    Jill, it looks wonderful on you. You can use a steamer to straighten out that curve without ruining the fibers. I have done it several times, to either take the curve out, or to reduce the flip in wigs similar to Alia, or to add a little movement to totally straight wigs. Watch videos by patti's pearls for ideas, and there are several others that are very helpful. You can get a cheap steamer for $25 online, and it helps save frizzy wig hair as well. I did order High Society too, and sent it back only because mine did not have enough hair to cover the wefts on the top in back. The style was just wonderful and effortless though. I wish they would make sure wefts are fully covered in all brands, because this is a repeated problem for my orders.

    That looks great on u. How do u think high society compared to JR Kristen? I love Kristen , but I hate that it doesn’t have a mono part! I have tried kristie, Cameron, haute, and upstage. I like them all but Kristen is still “my” perfect wig /x no part. I keep looking for Kristen with a part 😊! So whatcha think? TIA. 💙

    Would this be comfortable on a 23" head? I've read that Gabor wigs can be big head friendly. Also would you be able to cut bangs into it?

    I think it looks great on you! I am new to wigs and still haven't gotten the courage to go out in them but getting there! That one matches my natural color perfectly and is close to my usual "coiffed" look. I appreciate all your advice and tips and I am working on getting mine to look more natural on me and feel more natural too me.

    I was so excited to see your review of this wig! It looks so good on you!
    High Society has become my new work style (just in this past week). I wanted a non-HD fiber wig, because my winter coats and scarves were killing the HD fibers on my previous wigs. So far, after one week, the fibers are still great!

    I watch patties pearls too. I wonder how she cuts the wig to make baby hairs at hairline. It would be nice if there was a video for that. I love this wig on you. It looks beige blonde on my iPad. Thanks for your reviews.

    • @JillLynnBeautyTherapy
      @JillLynnBeautyTherapy  6 років тому

      I think she doesn't show that because it's one of her specialties, and you do have to pay extra for it. I know it involves steaming. ;) I find the rolling method really works nicely! I have never tried cutting baby hair in...I have seen others do it, and I am not too thrilled with how it looks. I haven't seen Patti's work, though. ;)

    Every wig you put on looks good on you. I have a number of the same wigs as you have reviewed and I wish I could get them to look as natural as you can. They look great. I wish you would make more videos and make them shorter. You give out good information, but my time to watch videos is limited and it might take me a couple weeks to watch a whole video. I appreciate that you talk about your wig challenges and how you resolve those issues. I know that most videos are half hour long, I don't watch those. But, I like yours so I watch them in bits and pieces.

      Thank you so much for your kind words. :) Yes...I am aware of the length of my videos, and how it's not typical for UA-cam. ;) I appreciate you hanging in there, and making it work for you. It's just the way I am...and my channel reflects who I am. I didn't conform to UA-cam 'standards' because...it's just me. I am 52, and not your typical UA-camr anyway. Great video, thanks for your review. That looks very blonde compared to other videos of the same color. It's very hard to choose a good blonde - I'm new to Gabor colors & I dont like anything too ashy. Any suggestions for nice rooted blonde shades in the Gabor range?

    Hi Jill, according to Patti Joyce you can straighten you non heat defiant wigs, as long as you keep the heat below 175°! I think this looks absolutely perfect on you, I agree with time it should fall a bit straighter. Be sure you always store this beauty on a stand to help gravity do it's thing...

    Love this one on you, Jill! Think I'll get one for myself. Mena looks wonderful on you, but was too much hair for me. Have you tried Opulence by Gabor? Jill, have you heard the saying you're your own worst critic? Well, I feel with this wig you're applying that!,,,, imho, That wig is giving you a youthful well groomed, sophisticated impression . The non-rooted looks great on this wig and on YOU!
    The fibers look so soft and natural ,,,right now,,,!!!! Try not to over product this wig ( meaning too stiff) I don't see anything to criticize!!! No, Really!!! I LIKE the slightly curved in look!!! I wanna shake you! LOL Please ! don't cookie cutter yourself! If that's all you want, just get ignite and save your money. I mean no disrespect here! Don't "let yourself get in a r u t!" Embrace this BEAUTIFUL wig. I love you !! know that... ((hugs)) p.s. I could see this wig worn at a Christmas / New Years party and you wowing everybody!!! I wish I could wear this , but I AM too heavy and older (67) to wear this, but boy would I love to try her on, just to see ! yessss I would!
    Now I really mean it when I say "love you" !!! :-)

      Thank you, Barbara. ;) You are so right...we are our own worst critic. I appreciate the feedback, and I definitely don't take it as insulting or negative! This is a very sophisticated, classy style for sure! I do think this style is timeless. ;) Thank you for your kind words..you are very sweet! Regarding product/styling .... I would only need to use product in this wig to keep it relatively under control so it wouldn't fall in my face all the time, and to keep the fly-a-ways under wraps. ;) I agree...it doesn't need much, it's a rare 'shake and go' style. Thanks for watching!

    I have used a straightening iron on regular synthetic wigs even though you're not supposed to. I also had a wig that had that tucked-in look and on low heat and a quick pass over with the straightening iron it took out that curled in look.

      I am quite pleased with my Gabor wigs so far! They do those lace fronts VERY well, and the fibers are quite nice. (with the exception of the Soft & Subtle).. I have to say those fibers felt very different than these on this wig. Maybe it didn't use their 'flexlite' fibers? However, I still liked that wig. Yes, this one is very sophisticated, sleek and classy!

    THanks so much for this review, Jill -- another one that informs and entertains (your musings and style experiments are so much fun!). It looks SO natural on you and very, very flattering! Such a pretty top, too.
    I love that super polished look, but if you like something more casual have you looked at ToB Dylan?
    I've actually been wanting High Society for myself -- I love a go-to classic bob and this looks like a great one. I kept looking and looking at it but I finally ordered Modern Motif on the strength of your review -- actually on the strength of how lovely it looked on you out of the box, lol -- I'm old enough to have a soft spot in my heart for "that 70's look"!
    I have one question about High Society if you have a moment...
    How do you feel about it having no extended nape (I know you touched on it but anything more you can share?) I'm wondering about whether it slides up? (or how you secure it in back?) Also what do you do to keep your hair inside?
    Thank, again for everything you share!

    • @JillLynnBeautyTherapy
      @JillLynnBeautyTherapy  6 років тому

      HI there! Thank you so much for your very kind words! It's very encouraging to read. THANK YOU! You nailed it with 'super polished' that is it! I am not a super polished gal, I think! Haha! I do love this wig...perhaps I need to try and just allow my 'eye' to get used to this polished look? Let me know what you think of your Modern Motif! Your question...that's a good one. ;) I do absolutely prefer the extended nape for a couple reasons. ONE...they feel more secure. Yes, the non extended versions do slide up a bit, and TWO.. I cannot use wig tape on them! SO...what I do to keep them from not sliding up is I will put two tiny ponytails (they are super small because I have such little hair..haha!) as low on my nape as possible.(one on each side) What this does is creates a little ledge for the wig to set over. Keeps it more secure than nothing at all...even though it's not as secure as the wig tape. I hope this helps, and answers your question! I am actually STILL wearing this very wig right now (it's 1am in the morning!) and I just slicked back my hair, did the two ponytails in the nape, and used IT STAYS in the front, and put my wig on...did the hold and press method Patti does over the lace front and WAH LAH! DONE! IT's been very comfortable ALL DAY today! I usually have my wigs OFF when I get home, but this baby has been so comfortable I still have her on. ;) Thanks so much for watching, and for your kind post! HUGS!

    Have you heard of Herbal hair color to cover grey hair. I use a product that is completely natural and COVERS grey. I am not trying to sell anything but I have used this for years and it does not cause breakage or fall out, in fact it makes my hair healthier. I get it from Mountain Rose Herbs. Color intensity is insane, You will think it is a professional quality hair dye.

      HI Raven. No, I haven't... I don't do anything to my own hair these days, so I don't have the need to color it. I am very familiar with Mountain Rose Herbs! I get many of my essential oils, carrier oils and such from them!
