  • Sydney's Art Gallery of New South Wales is currently showcasing the profound works of French-American artist Louise Bourgeois in an exhibition titled "Has the Day Invaded the Night or Has the Night Invaded the Day?"
Curated by Justin Paton, the exhibition unfolds within the newly constructed North Building, offering an engaging exploration into the artist's unique perspectives. Paton's curation divides the exhibition into two distinctive sections.
On level -2, the Day section delves into the intricate theme of spiders in Bourgeois's art, unraveling the symbolism and depth within her creations. Venturing further into the depths of artistic expression at the Tank, a captivating historical space on level -4, a mesmerizing mirror sculpture that lends its name to the entire exhibition can also be spotted.
One notable aspect that left a lasting impression was Paton's meticulous arrangement of the pieces. This thoughtful spacing not only allowed the interplay of light and shadow to naturally immerse the artworks but also created a harmonious environment where each installation could be appreciated individually.
Commenced on November 25, 2023, this exhibition promises a captivating journey through the artistic realms of Louise Bourgeois. Set to run until April 28, 2024, it invites viewers to immerse themselves in the evocative narratives woven by the visionary artist.

Great exhibition, beyond explanation, just as she herself indicates - chaos. Superb video rendition. Exactly how the experience is.
