@Yammie Noob - I live in the UK, have been riding for three years and really enjoy your videos. However, can you explain what you mean by "street squid"? You've mentioned it in numerous videos but I have no idea what it means.
One thing that gets overlooked is it's actually listed as a cruiser. So what you're paying on price, insurance will make up the difference. Cruiser bikes are cheaper to insure for whatever reason.
How many FTR reviews does the world need from the same UA-cam channel? Like 27 more!!! They must be profitable!!! Turbo -Busa, Man-scaped, GSX-R Squids, race bike suck at the street, street bikes aren't that sporty at the track, exotic bikes are expensive. There ya go!! Gotta love the Yam!
It’s a problem he’s always had but won’t become obvious til later. Unless he does more builds and starts doing race coverage there’s no way this content can go on forever. It’s not like a random vlogger just filming whatever happens. Also, I thought the same thing. This has to be the 5th ftr comprehensive review they’ve done.
I sat on the new 17" version. I actually prefer the ergos on my Rally. With the Pirelli STRs it grips really well. I've taken mine on several gravel 'scenic drives' here in the Arkansas Ozarks. She did okay. Definitely NOT anywhere near being an ADV, but still more than capable of those sort of roads. It's a FUN motorcycle and I can't wait to see what else Indian has coming for the future.
Having ridden one on a test ride day. This is spot on, the biggest thing though for me was the seat was horrible for any long ride and the traction control on the stock tires is extremely intrusive, Easy enough to fix but at 15K not something I would want to. They are out there with minimal miles for 9-10K all day long and at that price they are a bargain.
I just went down thinking about buying one it was gorgeous. But as soon as I sat on it something just did not feel right. It's hard to describe but it felt like I was just sitting too far forward not comfortable. But the bike was beautiful.
I have a 2019 FTR1200 S and run Pirelli Scorpion Trail II on it. I don’t take it off road, and those tries are great for the street (where most adventure bikes team). That it doesn’t have the most advance sticky race rubber known to man misses the point. If I wanted a sports bike, I would have bought a sports bike. Instead, i wanted a flat track replica that I could ride on the street. If a good functional well behaved bike (i.e soulless) is your cup of tea, buy that MT09 for a few thousand dollars less.
I agree with a lot of what Yam says about the FTR, but I disagree greatly in one point he always makes: definitely decat the bike. Around town rides are absolutely magical with that sound thundering off surrounding structures. Highway rides are different though, requiring ear plugs of some sort.
You DONT need special touchscreen gloves, Indians touch screens work with every glove you would be wearing. Normal leather, cloth, or whatever works just fine.
I really quite like this bikes design and I feel like the ergos would be very comfortable. This will be a consideration for my old man self if I feel like getting a bike this expensive.
Buy bikes with anything north of 100hp the way I do. Wait till the rich guy realizes it’s more likely to kill him than get him laid and roll without the toll.
@@mike-gv2ol Yeah there's a ducati 1199 for sale near me and it's half priced with only 2,000 miles, description literally says "I'm too scared to ride this bike and I'm in over my head" so there's no shortage of those
@@DarkHorseParatrooper deals on bikes are always out there. Just got to expand your search area and be willing to go get it. If you have a trailer and cash ready and a few days to kill you can find a deal.
Ugh....when will the stubby tail section for sport bikes ever end? I'm happy they made this but what I really want from them is an American Triumph Bonneville, a classic style standard with Indian style. They'd sell loads of them. Names/models? A Scout standard and a Scout cafe. Considering making one myself in a Norton featherbed style frame with a used Scout motor if they don't do it in the next few years.
Hey, Guys. Love your videos and have come to rely on them for a large chunk of my moto news. Would it be possible to show a side view of each bike you review, with a rider up, so we could get a good feel for the rider triangle? It would be very helpful, I think, to a large number of us noobs and near noobs. Thanks for listening.
Are you running the stock fuel map still? I runs the Fuel Moto RevB map on my 2019 and it starts down to -4 C fairly easily, sometimes takes a few tries.
@@goooooort Yes, I am which is probably a mistake. I keep meaning to get it changed but haven't done it yet. You really got to be reviewing the new one with the 17-in wheels it's a completely different motorcycle as far as handling. You can't even buy this model anymore with the 18-19 wheel combination.
I have an FTR, but I've been saying this all along. If they made a 750 I think people would flock to it. Probably have to make a base model MSRP around $8,499 though.
I still prefer my 90 hp XR1200. I live about 45 minutes from eagle canyon if you want to take a few laps on your Indian then take a few on the xr just let me know…. Go Busa.
What's it like compared to the bandit 1200, because I find most twins are gutless and you really need to rev the balls off them to get any performance out of them
Save up your own money. Get one anyway. Go small displacement and if you can take the MSF. If there's not one locally, practice safely. It's hard to say no when you already buy it and bring it home.
Let Indaian fall on their face again . Nothing but expensive old technology . Even Harley I'm done with . My 08 Softail Custom is going up for sale . Nice cruiser but not to great pack riding to say the least . I rather ride my 1999 DR 350 .

Probably because they can’t wheelie/people don’t on cruisers
@@jme3752 people you know don’t. People do.
Definitely. My little 2005 Ducati 620 that I bought for $3k was only $20 less per month (so $120 per 6 months) than my FTR is.
My cbr F4i is a "sport touring" motorcycle according to the registration
Cheaper insurance cause young idiot punks aren’t popping wheelies and flipping cruisers over, running them off the road on public roads…
