    3. Create content instead of consuming it
    4. Detox: follow people who add value and positivity to your life
    5. Be mindful: prioritise spending time with family and friends

This is so amazing. I do too so many times and this helps. Being a small time mommy instagrammer sometimes it just gets too overwhelming. What helps me is to think what really matters. My family - my husband and my 3 year old daughter, my parents, my friends and thinking about these people grounds me again.

I think that's part of the problem, that many people don't know it's not real. And the fact that you continue to present this made up perfection on social media makes you a part of the problem. Some "influencers" are so insecure, they don't know how to be real anymore. Do you think people won't like you or will unsubscribe if you show them the real, imperfect you? So many people are not comfortable in their own skin anymore and instead choose to be a part of the fakery. Hope you heal your insecurities and have the confidence to be real instead of pretending to be perfect.

Blue Sky and what exactly is the real me? Could you please clarify that - I will be happy to show it. I do my best to be real and transparent in my communication with my audience - I always remind my audience that my life isn’t perfect, I have shared personal struggles and failures so many times before. How much more real does it get?

@@MimiIkonn Your account is aspirational, not real life. You and Alex said it yourselves many times before so not sure why you are so harsh in your comment and want me to clarify. I didn't make it up - you said it yourself in this video - "your account is a vision board" and a highlight reel. Not everyone's is. I just think this contributes to a lot of issues attributed to social media these days. Lots of young girls and people in general feeling a lot of pressure and inadequacy over something that's not reality. You've talked about this in the past. Somehow it's ok when you say it, but when someone else says it (essentially agreeing with you), you get defensive. You are a part of social media.

Totally agree Mimi, my phone is always on silent, because I just don't want it needlessly bleeping all day. If I've missed a call and it's someone I want to speak to, I can call them back. And it's my pet peeve when someone your having a meal with puts their phone on the table, because that's like saying you can have my attention until my phone rings And that's exactly what they do, you end up listening to their call. I just think it's really disrespectful to the people who you are meeting up with.x 😄

I agree with "putting your phones away" especially when spending time with family and a loved one. My ex of 5 years was like that. Whether we were at home, at a restaurant or out-of-town, he was always on the phone calling/chatting with his colleagues even after he just left the office. Lol. So, I agree that social media should be used in a positive and healthy way.

This is one of the highest quality videos I’ve seen on UA-cam. Fantastic tips, no wasting of words or my time. I will share this widely. My friends don’t understand how hurtful it is when they visit but leave their phones on. Those alert sounds really stress me out too, and you can never really get deep into a conversation or topic because you have to always be ready to have it interrupted and suddenly your audience is on a completely different topic known only to her. It makes me give up on trying to really discuss anything deep, and that leaves me feeling more lonely than if I’m actually alone. Social media and the iPhone have really had an impact on my relationships. But it is both negative and positive. I just wish they’d show me the love you show your daughter, be really being here with me when they’re with me. An iPhone left on says to your friend that they are second in line for your attention. And that hurts.

My biggest challenge is because of life circumstances I have not had a chance to make a life for myself until now at 33 years old and feeling like I have no idea who I am and where to start to even figure that out. It seems that I am behind and so have tried overcompensate by over-researching or whatever for about five years now while just feeling more and more desperate. Thank you for this well made video. The five strategies are somewhat relevant, but, however, there is one that feels a little bit absurd. Number three: to create content instead of consuming it ... The creator cannot just create content and throw it into some kind of void where no-one consumes ... the creator and consumer are both just two sides of one and the same medal. So it looks to me a bit absurd to dissuade everyone from consumption and then on the other hand incite everyone to go on and create ... Basically, minimizing use of social media as a whole, both creation and consumption, seems to me the key advice. We're turning into a species that stares into a virtual world while the real world is getting prepared to go up in flames. By constantly following others' stories, you might loose track of your own mission, or get even more confused than you already are. The web becomes a gluey trap where guru's and content creators of all kinds are competing to tap into other people's time and energy, to have each their own herd of followers. It may become at a certain point a serious obstacle for the authentic deployment of one's true original self.

It’s very easy to talk about social media consumption when you have over 1mln followers, but for most of us - content creators, it’s impossible to to grow your following if you don’t spend time there. Unless you buy all your followers... so I get your message, however it’s definitely not applicable to those who want to EARN or make a living from social media. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lina Zent I would obsess more on the content you create - rather than consuming other people’s social media. You don’t need to know what others are doing to be successful- you will end up creating what already exists.

Mimi Ikonn This is an interesting reply considering you only create what already exists. Every single thing - hair extensions already existed, 5-minute journals and productivity journals already exist, coconut oil and dry shampoo existed before yours. All the quotes you post are complete ripoffs you never give credit to. In fact, I can’t think of a single, original idea that you have come up with. What exactly have you created?

Mins is not even on vibrate, the only notification is the iPhone ringtone when someone calls.
There's screentime option on the iPhone to turn off all apps for a period of time, for example 7pm-8AM. except for weekend it's 9PM-10AM

I disagree a little bit - I think many people may feel like unfollowing you on social media beacuse the way you present yourself is so perfect, so in a way you might be part of a problem and evoking negative feelings. People feel connected to real life and it's nice to see sometimes, that your inspiring, successful creators are just like us. It makes you more emphatic as well.

@@cf3129 Not necessarily fake, but yes - curated. To the point that you can feel a little bit sad about your own life and then decide to unfollow. Life is life and has many shades, it makes us dimentional beings. Do not be embarrassed of who you are, Mimi, and that will be truly inspiring ♥️

I just walked out of a room with my girlfriend and are whole conversation was about how I am grateful that my child called me and told me about my twin grand-daughters starting their first babysitter today and that one of them split her chin open falling this past weekend . THEN I saw post about these occurrences . I would be upset and feel totally different if I saw those post first before I spoke to my child .I didn't give birth to Facebook . I'm not going to communicate that way with them either .It's fun but you can't let it replace human contact and your relationship s.

Princess Patriot this is so true - nothing can ever replace human contact and personal touch that comes from intimate communication.
