Nicely done, Brian. I've yet to attempt any Vinyl Tag out there, but maybe soon! I must say, watching your videos (and particularly this one) I take note and admire your ease of delivery throughout. Smooth and seamless, and always enjoyable. A decent amount of overlap here vinyl wise. My lone Japanese pressing is Talking Heads 'Little Creatures' - which I didn't realize was coming from Japan until after it was on its way here! The perils of eBay ordering in lockdown a few years ago - ha! But, it came with a cool lyric sheet and notes all in Japanese.
Hi Ed, Well, thank you for the compliment. I did once post a video with many hilarious and not so hilarious bloopers, so thing do not always go well! It's a comedy of errors sometimes. But, I do quite a bit of public speaking, so that helps. That's cool that you got an accidental Japanese pressing. I still don't know if they sound better, but they look great!
@EmbryonicRobot My pleasure. It is a comedy of errors for sure. I'm taking it one video at a time! I have to speak and facilitate a good amount for work also, but it's all scripted and repetitive. It's not like talking about records at all 😆
Brian Eno was a great choice @ sunrise 🌅. VU, like Warhol, had their finger on the pulse of the future. The Clash was a good call. I've never seen that Smiths album before. The packaging is excellent. It looks to be high-quality. ☔️
Thanks, Mark. Warhol and VU really did have their finger of the pulse of the future. I think that Smiths record is rare (but I can't be certain). I have only seen it once the day I bought it!
Hey Brian, Very well done! I, too, just discovered @tokyorecordstyle and decided to participate in his Japan Vinyl Tag 2024 and have it cued up for 5 tomorrow afternoon. Cheers.
Fine response. Way to stick up for Bruce and his original. I do love Sugar's Copper Blue but have yet to pick up File Under Easy Listening. I thought that you might have the Bob Dylan at Budokan record. I've been to one vinyl bars years ago and I think it was really before it became much of a thing. The Clash record is a perfect pick and even though there are some lesser tracks, I enjoy hearing the entire album.
I have never owned Dylan at Budokan and I rarely see it. One day, I will get it. I haven't listened to Sandinista in ages, so maybe I will give it a spin soon!
Fun video- this really shows your range of music interests for sure! Always glad to see Bob Mould/Sugar making appearances- I was fortunate to see/meet Bob Mould at the 9:30 Club a few times when I lived in DC in the 99s/early 00s 😃👍
Hi Brian, glad you jumped on this tag. TRS Brian’s channel is full of really interesting videos particularly if you like nosing vicariously around the back streets of Tokyo. I also thought the tag had some great questions, providing lots of scope for interpretation. Andy

Great Video. Brian from Tokyo Record Style was one of the first people to sub to my channel and reach out. I have watched 4 other people take a whack at this tag, and loved their album selections. I want to do it as well... but since I'm so new to the VC and my first video was a response to Noble Records Summer Tag. I felt like I needed to wait and tackle if before the end of the year while it's still 2024. Nice picks. Adam Ant! Love the King Crimson pick. I'm the same if I sit with music too quiet, my mind wanders, so I need an album that requires me to give it my attention. Doolittle! Fun track for the end of your life play.
Hi Bobby - Whenever you do the tag, I will be eager to see your picks. I came to Adam Ant a bit late. I was never sure that I liked him, but I found out that I did!

Great work Brian. I have that Eno album, but can't say I'm familiar with it. Springsteen is a good choice, but kudos for taking a left turn with 'Discipline'. I fancy that Sugar album, as I only have 'Copper Blue', but to be fair I bought that vinyl album after my interest had peaked during a period when I was listening to grunge and, quite differently, The Lemonheads. There was a great rush of new music then, it was so hard to keep up. The Sleaford Mods are bloody great. To my ears their sound is unique, and they're a hoot live. Where I was brought up, today would be a hotbed of the rogue behaviour The Mods sing/rap about. Fortunately, it wasn't so bad when I was a nipper. 'Sandanista' a good choice. That John Hassell album has a lovely cover. Don't know him though. So many interesting choices throughout. Excellent.
I have watched some Sleaford Mods live clips on YT. Amazing! Great energy. I need to listen to some more of their music.I did struggle with some questions, but I guess it turned out 🙂 The Sugar album is a real barn burner. Oddly, I know next to nothing about the Lemonheads, apart from a couple of tracks. Anyway, this was a really fun exercise 🙃
Sumac sounds very West Coast to me. I believe that plant is also known as mountain ash or rowan. It’s common in the high mountains of Japan and turns vibrant shades of yellow and red in early October.
I always though Blinded by the Light was such a dumb song. Misheard lyrics might have been a contributing factor. I’ve never heard the BS version, I mean Bruce Springsteen of course. Discipline is my favourite King Crimson album!
I think Manfred Mann version of Blinded by the Light is dumb. They removed everything that is great about the song and made it stupid! It just grates on my nerves. Ha ha 🙂 I did a KC ranking video and placed Discipline as #1! It's awesome.

The subject matter of Jason's lyrics are from deep in the 'underclass', and both disturbing and fascinating.
Good entry.
Thanks!
I’m really going to have to give an attentive ear to that Velvet Underground album.
Indeed. It's a top 10 record for me, maybe even top 5 👍
@@EmbryonicRobot I e seen it mentioned a fair bit recently. Though I think it’s because of the banana and Jt’s Record Rooms food album cover contest.
It starts out very peacefully with Sunday Morning, but it takes a few turns along the way!
Sumac sounds very West Coast to me. I believe that plant is also known as mountain ash or rowan. It’s common in the high mountains of Japan and turns vibrant shades of yellow and red in early October.
I have seen sumac in the fall. and I agree it looks incredible.
@@EmbryonicRobot Oh, I’ll try to find your KC ranking video. I’d like to see that!
