erdmöbel are releasing a persian version of their song “hoping machine” together with the iranian director and singer niloufar taghizadeh”.
the escalation between trump’s american and iran recently gave the band the idea for a new version of their original song recorded with judith holofernes. in persian, german and englisch.
the song’s underlying message of peace has become increasingly relevant. now it’s completed and needs this mantra more than ever before: “keep the hoping machine running”
a song against all hate, against all forms of imperialism. and a video poking fun at forced identities and sexism: a headscarf is passed from singer to singer, moving from woman to man.
this is erdmöbel making music for acceptance and celebrating the joy of diversity. it is an expression of humanity, and should anyone not feel this in their legs when listening to the “hoping machine”, they can read about it at the end of the video.
the band quotes the musician kamasi washington:
„we shouldn’t learn to tolerate diversity, we should celebrate it!“

und immer relevanter wurde die friedensbotschaft von der hoffnungsmaschine.
nun ist sie fertig und mehr denn je braucht es dieses mantra:
„lass die hoffnungsmaschine laufen!“
ein lied gegen den hass, gegen jede form von imperialismus. mit einem video, das sich über zwangsidentitäten und sexismus lustig macht: ein kopftuch wandert von sängerin zu sänger, wechselt von frau zu mann.
erdmöbel machen hier musik für akzeptanz und freude über verschiedenheit. sie ist ein ausdruck von menschlichkeit, und sollte das jemand beim hören der „hoffnungsmaschine“ nicht in den beinen spüren, kann er es am ende des videos nachlesen.
