There's writing on that little white disc you said to throw away, maybe you should read it. It says to remove for feeding but the other side says use for traveling. I also use it when I make a few ahead of time.
Do not throw away the white ring as it will stop the leak just put it back when you are storing or between feeding. We old schooler use to turn the nipple inside the bottle and place the ring on top close the bottle and put the cap back on. You can do that also just take the vent system out. Remember there is air in it and the air has to go somewhere thus the leaking.
So, how does the bottle work compared to other bottles? What is the purpose of the straw over the top other than "its supposed to help"? This isn't a review, it's an unboxing. It's left me with many more questions. Edit... I'm not the only one who thought you were mistaken in throwing away the white disk under the nipple. That is totally for leak provention in transit.

I have a problem with these bottles they leak and it's so frustrating
Leak while feeding or on the bag? I’ve had them leak while feeding and it wasn’t together right.
right I have the same problem with it leaking. and it is very frustrating especially when baby is hungry.

My biggest conplaint is that it takes 10 minutes to clean 4 bottles if you dont have a dishwasher
