I like this more then the album version to be honest.
I like these lyrics better.
She should have recorded this version for one of her mid to late 80's albums. Maybe even early 90's.
What a different world we would be in if this was released instead. Beautiful .
There are no words that can describe how incredible this sounds.
When I heard this original version of "The Chain", years ago, on the remaster: I completely understood why Stevie was rather upset to "give up" this would-be classic to the band, to create, "The Chain" (1977 LP version, which, in all honesty, should have been released as a single, as well). This could have actually given Fleetwood Mac a second #1, if this had been included on Rumours. This was just as good as "Dreams"...and that's saying a hell of a lot. I love that Stevie's playing the guitar, too!
This song sounds good but not great which shows how intuitive FL were about not just releasing anything. The lyrics for the verses are not the same. Only the chorus lyrics remain in the version we know. This is not bad just a totally different song. I'm glad they reworked it instead of just accepting anything. Thats a sign of greatness. Most people don't realize that some songs have a long journey, go through rewrites, different tempos, arrangements. None of the chords for this version made it to the final.
My god this is beautiful
IT's not a demo, it's another song of Stevies. They took her lyrics and added it to Christines song Keep Me there which was the bulk of the song. Lindsey added the verse lyrics. The Melody is Christines.
Tremendous demo!
Slipped into the fountains of my emptiness
7/23 I keep coming back to this. What an amazing experience to see our Goddess live
God so raw...just perfect! Stevie is a legend.
Not commented in years but!!
THIS is music!! Take notes all you new-comers! ♡♡♡
My favorite Stevie song. Showcases all her talents & strengths as a songwriter. I think that's saying a lot bc all of her songs (with Fleetwood Mac & solo work) are beautiful & meaningful. But this one makes me feel something so deep every single time I listen to it. No one else like Stevie
This has entered my soul. You lift me . Thank you.
Stevie at her finest.
God damnit. I fucking love Stevie Nicks.
from the heart.... amazing vocals.....thank u Stevie for being there for so many years...no programs, no overdubs... PURE Stevie❤
