Love her, one of the best executions on bars eva! Would love to see your analysis on Victoria Komova, she is of the most talented gymnasts of this past few decades, class and power. As always, another great video man !
That Chinese team in 08 was exceptional. It is always interesting at big competitions when you know the Chinese are coming up on bars and often on beam as well. He Kixin and Nastia got a lot of attention in the bar final in 08 but Yilin was also one of the best on bars at those games. Bronze in the final, 0.1 behind Nastia and Kixin who had the same score. I didn't like the tie breaker there. To me, top score is a gold, no matter how many there are. Yilin should have gotten a silver with Nastia and He both getting gold. Nastia and Kixin and Yilin all had the same difficulty score. Yilin qualified #1 and got the same score in the final. She was exceptionally consistent.
Yes, I feel the same. I have actually done analyses of all three - Kixin, liukin and now Yilin. They are all great bar workers and could could have won on any given day. It my time, they would just give 2 golds to the top if their was a tie. Many people dont like the current system. My best.
For anyone reading, watch Yang Yilin's bar routine from the 2008 French Nats Open competition. She performed the most perfect and difficult pirouettes ever completed. Best pirouetting gymnast in the history of the sport
She was simply amazing. To be honest I prefer her to HeKxin and Nastia. All are good but this form and intricate skill is so good. Her shapes are wonderful
Yang Yilin didn't start competing the tucked double front dismount until 2010 after her back injury and growth spurt made it too hard for her to perform the double layout. She briefly competed the tucked full-in in 2009 but couldn't get it to her feet more often than not.
It's interesting that the 2008 COP favoured pirouettes, including being able to count both a Ling and an Ono, so both Yang and Liukin did that to milk the E values and 0.2 CV. From 2009 onwards only one out of the Ling and Ono could be counted so Chinese gymnasts dropped the Ono and the emphasis shifted to connecting releases.
I did not notice any outstanding issue with her kips or bent arms. She would shift her hands to the side often to center her handstand but her kips seemed normal to me. When she would not have much swing into her kip should would be more aggresive but still, she did fine kips in my view. My best.
she should have won the 2008 bar title. she had the same D score as He Kexin and nAstia and was SOOOO much cleaner

The demonstration of the grip is nice! It’s interesting to look at people with varying amounts of flexibility trying things.

Yes. I was drawn to analyze her bars because she is so elegant with such great execution. Rock on.

Hahaha. Thank you. I got my times mixed up and you are right. She did it late in her career, not when she was younger. Thanks and my best.

Really elegant.
Some fans criticize Yang for having poor kips(bent arms among other things). Would love to get your thoughts. Thanks!
