APU which does the same thing but it's a small generator that turns on and off as needed and uses a lot less fuel.
That is awesome. It's definitely one of the best Petros I've been to. And thank you for helping us drivers. Without Truck Stop workers, we wouldn't be able to keep America moving. You guys are OUR heroes.

New subscriber love the videos. Don't know if you covered this already but could you do an in-depth video on your pre trip? Thanks

Great rewiew! I wish you can see truck stops in Europe, bether ones have showers, restoran and parking for like 20 trucks 😀
Wow. That's how it used to be out here. So glad it changed for the better.
Nicest Petro I’ve seen. Apparently I’ve only been in the dumpy one’s 😀
I can't say that I disagree with that statement. 😁
According to the big sign over the door, that store has 24/7 SLU.... oh, it said SLOTS. Never mind.
They have those too, out in the parking lot.
😱😱😱 Cobra Classic built CB is still $120 I remember those in Type of CBs in the 90s
Dude, Tulsa Driller! Where u at? Im in Tulsa… :P
It was in Illinois, but they had a lot of Route 66 stuff for their decorations, including the Driller. I wasn't in Tulsa though
Who knew, a truck stop with a slot machine room
Cool

@@JJtheTrucker, excellent! Thanks for the info. I'll be calling a recruiter soon.

Yokes, doesn't sound like fun. Hope it goes well and you can come back to trucking soon.
Like your vids! May I ask what kind of camera setup you are using?

@@JJtheTrucker It sounds and looks good enough, though. That's why I asked. :) Thanks for replying!
How does the overnight stay in your truck. I hear drivers talking about idle air units. Do you have any experience using that

Nah, trying to watch the weight, so I had a salad instead. Maybe next time.

Maybe sober up next time before you post. 🤔
