@@gucky4717 To a degree yes- but in general some cans are flat out superior to others. After doing a lot demos, I wasn't super impressed with any sub $300 cans. Most lacked bass. I ended up buying the V-Moda Crossfade M-100. You should have a listen to these. For the $, IMO anyway, it's hard to find better. Clear highs and detailed mids- and very decent bass! Great for guitar and backing tracks- very versatile. If you're lucky, you might also be able to pick up a lightly used pair on Ebay. For ~$1xx something used- you definitely can't beat them. They are built like a tank as well.
@@gucky4717 I have both HD 650 and DT 880 Pro and can say that sure, sometimes you wish there was bit more treble on HD 650, but HD 650 treble is safe, it never overdoes it while DT 880 can sound extremely harsh in some recordings... Also, while 880 has better highs (if the music is well mastered) and also better sub bass, HD 650 is not as far as you might think... And HD 650 has much superior mid range. When listening to any UA-cam videos I'd much rather use HD 650 cause vocals never sound harsh on it, on DT 880 even some UA-cam videos are nasty to listen to because some people's mics or simply the way they pronounce S makes it sound sibilant. Overall, HD 650 is the better headphone because it does nothing wrong and is overall more detailed due to its better mid range detail. Also in games, it kind of depends, but I find HD 650 to be more detailed honestly, and just more natural sounding overall. Sometimes the treble is indeed bit veiled, but mostly a good kind of veil that reduces the harshness... Compared to say DT 1770, HD 650 has better treble still. On that headphone treble was completely rolled off and had a few sudden nasty spikes at same time. TLDR; HD 650 is better because it really does nothing wrong and can do everything relatively well except sub bass, while DT 880 is more genre specific. DT 880 excels in instrumental music, but on vocals its vastly inferior to HD 650. Flat sound may seem bad thing, until you get used to it and start appreciating the natural sound of it over exaggerated highs and lows so many other headphones do.
@@gucky4717 Because the demo sounds more muffled / dark than in real life listening, i can confirm it easily because i listened most headphones which has sound demos on this channel. DT880 is the brightest one between all of them, HD600 is the most neutral and natural sounding one also the most transparent and closest to the original recording without any coloration but it sounded just muffled / veiled / dark in the demos which is opposite in person like i said... You can confirm that yourself by taking a look at the sound demo and recording tests from Oluv's Gadgets channel, he recorded the music through an HD600 and recorded the recording again with the HD600, there is no any coloration or sound difference between the original recording file and recording of a recording of the HD600 itself... HD650 / 6XX or 660S is really veiled and muffled / dark sounding cans but HD600 is simply very different headphone from all other Senns including overly and unnaturally bright HD800 series... I just wanted to say just don't make your decision before you actually hear the HD600 in person, you will get what i'm trying to say... Also don't forget to listen them with new geniune Sennheiser HD600 pads, any wearing on the pad will make HUGE difference in sound of the HD600 lineup. It can sound more relaxed / laid back and without that much energy in treble area with weared pads also the subbass will gone if the pads are weared badly. Subbass is clearly audible and more than enough with new pads if you want neutral tuning.
I think HD600 can't handle a lot of instruments because of its soundstage? Acoustic is the best on HD600 but modern pop or EDM or even Orchestra with a lot of passages it became claustrophobic like you can hear everything becomes muffled when these music come!!!
The hd600 felt like a Sennheiser veil instead of being comfortable on the ears (disposal), and I've never heard of the akg701, but it sounds too thin. I'm currently using the 600 ohm dt880 (I moved on from using the dt990pro), and it's really blameless. The 990 gave me the experience of my ears getting pierced. (Still, the dt880 After all, it has a high-pitched voice) When I want to be more cheerful and exciting than necessary, I also listen to the 990pro.

HD600 are the WORST for Symphony ! 🥴 It's well known they are great for voices and intimist plays, like Jazz and Bossa Nova....and really crappy for Orchestra. This video has just confirmed that. AKGs, due to their great soundstage and almost flat response, are perfect for those situations. BeyerDynamics are also good...but that treble extension...Ouch ! 😟
hi, I've played the violin for 17 years, and while all headphones were muffled, the hd600 was the best for the Dvorak. This video confirmed that HD600 was the best for symphony out of the three.
@@aleksandarstojceski3139 Where did I do that? Read and understand. If it's good for his ears then ok, but I don't like it when he take his own subjective feelings as a standard and treat it as a law, and especially not as a musician. According to the motto: I'm a musician after all, I can judge that for you. Not at all. At least I don't let a violinist tell me what a violin should sound like to MY ears. The magic words are: for my ears, for me, for my taste, ect. A small, but significant difference.
To me, AKG sounds the best, don't know really about the naturalness of the sound (I am a novice). I find the treble extremely sweet (not dark but musical) as compared to others in this demo. HD600 have that thump. But I did not like the vocals which is surprising considering how well praised they are for that; they sounded boxy to me and did not have that sparkle l was looking for. DT880 was in was a bit weird, just did not sound very cohesive with all the instruments like in AKG despite its huge soundstage.
@@d.b.c.t1m059 but it's the truth sometimes, being deaf and enjoying high treble cans is a real thing. nothing to be a shamed about. I myself (i think so) deaf on my right ear.

I can enjoy 'treble cannons' like the DT 1990 just as much as 'veiled' Sennheiser-like headphones like the Ollo S4X. The Ollos are a lot more forgiving with siblant recordings which can be downright painful on the Beyers. Meanwhile on other tracks I miss the amount of details the Beyers are able to produce that get lost behind the veil. Thats why I dont limit myself to one set or brand of headphones.
@@d.b.c.t1m059 being honest is now rude? i get it. you can go with what you like too but sometimes being deaf is part of it. Maybe i should reiterate what i said: maybe you're not deaf, but some folks can be and treble boosted cans can help them with the sound.
My same conclusion! I was expencing more from a pair of headphones with the double of the price tag. I fatigue to understand why so many people like the HD600 in this sound test. Clearly I'm using a decent pair of in ear headphones attached to a good DAC. Maybe other people's equipment is better than mine...

DT880 is impressive. I wonder why HD600 seems to have more hype ? They're good but definitely on this video DT800 knocked them out : More air, more detail, more musical fidelity for my taste.
Best over all I think is the HD600. The DT880 is known for its wide sound stage, but it's too wide for my tastes. Everything is left or right and there's very little going on to the front and middle. I really liked the k701 on some songs like the techno tune, but they sounded a little strange to me on others and they drove the female vocal straight through my brain like a nail gun ...not pleasant at all.
This was great. Thank you. As a mixer I want a neutral sound. The 600 was great and using the AKG’s to double check them. The DT880’s I hated. It sounded fake hyped and I almost bought these.
I have to buy a pair of headphones and this video clarified my expectations. Beyerdynamic DT-880 Pro! But seeing so many people liking the HD600, whose sound is so muffled in my opinion, compared to the BD one, hmm leave me quite astonished. In any case, the budget I will use for this purchase is under 200€, so my alternatives were BD or AKG. Oh, last but not least, music is quite a subjective taste and so are the headphones, so we must find what sounds better to our ears.
@@delpinsky True words. Everyone hears with their own ears and then describes the sound that way. The seven the 701 two thin almost tinny, the HD 600s is bass sensitive and is pushed to its fullest in this recording so it almost sounds best here, but there's a lot more room for bass in my opinion, that's where the DT 880 is barely getting given its bass potential, the DT 880 had clearly the best vocals and up close violin sound it's full sound stage just wasn't provided enough amp. Very good job!!! Among these three headphones perhaps the most natural is still the HD 600. However, it is important to keep in mind that the microphone slightly alters the perception of sound.
@@gucky4717 Oh no, the 880's sounded the worst. I used to have a pair. I owned them for one week and then GONE.
HD600 best
whats the second song playing in the video?
Listening on the Hifiman Devas with fiio k5 pro. DT880 best sounding.
HD 600 GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD !!!!!!!!!!!
Man I hear a big drop in mids when he goes from the 701's to the DT880's, is that true or am I crazy?
Yep. You’re not crazy.
what is the song title the woman sing in second?
thanks for good review.
Thank you!! You realy made my desision easyer
I like the highs of K701
The hd600 felt like a Sennheiser veil instead of being comfortable on the ears (disposal), and I've never heard of the akg701, but it sounds too thin. I'm currently using the 600 ohm dt880 (I moved on from using the dt990pro), and it's really blameless. The 990 gave me the experience of my ears getting pierced. (Still, the dt880 After all, it has a high-pitched voice) When I want to be more cheerful and exciting than necessary, I also listen to the 990pro.
HD600 got the most black background 👍🏼
Thanks Man!
У меня в использовании hd600 и k701.....в hd600 больше высоких частот, чем в k701
Dt880 250ohms ? I already bought it. But refurbish them cuz not enjoying sound (especially 990 pro I love ) but they are confortable as fuck so I already got a good amp I hesitate for 600ohms dt880.
Which one here ?
I don't like 600 I love the DT880 amazing beautiful
Sounds great on my SHP's. I'm far too poor to upgrade.
I'm also listening to it with my SHP's which to me sounds incredible. No need to upgrade to anything else.
The hd600 sounds the best. 2 other headphones just have too much treble and high-pitched voices
@@nointernetdinosoursgame2351 Maybe for yor ears but sorry, not for MY ears(even when you played violin for 30 years).
@@october65-h6e Can you really tell a violinist how a violin should sound?
DT880 was in was a bit weird, just did not sound very cohesive with all the instruments like in AKG despite its huge soundstage.
k701 is the king but no one will admit it because it is cheap 🤣😂
DT 880 sounds most natural to me. HD 600 sounds muffled and AKG has something weird going on.
you're probably deaf, sadly.
@@narkformost867 You go with whatever sounds best to you. Being rude like this just makes you seem insecure about your choice.
@@d.b.c.t1m059 but it's the truth sometimes, being deaf and enjoying high treble cans is a real thing. nothing to be a shamed about. I myself (i think so) deaf on my right ear.
@@narkformost867 Like I said its up to you to determine what you like. Maybe you are just very sensitive to highs? I'm in my twenties and have no problem hearing up to 18 kHz. Peoples hearing is just different. There is a reason why terms like 'Beyer peak' and 'Sennheiser veil' are regulary thrown around on H-Fi forums.
1.DT880
2.K701 but treble a bit harsh
3.HD600 bec it s sounded muffled
My same conclusion! I was expencing more from a pair of headphones with the double of the price tag. I fatigue to understand why so many people like the HD600 in this sound test. Clearly I'm using a decent pair of in ear headphones attached to a good DAC. Maybe other people's equipment is better than mine...
DT880 ohm?
Thanks a lot for such an effort! Great!!
The DT880 and the K701 sound like you are wearing headphones. The HD600 sounds muffled but the sound is natural like in real life.
(listening on K701)
Hmm maybe I should get a pair of Beyerdynamics.
Is it just me, or is the K701 the headphone that gets the closest to the original recording?
I compared these headphone recordings to the original recordings of the songs and the K701 sounded the closest to the original recordings of the songs.
3 sound better than plannars and expensive cans
HD600 is a safe bet for most music specially EDM and fast pace indie rock, while AKG and 880 depends on music you listen and analytical.
please! what's the name of the artist and song at the very beginning before the test starts? thanks!

@@hifi1483 ?????
Both sounded better than HD600s. The 600s lacks lows and highs in their frequency response, and it shows here. The lows and highs are veiled.
DT880 is impressive. I wonder why HD600 seems to have more hype ? They're good but definitely on this video DT800 knocked them out : More air, more detail, more musical fidelity for my taste.
Specially Thank you!!
And if it possible, Sure 1840 can be compared?
Anywaym Thank you Very Much!
the sound of k701 is so strange :s
Best over all I think is the HD600. The DT880 is known for its wide sound stage, but it's too wide for my tastes. Everything is left or right and there's very little going on to the front and middle. I really liked the k701 on some songs like the techno tune, but they sounded a little strange to me on others and they drove the female vocal straight through my brain like a nail gun ...not pleasant at all.
This was great. Thank you. As a mixer I want a neutral sound. The 600 was great and using the AKG’s to double check them. The DT880’s I hated. It sounded fake hyped and I almost bought these.
everybody is so biased here. hahaha. alright alright. yours is the best, you're the best
Best comment amongst all.
But there is a difference between describing a pair of headphones as they sound to me and then saying that they don't fit me and my ears or aren't right for my style of music or if I describe them as "awful", "crap" and "garbage" or something like that. You shouldn't see it as a criticism either, you describe your own listening experience, no more and no less.
That's why there are different manufacturers with different sound signatures and we can be happy to have a large selection. just my 2 cent.
It seems like I found my heaphones! Beyerdynamic DT-880 Pro. It feels like the sound is so clear and open, more suitable to my hears. I don't like when the bass muffle the sound, therefore this is the headphones I like the most. Also the voices are so much clearer. And they also fit my price range. Thank you very much for your videos, man ❤ Very much appreciated your effort!

HD600 WIN
880 is much better in drum track, 100 times above
The HD600 seems to sound the darkest while the DT880 sounds the brightest. K701 is something in between.
Yap, but in real life, the HD600 is not dark at all. DT880 and K701 are much thinner than what u can hear in this recording.

@@BamiCodm I just get in mail my new AKG Q701 and they sound amazing. This are great videos. This kind of videos helped me decide to choose which ones I bought, because, review videos talks about headphones ( which are really helpful) but don't show you the actual sound difference between them.
@@HFCR "but don't show you the actual sound difference between them" - Exactly! But for sure it's a good way to feel how certain headphones should sound like and how to compare them to others, before maybe going to a music shop and try them for real, before you buy them.
@@delpinsky there is not many, if not any stores where I live to try them on, besides SamAsh.
@@HFCR Yes, clearly if you live in a small town, the chances to find music shops or malls with audio/video shops inside, where to try out TVs and headphones, are really small if not null. So this kind of comparisons are gold! And then, if you use services such as Amazon, you can still give them back, if they don't suit your ears and get another pair without hassle.
The DT 880 excels beyond the HD 600 just not completely in this recording, the HD 600 would have fallen apart with anymore volume, where the DT 880 was just getting started
I listened to the original tracks on HD600 and I am not sure why this recording sounds muffled here. HD600 sounds very natural and resolving especially in the mids
Hd600 vs akg 240s vs sennheiser hd280 pro please
k701 is the king but no one will admit it because it is cheap 🤣😂 And im shocked the HD600 sounds soooo baddd.....
Cool video. To me the AKG had a weird sound signature. I liked the DT880 for the most part but the treble sometimes was a too little harsh to my ears on certain tracks. I like the HD600 the most as it just delivered the best overall sound presentation to my ears as if you were right there next to the musicians. Nice job. Keep em coming! 👍
Beyerdynamic dt 880. More delicius. More Soundstage too. After a new listening, chabged my opinion. Akg k701 are the best ones. Dt 880 sound more artificial and harsh. 600 has a limited soundstage. K701 are the Best.!!!
A vote to HD600
IMO the HD600 is too grainy and so it wouldn't make sense to get them since the HD650s solve that problem. One can say that the HD650 is a smoothed out version of the 600.
Thanks!
my ad700 sounds perfect
K612 Pro blow these all away except HD600 they are almost on same level, If you want soundstage then K612 Pro but you need good AMP ; ) thank me later!

Among these three headphones perhaps the most natural is still the HD 600. However, it is important to keep in mind that the microphone slightly alters the perception of sound. I listened to this song (腐 草 为 萤) with my 600 and I assure you that there is much difference. the sound is much more transparent and natural. for me AKG K701 sound good but the high frequencies are perhaps too much in evidence. D880 instead have a smoother sound, less transparent.
Exactly, HD600 is way more transparent, clear and natural in real life compared to these sound demos but even from the sound demos, the naturality can be heard. They are still my end-game after many headphones i listened so far which often claimed as "best / end-game / high-end" like HD800S, some Focals, some Hifimans, Beyers, Akgs etc.
