Idk why you just can’t use your Crunchyroll login to access Funimation content on their site and vice versa (I just tried and the fact that it didn’t work was upsetting considering they’ve merged? That seems like it would have been the easiest first step right?
My main question is when are they gonna roll over the anime that's exclusively on Funimation to Crunchyroll? I keep going back to watch my old shows that I used to live on funimation and yet they're not on Crunchyroll. And they're not making more seasons so it doesn't make sense that they're not on Crunchyroll at least to me.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. For example, Steins;Gate is streamed exclusively on Funimation. Even a year later and I'm still not able to watch it on Crunchyroll because it's still not there.
Got an email telling me to move to Crunchyroll because Funimation is moving everything over there. And now I still see Funimation is still up running and asking for subscription. WTF IS GOING ON. I am thinking of getting rid of both accounts

Crunchy roll is complete trash. I thought with this merger it would be an over all better system. Honestly not surprised seeing how Sony will throw around money over actually perfecting anything. With funimation it was a smooth system and never had one issues… Been using crunchy roll since the merge, got the free 60 day scrip was good for a month and ever since it’s been nothing but loading issues, playback issues, app constantly crashing issues, dubbed issues where it doesn’t even line up with what’s going on, there’s even some issues where the caption stays on screen even though I don’t use them, constantly having to close the app out and reload hoping a show will play instead of a black screen and only sound playing.. Funimation was by far better, still not impressed after all this time. Unfortunately what else are we going to do at this point…maybe things will get better but after this long it’s highly doubtful, never ceases to amaze me how big companies always get rid of the things that work and bring in something new that’s trash…These issues are like this across all platforms, maybe Sony will drop more money on Black mailing other companies before actually fixing their own bs first.

What grind my gears is the fact that a lot of the Dubbed content is still locked over at Funimations site. Example: Dragon ball Super. Makes me feel like that they are just soaking up double subscription costs.
What gives?! A lot of Dubbed anime that I have watched on Funimation only appears as Subbed only on Crunchyroll? Are these guys cheapning out? I hate that Funimation (Betamax) and Crunchyroll (VHS) couldn't get the best of both worlds with a larger Dub studio. Maybe with time.

I still have my Funimation account. Mostly because of laziness, but I also realized they still have show on Funimation that they still don't have on Crunchyroll. Why is that? That's one reason I don't want to switch over. But now I might switch soon because the server for Funimation been sh*t. The app always been freezing while I'm watching to the point I can't watch anything. I was always a Funimation over Crunchyroll guy, but I try Crunchyroll again because of the freezing. SideNote- Hulu has a lot of good anime, and their server is easy to use. It'll give Crunchyroll a run for it's money if they don't be careful.
This reminded me of an issue I am surprised no one has really gone into yet. On Jul 30, 2022 Big West the owners of Macross announced Macross 7, Frontier and Delta series would be released by Rightstuf and Nozomi Entertainment. Not long after this Crunchyroll purchased Nozomi. Worth noting that Crunchyroll are handling Robotech. If you don't know what Robotech is... Essentially it is a series that used three anime including Super Dimension Fortress Macross. The rights issue with Super Dimension Fortress Macross outside Japan is a huge mess. Tatsunuko helped with the anime so have localisation rights and gives it to Harmony Gold for Robotech. Which makes me suspicious about reasons why Crunchyroll would buy a company that just announced Macross releases. What makes this really suspicious is that Sony are doing a live action Robotech movie. Having had no updates of the Macross series releases makes me wonder if companies are trying to block Macross franchise from releasing globally.

The reason to get Crunchyroll is for the new shows that are airing now plus the new dubs none of which are going to appear on Funimation. So if you want to keep up with Anime seasons and be watching the latest and "greatest" then you should have a Crunchyroll account by now. but yes there are still some hold outs that haven't transitioned and it would be nice to get some clarification from Crunchy of when the new end date is supposed to be and when the rest of the hold outs will be moved.
Ahh so Crunchy Roll teamed up with the Us Government that wants to end anime in the US. Crunchy roll was always the garbage of garbage, But i'd bet a multi billion dollar conglomerate bought it, If it wasn't one to begin with. Well anime is pretty much dead in every place but japan soon. So IT was nice while we had you Anime. I didn't mind paying funimation every so often but Crunchy Roll oh hell no. I think the only reason funimation still exists is because on certain smart tvs and devices there is no crunchyroll app like on my samsung tv you can get funimation but not crunchyroll but both are on my ps5. Even weirder, I have a PS5 connected to my TV. I have Funimation app on the PS5 (which outputs in 4k and up to 120hz) and the TV, which obviously is capable of the same. For some reason, the quality is MUCH better on the Funimation TV app which is like "Funimation Now" or something. The frame rate is noticeably higher and the graphics quality is also much better. Why does the app on my PS5 not put out the same quality and frame rate? All the settings on my PS5 are set for the highest quality picture and the TV settings are the same in both cases. Doesn't make any sense
Crunchyroll recently (finally) rolled out its new UI on at least Apple TV and Xbox can't say for sure on PS5 as I don''t have the app installed on there to check but would assume so. The new UI is a lot more modern and I'm not sure how anybody could argue that Crunchys new UI is somehow worse than Funis UI which is now looking pretty old. I agree though that this whole transition has not been ideal and it has taken a long time to get to where we are with no clear end in site but stuff is happening.
i used to only use funimation bc i always seen that “both subs and dubs” ad on youtube, and crunchyroll ui is confusing asl. i still use funimation to this day because im used to the u.i and i dont feel like lookin for every show in my watch list

I went to rewatch Black Butler on Crunchyroll thinking by their wording that it would be there only the Book of the Atlantic movie is there while seasons 1-3 are still on Funimation. I don't know how you could argue that Crunchyroll is "worse" it has a lot more content (even before) and now it gets dubs too it continues to leap ahead of Funimation in terms of content depth. The website hadn't been updated significantly in about 10 years and the new version of the website had a lot of issues early on that cannot be denied and there development of apps is slow thats undeniable however they have now transitioned the apps they do have; Apple TV & Xbox that I have and checked to the new UI and it is much smoother and nicer to navigate and there isn't any world where I would argue that the funi app trumps the new crunchy app. It has taken a long time I agree and the communication from Funi/CR has been none-existent really since the first announcement but things are happening - just a lot slower than anybody anticipated.

(They will be 6 season 1's with 6 different languages and you have to wait til the end to see what language you are selecting) Then you have the infamous, can't watch with subs when you are watching in English... why?!? Then you can't watch a very good amount of popular animes in english?!?! Where is one piece dub? Ohhhh, Netflix, cool... are they caught up to where funimation is? Nope, not even close. Literally 600+ episodes behind.
@@Troyadvica2472 they are currently in the process of merging the audio options together they literally today just did it with My Hero Academia And all the newer shows are all merged into one video Crunchys video players wasn’t initial able to handle multiple audio streams this is because the site was originally not designed to support anything but Japanese but subs. The shows are now more accurately and clearly labelled sub/dub and have been with all new shows of late. There’s even a warning that tells you that the next episode of a show doesn’t yet have a dub and would you like to continue anyway. Progress has been slow but it is getting better. It’s clearly a company that has been forced to expand its offering very quickly from what it was doing - basic subbing to everything and there have been growing pains but it is getting there. As for the missing content that’s an issue all over the place and my suspicion is exactly what you said when they did it in bulk in the beginning it caused issues and they had to seperate dubs from subs etc. As for Subs on dubbed anime that’s a problem even on blu ray discs its not a new issue for dubbed anime.
The thing I hate about Funimation and crunchy roll is the fact you have to pay just to watch a episode I honestly don’t get why they put a few free eps on em when it requires you to pay for the rest like why not just go ahead and make the entire thing a paid requirement or something like that

Funimation need to figure there apps out. The Xbox app is broken ad hell. The next episode buttons skips seasons. It's just embarrassing how bad it functions being a paid service..
I signed up for the free trial on my ps4 and cancelled immediately because I couldn’t actually watch anything. I could scroll through the catalog, select a show, and then watch it buffer for 10 minutes to play 2 seconds and then start buffering again. Netflix, hulu and UA-cam all streamed perfectly fine

So I used to watch ranma 1/2 on Funimation but then I stopped watching it for a bit, and now I want to continue watching it but I can’t find it on Funimation anymore. It’s not even in my continue watching list anymore. So does this event have anything to with that?

Funimation need to figure there apps out. The Xbox app is broken ad hell. The next episode buttons skips seasons. It's just embarrassing how bad it functions being a paid service..
Crunchyroll’s app is terrible too.
I signed up for the free trial on my ps4 and cancelled immediately because I couldn’t actually watch anything. I could scroll through the catalog, select a show, and then watch it buffer for 10 minutes to play 2 seconds and then start buffering again. Netflix, hulu and UA-cam all streamed perfectly fine

The newer Seasons/EPs for it are out on Crunchyroll however I don't get why older Seasons/EPs are only in sub.
They should have just kept both platforms and let the user choose which one they prefer
