It's a crazy series in terms of overall quality, however in a pattern that's shockingly not all too uncommon. 1. The first one is almost a proof of concept, of sorts, that's genuinely good and charming. Perhaps a little too catered to younger audiences at times, but overall, a movie worth rewatching. 2. The 2nd one focuses almost entirely on the antics of the "haha funny lol xD" side character who's about equal parts forced and annoying, as they are comically valuable-to the point where it's difficult to watch. (The intro did have some pretty interesting ideas and pretty good action shots though) 3. Then the 3rd one comes in SWINGING with a thoughtful and emotional story and overall production value that additionally sucks you back in with nostalgia, referencing stuff from the first film, but still holds its own ground as a unique and tremendous entry into the series.
