I'm a city girl that grew up running around on my uncle's farm every wrekend as a kid. We roasted fresh dug sweet potatoes while burning leaves. They were so good! We picked blackberries and my grandma made doobie and pies with them on a wood burning stove. She made sugar cane syrup and homemade biscuits. I remember the hog slaughtering. I love cracklins to this day! It was so much fun just running free and playing all day. These videos bring back memories of simple times. It was so peaceful...
I too hav vivid memories of going to SC to my great grandmother's. The chickens in the yard the hogs the mule and she had fields so we would pick beans and peas. She even had a washing machine that was open and it agitated the clothes then we had to roll them through the ringer. Then it was on to hanging them on the line. We woke up on dark early and worked until 4, ate dinner was dead tired by 8. She'd read the Bible and then it was lights out. It was so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face😂😂😂😂😂

And Tim taught us a Plan A and a Plan B, are not necessarily enough!!🤣🤣 But hey, pigs zero and Tim 2 so WE KNOW who the boss is!!🤣🤣🤣 Love the sound of a whistling tea kettle!! And even though it’s 12:30am, seein that coffee and BAM!! Had to have a small cup before bed!😁 Great episode y’all! (See, I’m learnin the lingo 🤣🤣)

Both families sold their homes in the city … felt the call for a simpler life , homeschooling children and raising as much food as possible for themselves . They both have been at it a long time … but through hard work the Lord has taken them so many blessings . Hollers started out w camper w 4 boys …they gutted a mobile home n now have much larger home. Sow the land started with a tiny farm w a trailer n a large yard …they were from California n did not have a clue how to be country folks. They recently got a few acres farm …w an old house n barns that they have been blessed to slowing redo . Blessings, ❤️🙏🏻❤️

I laughed when Tim said he didn't have a plan C. I used to help my aunt feed the pigs on the farm when I was a teenager, and I was scared of them. My cousins wouldn't eat the pigs we raised but I was happy to. I don't know what kind they were, but the sow was huge. I thought you would have installed your insulation already; it must not be as cold at your house as it has been here. We have been down near 18 degrees every night. we even had a water line bust. It was a hose bib so we just capped it off until spring.

Here is a great idea for you, put your watering bowls in an old tire, it makes it very difficult for the pigs to flip over. We have 4 hogs and they haven't been able to flip over. More blessing in Our Lord Jesus to you and your family

Looks like your hogs are free range…. Depending on where you are a company called Zoetis might be very interested in buying your hogs on a monthly basis. They only work with small free range operations and pay top dollar for the hogs that are free range and free of hormones and drugs.
@@IAGFARMS I’m sorry, I gave you the wrong company. Both of my kids are in the AG business and work for different companies and I meant to give you Niman Ranch and not Zoetis. Niman Ranch buys free range hogs and signs small farmers up on their program. They employ field agents who visit the farms they work with and help the farmer with advice. Your family is Wonderful! Hi Christine, we haven't done the insulation inside the cabin yet. We were able to bunker down just in time for the winter storm, but it warmed up after that, so insulation slid down on the priority list. We will continue to seek the Holy Spirit about what to do when. We want to strike a balance of farming and finishing off the cabin. We neglected so much to get dried in before the first winter storm. Now we can turn our attention just a little bit back to the reason we are here in the first place 😁...and then get back to the cabin....and then build a house, lol. It never ends, but we love it -IAG Farm Mama
