  • Since 2019, UN Women in partnership with ActionAid Bangladesh, Brac, DCA, and Oxfam, started to work on the project "Means to Lead: Empowering Rohingya Refugee and Host Community Women through Leadership, Learning, and Livelihood" funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The government of Bangladesh, UN agencies, international donor agencies, and non-government organizations have been providing humanitarian assistance to ensure their basic needs such as food, education, medical care, skills development, and peaceful social cohesion between the Rohingya refugees and the host community. The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women's Improvement, UN Women, has been playing a key role in empowering various local organizations to make positive contributions to the lives of women and girls in the Rohingya camps and host communities, promoting gender equality, ensuring the rights of women and girls, and humanitarian development nexus.
