  • The final day! Again, we got to drop bags and travel pretty light, since we were starting at Eric's house and Heather picked us up at the end.
The final day of the parkway did not disappoint. We hit Mt. Pisgah early, got rained on, then cruised between 4-6 for 30 miles. The views off of this section are huge and very rewarding. About 28 miles passed Mt. Pisgah you crest the highest point on the parkway 6.053ft. Unfortunately, it is not all down hill from there. Another 8 mile climb up to Waterrock, then one more small kicker before the massive bomb down into Cherokee and the coveted mile marker 469.
What a cool trip. Emily and I actually did the parkway in 2017 but with a BOB trailer and at a much more casual pace. Doing it CC style with Eric was an awesome way to put a twist on an already traveled route. Plus, it was great training, Eric and I both had a blast, and we are already talking about more CC bikepack adventures. Thanks for watching!

Great series. Love that Parkway ...all of it. But the North Carolina part the most! :)

We came from Waynesville and I have a photo alongside that highest elevation sign with one simple difference, a Chevy Silverado instead of a gravel bike.

This was such a great series to watch! After I graduated high school (back in '89) I rode from Boston to LA, and the highlight of that was the BRP (I think it took me about twice as long but also I was hauling waaay too much stuff). Lots of great memories here, thanks for making this video!

Eric seems like the best bike-trip buddy! Even when "cracks appear" 😂👍
