Excited about the multipart plastic minis for BT.
I love that Creative Juggernaut is making these, this is the second time I've run into a mention of this project, but it is driving me crazy that their website is still effectively non-existent. It's kind of irritating to be shown these models and not being able to learn anything else about them.
I understand waiting for cool stuff can be frustrating but the reality is that the Stormcrow review was a pre-production proof, and the current Black Knight is the result of refining their process and is production worthy. The models will be sold through the Catalyst Game Labs store so keep a look out for announcements.
Pop-tart time!
That is one bad ass looking pose. Can see it in a black and metallic paint scheme.
Very nice. This is how i would love all mechs to be.
I understand that pre-built models are very practical to quick start or people new to the hobby, but nothing beats a multi-part mini.
Think of a omni-mech box with all of the options in it, you could even magnetize it as to not waste the extra parts
Beautiful mini, here's hoping CGL Store pricing/shipping not too unreasonable for international buyers
My favorite mech never looked so good! Thanks for showing it off, though it just makes the wait that much more painful.
So cool we are getting the clan buster variants:) , thanks for showing us the new goods , always like the content this Chantal makes.
Thanks, we're happy to do what we can.
These seem to be coming along really well. I'll definitely be re-posing those arms but excited to get my hands on these bad boys.
This will definitely be one I put on my list.
Miniature is great. Love to have it on my shelf.
Just started taking my first steps unto BT so your videos have been super helpful!
Fantastic, Welcome to the game!
Dig it gotta have it Jackson!
I miss the weekly uploads :(
This thing is wicked
Such an awesome model, I wish it was available right now!
Hopefully it will be available very soon, CGL has them in their warehouse now so it's just a matter of time before they are put on the webstore.
@@CamoSpecsOnline Aaaand it's gone. :(
@@AlexanderEddy you mean the first 300 are gone. More on the way.
@@CamoSpecsOnline Excellent, glad to hear it
The pewter Marauders from Iron wind metals would have benefitted from notched joints, would be like going from single heatsinks to double freezers
If Catalyst is getting into the single, multi-part plastic miniature niche, then how will Iron Wind Metals be affected? Maybe save this question for a Catalyst AMA. Thanks for the Preview!
For now it seems that Creative Juggernaut and CGL will be focusing on the unrepresented and new mechs that IWM wasn't making anyway. The TC variants for example are quite recent and IWM is still getting through the metal releases of the earlier box sets prior to the Clan Invasion designs.
I'm having Voltron flashbacks... "...and I'll form the head!!!"
I may have literally been thinking "Form feet and legs!" while deciding which left leg to use.
@@heavygauss It doesn't help that the model comes with a potential Blazing Sword too...
The MW4 version still looks the coolest.
Yep, this mini is great, but looks more like anime than BT.
@@TheElevenbit
Agreed. Much of the BT charm is that even the most humanoid mechs look like they're the worn-out the walking love child of an 80s muscle car and a main battle tank. This thing looks too flexible by half.
Why are there shaped joints rather than ball and socket? Its plastic so is no big deal to alter them to fit how the buyer wants but just adds a step.
I suspect because it makes it easy to assemble it solidly. At some point after I shot the video and before I took the still photos for the end, I dropped the mini onto a hardwood floor from about 4 feet up and none of the pieces came loose.
Is there any other variant to the right arm? I really would wish for a bent version. It looks like it might be a bit difficult to cut it up and reposition but at this point can’t really tell. Other than that I’m really hype for this one :)
There’s no alternative right arm. However the Catalyst regular plastic release from wave two of the clan invasion Kickstarter will be posed differently so you could swap that in.
@@CamoSpecsOnline awesome. I guess I’ll be getting both then XD
It’s a great model, but mine came with major mold slippage. Going to have to rebuild most of the PPC with greenstuff. Not totally unexpected given the boutique nature of the model, but for the price a little QC would have been appreciated
Some were definitely not the best cast parts for sure. Hopefully the next iterations from whomever C-J partners with for minis will have the QC on lock.
I am severely worried about limited quantities and scalpers with this. I want one badly.
Thankfully the BT universe is small enough we don't suffer from scalpers that often.
@@ShroudedSciuridae You've clearly never looked on Ebay for the Unseen mechs, Marauder II going for 75-150+ regularly, etc. Hell people selling "Blue blisters" for 25+ even if it's a regularly available. Or people listing the new KS products for two-three times retail because they have it in hand. We have just as many scalpers as any other hobby out there.
If I understand correctly, they intend to produce a good number of these. In my opinion, it would be pretty silly not to... it's a good mini of an iconic mech.
I want this model...is there a particular browser to access their site with or is it just not up for sale yet?
The miniatures produced by Creative Juggernaut will be sold through the Catalyst Game Labs online store. When they're made available, you'll have a hard time missing the announcments. :)
@@CamoSpecsOnline Thanks for the reply. I hope that to be the case as my ability to miss things I'm interested in and should have noticed borders on legendary.
Anyone know when we can put the orders in to purchase these?
They'll be sold through the Catalyst store so I imagine there will be a few announcements regarding them but we don't have a definite release time yet.
Cool mini. Not a fan of the pose with the right arm at that angle.
What sort of plastic was this done in?
It's a type of cast plastic, I'm not sure of the material and Creative Juggernaut hasn't stated. I think they're still trying out a few types to find which works best for retained detail quality over time with mold usage.
So the assembly is incorrect, I just learned about this today comparing my clanbuster against the one from the wave 2 comstar lance pack and looking at the 3d rendering of the black knight from catalyst, the pelvic joint in the assembly vid is backwards, you want the split panels in front.
The clan buster Black Knight as well as the Stormcrow Creative Juggernaut both differ slightly in minor details than the plastics from CGL and the artwork. In this case the hip section on the Black Knight has an armor panel on both front and rear of the pelvis over the vertical split. They may have changed this with the production Black knights as all of the ones currently shown on camospecs.com as well as the versions in the videos here are pre-production samples.
Is there a hatchet? The BL-9-KNT Clanbuster variant had a hatchet not a sword.
In the early days a Sword, Hatchet, and Axe were all functionally identical. The BL-9 was introduced in Tukayyid (1994) and we didn't get Swords as separate equipment until Master Rules (1998).
The art depicted it holding a sword, but in the fluff and rules they said it was a 5-ton hatched that was shaped like a sword. Think of it as being like a cleaver
As others have mentioned, the sword-like object is the "hatchet". Sometimes in the art the BL-9-KNT weapon is shown more like a sword, and other times (like in the Black Knight "Ian" mini) it looks like a hatchet. I think at one point MFUK make a cleaver-like sword attachment for the old Black Knight mini. Anyway, I view it as part of the new Battletech art style, but that's just my opinion.
Who sells this model?
They're not officially out yet. I don't have much info, but they're in tight with Catalyst so I expect they'd be available wherever the Kickstarter minis ultimately are. I'll see if I can find out more.
When ready for retail, they'll be sold by Catalyst through their webstore.
@@CamoSpecsOnline cool. I cant wait. I hope they do a highlander like this too.
