I forgot how impressive this is.... Thank you
Simply the best, there is no doubt about it!
If I had to pick some others by Eric for possible future reactions I would suggest, “Lonely in the Night“; “Trademark” - there is one best live version. I can get the link later. “Venus Isle” and “Friends”
For more epic guitar I recommend La Bamba, Leyla, Always With Me, Always With You, and of course Jhonny be Good. Me thinks you'll love them.
Eric Johnson is probably one of my favorite players, along with Jason Becker, that can play really extreme but make it sound beautiful in a way. If he ever performed nearby, I would totally get the tickets to see him in person!
I knew Robert Johnson sold his soul. Hadn't heard that about Eric Johnson.
great that you react to this master. didn´t expect that. so great. thank you. stay safe and be well.
his other great instrumentals are: Trademark and East Wes
I think you would appreciate Glenn Danzigs later music such as Satan(quiet version) or perhaps Going down to die.
His songs are normally gloomy and dark, but with a beautiful soul compared to Elvis and Roy Orbison.
Could she be any cuter
Great song, but the tone though!!
nah to many similarities to Steve Via and Joe Satriani never like it
Eric Johnson is one of the most humble low key guy in the music industry (like John deacon from Queen). Great pianist also
I love your videos! Youre so beautiful!
Most people think Cliffs of Dover is Eric Johnson's best. But it isn't. Manhattan is. Yes I said it😛
if you like jazz
I thought the “All About You” solo was fantastic as well
Awesome. Wasn’t expecting that reaction so fast, thank you 🙏 . I laughed out loud at the comment “I liked the part where he played guitar.“ He was big news when he came on the scene. Something new, and it was about his tone and his musicality. Not that you asked but he’s from Texas. I’m happy you got to see him, Elok, as I know you appreciate good musicians. Much appreciated! 👊😄
Not nearly enough people appreciate Eric Johnson . . . you're a good egg, Elok.
Years ago there was a concert tour of some of the very best guitar gunslingers. It was called G3 for the 3 guitarists who played. All instrumental, no singing. Didn’t need it. At the time you could tell it was a guitarist showcase because every guitarist in the city was for damn sure going to be there. The lineup was first ERIC JOHNSON then STEVE VAI and finally just to kick everyone’s ass JOE SATRIANI. Remember that last guy. He is unbelievable and had one of the very best Rock albums of all time called Surfing With the Alien. Remember THAT! I’m so not kidding. Excellent show by the way and just a showcase of pure talent, mastery and creativity from 3 of the best all on one night. I’ll never forget it. ✌️ oh, by the way ERIC JOHNSON is TEXAN. I’ll point that out from time to time. I can’t help it, it’s this thing we have called TEXAS PRIDE. I’m from the south central part of the state almost smack dab in the middle! San Antonio, TEXAS home of the ALAMO and a huge Rock town! All the bands knew about us and came here! It was a hellava time, too much fun! It’s a fact that RUSH and SCORPIONS loved coming here and actually booked extra days if they could just to be here longer. We’re cool like that.
Great choice Elok Hsu, please more Eric Johnson. The song "Desert Rose" is excellent.
Agree, and also Manhattan and 40 mile town
I have this entire Austin City Limits performance on dvd. Amazing show featuring amazingly talented musicians 🤘
Wow...I never see any respect on UA-cam to this underrated guitar legend....thanks for the reaction....another one of his favorites of mine is 'Emerald Eyes'...he sings on this one too and I believe it's a great song to add to your Eric Johnson library.
This girl is good right? Impressive.
You are so right on, with Eric it's all about the tone, and it's so original 🤟
Another fine choice Elok! Yes, Eric Johnson can get some gorgeous sounds out of a Fender Stratocaster. Not surprisingly, one of his albums was titled “Tones”. It was interesting that you noticed his jacket, as it looks like his take on the Hussar military jacket that Jimi Hendrix picked up when he was in London in the mid-sixties (Johnson is a big Hendrix fan). This video looks like it was taken from Johnson’s performance on the TV show “Austin City Limits”, and fellow Texan Stevie Ray Vaughan (himself a wizard on a Strat) recorded a blistering set on a different episode. Other masters of the Stratocaster you might enjoy include Jeff Beck, Richard Thompson, and Rory Gallagher. (Gallagher’s tone was so bright and strident it could strip paint off of a house at fifty paces!) Rock on! 🤘🏻
Awesome to hear some Eric Johnston ! He doesn’t get enough play on UA-cam. I always love his tone and fluidity in his playing. Desert Rose would be another great song for you to react to.
If you love great guitar riffs and solos listen to Megadeth- She Wolf Rude Awakening live 2001 it’s a live masterpiece. Make sure it’s rude awakening live not the studio version
Guitar Player Magazine one called him "The most famous unknown guitarist".
Great guitarist of course!
your taste of musik is awesome👌😆
It kind of reminds me of MSG
Captain Nemo
In a weird way
I don't think I've guided you wrong yet. Three more to consider ,still. All are different. "What Is Life?" by George Harrison. "Conquistador" by Procol Harum (Denmark 2006 version), "I'll Never Find Another You" by The Seekers.
PLAY STILL GOT THE BLUES BY GARRY MOORE #1
The most insane pentatonic playing you'll ever hear.
That commentary at the end was priceless... hahahaha. Love it!
Eric has quite an impressive mish-mash of vintage equipment he uses for his beautiful tone. Very picky and precise, he claims he can hear the difference of tone between different brands of 9 volt batteries in his gear. Add to this his VERY unique approach to the instrument, and his signature choices for phrases.
A tone so clean it kills all germs....😆
Wow. I didn't know him...he's awesome! Thank you!
OH, I like your review. Eric Johnson's playing is second only to you review.
I look forward to future videos you put forward. Thank You.
Nice choice. Eric Johnson fingers always reminds of the facehugger from the alien franchise. Also, watch his cover of Hendrix, in the same show : ua-cam.com/video/77PuXrU6H2Y/v-deo.html
His reputation as a guitarist precedes him, but I didn’t know he played keyboards, as well.
Who doesn’t like this song? Uncultured swine, no doubt. Lol
Love the reaction to this mega talented guitarist. Keep up the good work Elok Hsu, you have a new subscriber and also a libra like you.
So clean.
You really need to check out Desert Rose from Eric, he sings in that song as well.
The jacket is a blouse from a Texas high school marching band.
You should react to the song desert rose, preferably the non live version
Your totally right that tone is amazing, awesome to see younger generation getting into this type of music
Every time! You get a smile and a laugh out of me! Not everyone can do that! You are now on the short VIP list for the Rock Concert Time Machine with your’s truly as your personal guide to the very loud past.
Man! It’s been a while since I heard this! Major points Elok!
And others? No mention of the United States? 👎
If you love this, definitely check out Neil Zaza-"I'm Alright" [Official HD Video] 2013 and Andy Timmons - Cry For You (Ibanez 90th Anniversary).
This recording is arguably the highest quality audio recording of all time. And it was recorded 34 years ago. Nothing has compared to it.
