Thanks for the great info sir. I am an ortho from A.p sir.. 2 yrs post pg. I perform less than 50 surgeries per year. I see op about 20 per day and on an average 1 slab per day. Other than surgeries we do slabs, joint injections and op sir. Considering all the aspects we can get better idea sir.
Im from chhathisgarh In our state even a 2 tier city has almot more than 50 orthopedic surgeons Most of them just assisting the big names Im not defaming any branch but i have seen orthopedic resident trained like a military during residency days and when it comes to practice the only a few surgeon takes a major chunk Even the govt vacancies are very less it happens with every branch but i think in ortbopedic it is happening like really fast.
You cannot estimate like this because from 28k there are approximately 10k who are useless surgeon they only know to refer patients i know in my colleges almost all pgs are well trained to only refers the patients and not know more than suturing even they are not able to to do primary management after trauma and i saw one of my senior in top college they are doing nailing, amputation minor surgeries and major surgeries on daily basis it's not about saturation and no. Of doctors it's about quality if you have then you gonna rock on that branch it doesn't matter how many orthopedician in that city and town never estimate doctors on the basis of number it's not engineering aur bsc msc "ek bangali doctor monthly 2 se 3lakhs tk earn krta hai then hm to 6 years marwa kr aaye hain uske baad pg 🙌🏼❤ so don't be misguided on the basis of numbers
I am doing DRNB superspeciality in critical care medicine. It was a tough choice leaving my Anesthesia freelancing earning decent and going back to being resident again with less salary because I always wanted to learn and practice intensive care. Sir what is the future prospect of the branch ? Should I continue?
