@@leehayhurst9052 yeah movie theater application might be fine but for live sound reinforcement not much. Also I think you might wanna look at more efficient options especially if it’s for home use
@soundfreak8892 these are more efficient. I was using a crown macrotech 3600 before. I'm not a fan of class d amps. There dynamic range, limited damping, and smps power supplies just don't do it for me
@@leehayhurst9052 Lol well that’s a way older technology that is no longer used but crown macrotech sounds amazing and are built like tanks especially the old ones like the one you mentioned. The mackie amplifier stuff is just toys but like I said for the theater setup I can see it working well enough. Crown makes there amazing crown xls series which is super efficient sounds great and can take a beating. At a church I used to go to I was underpowering 2 jbl sr4718x per side with an older crown xls 1500 and the thing would do great I would redline it very hard at times and it would survive. Only twice did it stop passing audio on me for like 8 seconds because I got to excited and well I had to remind myself I didn’t have the juice. But crown is still very good as well as class h with the traditional transformer in them.
Yeah it’s fine but just wait until you hook some subs up on these things they suck!
I'm using 2 of them to drive 4 peerless stw 350f 15s. And they do just fine for the movie theater.
