    I know you're busy but a training vlog once every three weeks or month would be sweet. Do you plan on doing a comparison video comparing the talos and avancus? I think it's time I upgrade finally from the Reebok TR.

      Yeah I think a video comparing the two would be more in line vs a straight up review and having to make 2 videos.

    Hey Brandon, are you technically a full time UA-camr or have a day job and work for home? If so, curious what industry you work in.
    You inspired us to get our home gym (copied your aesthetic with the white and black). I myself work from home/hybrid (we go in the office 2x week) in the Corporate Real Estate industry and working on my at home workout times. I plan to do some morning workouts, maybe a cardio session over lunch and a heavier lift session at night. Open to insight on how you plan days while working at home!

      For DL today I used the Eleiko IPF competition bar. It's a good bar, but would never recommend it to anyone, even those who compete in the IPF. It has a list cost of $1200 and is bare steel. I bought this one 2nd hand for around $750 I believe.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  9 місяців тому

      Funny enough, they didn't sell them when I bought mine. I made a video that called out the flaw when using the brace plates and how it makes the feel really uneven so I made a video showing how to fix it by putting in wooden inserts. A few weeks later Rogue started selling them lol.

    I feel like I'm falling off a cliff when I squat down to hit the box but I know the box is there so on each rep I just go ahead and sit down, rock back, then rock forward and stand up. Some people call this a rocking box squat but it is the original and real box squat. Just touching your tail and standing up is not the real box squat, it is a modified one.
    Maybe you know this but most people get it wrong.
    In other words, one is supposed to rock back when doing a real box squat because this breaks up the concentric and eccentric chain and one has to overcome inertia to complete the rep just like pin presses with a one second pause on the pin.
    Without the rock back on box squats, one uses the stretch reflex and momentum to stand back up and that is not helping at all to get s person strong.
    I'm sure you already know what I'm saying but there might be one person that reads this comment and he/she will learn something that did not know or that they had wrong ad there are a lot of coaches and fitness people who don't really know much but they act like they know all.
    You are not one of those, you are one of the knowledgable ones and a good guy.

    What brand is your power rack? Did you go from Rep Fitness back to Rogue?

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  10 місяців тому

      This is a Rogue RM3 that I then expanded to a 6 post, so we usually refer to it as a RM5 as a true RM6 has a 43" inside depth where this one is 30". At one time I had both the RM3 and PR5000 from REP going. It was a great rack, but I just liked this one better.

    What's the perceived benefit of a pump pre workout for a powerlifter?

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  10 місяців тому

      Ingredientwise, the good ones will still have things that I'd take with my normal caffenated pre, like citrulline malate and beta alanine. In addition to that my routine does still have traditional hypertrophy type sets built in at the end. Lastly I just enjoy them 😅

    • @BasementBrandon

      WS box squats are a different exercise to me. You take much wider stance and sit down and back on the box. This is going to focus more on the hamstrings and glutes. I'm using these as a way to better train depth.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  10 місяців тому

      These all vary in waves depending on where I am in things, but generally speaking I typically squat 2x a week (often times using a variation of the 2nd time). In terms of working sets I'd put the weekly number around 6-10.

      There's prob 5-6 inches between the frame and the wall. Even if I use a deadlift bar there's still plenty of room. Platform is about 100" wide and even the longer deadlift bars like Kabuki are 95".
