Nov. 13, 2023 TOLEDO VS GONGAZA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FULL GAME

SPOKANE, Wash. - In the regular season home opener, Gonzaga exploded on offense to defeat Toledo, 91-70. This was the first game against the Rockets and the first N7 game in program history for Gonzaga women's basketball.
Yvonne Ejim led the team with 22 points and nearly had a double double with nine rebounds. Kayleigh Truong had a career-high 21 points with Brynna Maxwell also scoring 14 points. Eliza Hollingsworth recorded a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bulldogs (2-1) went on an 11-0 run in the first quarter to take a 27-23 lead after the first ten minutes. Ejim and Kayleigh Truong led the team with eight points apiece. Defensively, the Zags forced five turnovers and grabbed eight rebounds compared to Toledo's (1-1) six.
The Zags scored 17 points in the second quarter to extend the lead to 44-31 going into halftime. The Bulldogs were shooting at 52 percent in the game with Ejim scoring 19 points and grabbing a team-high six rebounds.
The Bulldogs scored 27 points in the third, led by Kayleigh Truong's 11 points. GU shot at 69.2 percent from the floor and an incredible 75 percent from the three-point line. Gonzaga only allowed one three from the Rockets in the third as they scored 21.
GU closed out the fourth quarter with another 20 points with a balanced attack of eight players scoring for the Bulldogs. Gonzaga held the Rockets to a 37.5 shooting percentage in the final 10 minutes while also still dominating the boards with 13 rebounds compared to Toledo's seven.
Overall, Gonzaga led for the entire game and shot at 54 percent from the floor. The Zags forced 13 turnovers and scored 15 points off those miscues. The Bulldogs outrebounded the Rockets,43-29 and scored 32 points inside the paint.
Records: This marks the first game with two Zags scoring 20 points since Dec. 31, 2022 against LMU. In that game, Ejim scored 24 and Maxwell contributed 22.
Kayleigh Truong had a career-high performance with 21 points. Her previous best was 20 points against Nebraska.
