I'm a California escapee - 5+ years ago. When we scouted OR, WA, ID & MT for a new life Idaho was a perfect fit. Don't bring CA with you, you won't be happy. Manage your life, let others manage theirs. Take a deep breath when you don't understand the speed limit in the Costco parking lot is 45 - just move aside and go on your own way.
On a summer holiday weekend, i saw 100s of cars parked way east along the CDA river. I took my atv 5 minutes up a trail - and never saw a soul for the remainder of the day. Lots of space out there..
We just moved to north Idaho (Noridaho...our Idahome) from the place that should never be mentioned. It snowed our first 2 days here. It's 22 degrees right now and will be 18 degrees by morning We LOVE it
I'm from Nor. Idaho and moved back to Reno, NV. in 2008. I'll vouche, this video is definitely accurate. Make sure you have awd unless you have experience driving in the snow. If you have a CA license plate, change it asap, the locals will never like you. It is a Mormon state/town, just know that. The resto of the video watch and pay attention to.
Yeah it is! We actually have had snow the last couple of days which is super rare this early in the season. You’ll have a good idea of what to expect once you get here.

@annieglazier5278 would you want it blue?? I'd sure hope it stays red....all the cali transplants move here to escape the hell hole left wing trash can to come out here and bring their voting habits with them...then what's the point of leaving cali if you try and make our town the same way????
It's not. Not even close yet. But......the transplants children may have something to do with that in the next 10 years. It's not the parents you have to worry about. It's their indoctrinated kids that may change things.
I know a lot of people hate on Californias for moving there. My fiancé and I want to move there from CA (can't stand the politics in CA!) I have a question about cars, would a AWD SUV be okay in the meantime? I would appreciate the help :) I have never really encountered snow for more than a day. Great videos!
California's have been moving to North Idaho for decades. I moved their when I was 10. We moved back cause no jobs for my parents. Nowadays though people have internet jobs, they might be there to stay this time... Stay free sandpoint!
Please, traffic! Come to Oregon where they are planning to toll us on the highways because of the high traffic. They think this will fix it. It's just going to cause the traffic to move to side streets. We are hoping to have a vote against it. Keep Idaho a small legislational government. The more government the more troubles.
First thank you for your service but the only thing you said in this whole video that was Idahoan was you can find God in the mountains easier than in the city........all the rest is out of state drivel and that is what is making North Idaho a thing of the past ! Greed! it has no place here , you do NOT need money to have a great time here you need Imagination and will power to get out and do it. you do not need to fly in a airplane or drive in a Raptor to go see the back country. All these little Businesses used to be enough to keep a family in a home and fed No longer as people with the same plan as you got fat and rich and drove the price of a home from 40 K to 500.000 K do the math!!!!!! I had to pack up and leave the CDA area because of attitudes like yours we could not afford to buy a new house after our kids were grown so I left and that was a sad day I always loved the area and lived there well over 40 years it is gone, just like the wolves killed the elk the greed has killed that area. I am sure you are a nice person I am not picking just on you there are thousands of you you just do NOT understand the way of life that Idahoans love , it is simple and less materialistic, laid back and not rushed yes we believe in this country the same way with the same passion.
