Let's see, in the last 12 months my mortgage one up $280/month due to property taxes (which are up 50% since 2020), my water bill tripled despite no change in usage, my electricity is up, food is up, etc.. while my income hasn't changed. Why would I be happy to vote for any of the incumbents?

And when you consider many of those jobs are second jobs for one person, not two people employed.

When you have to work three jobs to pay rent it probably affects the employment numbers without reflecting how there are over employed folks getting underpaid compared to the cost of living

I felt like I was going insane hearing how great the economy was. I'm working 40+ a week, and paying my bills isn't getting any easier. I have zero belief that my situation will be changing anytime soon, and I fear it will grow worse.

Does anyone know Jill Stein's plan for USA? She seems nice but I haven't heard her stance on the economy, crime,national debt, border, big govt, etc. All I saw her do is get arrested protesting. Al Smith was a mushy moderate and the party moved heaven and earth to get him elected in the Democratic Primary and got squashed by Hoover in the general election because in many ways Hoover was to the left of Smith (Smith only won the Deep South due to the racist vote). I am so disappointed in my fellow Michiganders, the state has been Democratic forever. We pay higher taxes, fuel, food and housing prices than most of the country. Our infrastructure and schools are literally falling apart. We have some of the worst school scores in the country. Our roads, bridges and utilities are failing to the point where people are getting hurt and our property damaged. Kalamazoo has toxic air that is poisoning people. The Flint water crisis has never been resolved nor the people held accountable. The majority of farming and northern rural communities are conservative republicans yet the four major counties continue to vote democrat. We barely have $0.30 left for ever $1.00 me make. This is a state of working poor.

I just don't accept the idea that giving money to people who immediately spend it on rent and nessecities hurts the economy and causes inflation to this degree. We need a real commission on the price gouging going on. We need to open the books of all major companies and show the American people that it only costs them $0.05 more per lb of beef but they are charging $2.00 per lb more and raising it till they find out exactly how much money they can suck from people. The way people FEEL about the economy means nothing. Just like the way they feel about facts or science or math. If you have less money now than you did before and you are looking at inflation as the cause and not the $0.10 raise you were given, the gutting of ACA that saw people drop insurance and how that have raised premiums for everyone else, the lack of effort put in by the government to reign in the price gouging we are all experiencing... I don't know what else to tell you. You're looking at your fee fees instead of the structural laws and regulations being passed since 2016 that have brought us to this point. The tariffs on Chinese and European goods isn't helping either.
I mean, yes, public perception isn't always aligned with reality and we need to look at the data to draw conclusions about the actual state of the economy.
But this is a political segment, not an economics paper. Politics is ALL about public perception and people's feelings.

That childcare crisis is wild. Can’t really understand it until you have a kid. We started searching for daycare when we were 5 months pregnant and the earliest we could find daycare within 30 minutes was 14 month wait and we had to pay a bunch for the privilege of waiting. Austin TX. We’re fine and in very lucky circumstances otherwise, but that blew my mind.

Jerome Powell, the chair of the Federal Reserve keeping the interest rate high, was appointed by Trump in 2018. Biden has been on shoring jobs and passing bills to buildup domestic manufacturing. Would you rather Trump come in and turn that off?

when the jobs are crap and low paid, it doesn't matter if there are a lot of them. we need to look at the quality of those jobs to determine if they're worth it.

I'm currently in the worst financial shape that I've been in a long time. I don't blame Biden for that (or Trump.) There is a way out of it for me, and I'm moving towards that, and I don't give Biden credit for that (or Trump.)

I currently make 3x the minimum wage in Ohio and live check to check. Statistically my money doesn't stretch half as much as it use to. So-called Bidenomics is a complete failure if I ever saw one.
