I used an Aerogarden to grow kiwi, it's been over 8 months since I planted it, and the tallest vine is around 6 feet long, hopefully it can survive long enough to fruit :)
If anyone’s wondering, from my knowledge you need both a female and male kiwi plant to get fruit, or else it will only flower. The only thing is, there’s not really a way to tell if you have a female and or a male until it gets older.
I started in march/April! But if you start growing the seedlings indoor any month should be fine :-) in the winter month you might need a plant lamp to speed up the growth.
What I did was I put some clean kiwi seeds on a moist paper towel, folded it up, placed it in a bag, and let it sit for a couple weeks. I did this 18 days ago and all of them have sprouted!! I would also recommend trying multiple seeds, and writing the date on the bag to look back on. Hope this helps!
We have two kiwifruit vines in the Mediterranean area that last year produced about 100 fruit. The problem is they all have a hard core to the the fruit. At some point we decided that kiwifruit may be similar to avocado in that they ripen after picking because it was apparent they remained hard on the vine. But harvesting and waiting for them to ripen did not resolve the fact that the cores of the fruit were still hard. Anybody got a clue what's going on with our kiwifruit?

That’s true! You indeed need both genders for the kiwi
Can find you find a male and female seeds in a single kiwi, or are all the seeds in thr fruit the same gender?

I found they grow well to a foot or two and then randomly die. I was just using 10 hours a day of natural direct sun 25 degrees anyone tried lamps?

Kiwis need a female and male plant to produce fruit. The male fertilizes the female. It will still take some time to fruit tho
