- Wer einen Korg PA5X besitzt und in den Genuss kommen möchte, dort auch Sounds vom YAMAHA Genos 2 spielen zu können, der kann sich in Kürze bei Global Sound Sweden mit über 200 Sounds eindecken. Als Beta-Tester vin Global Sound, durfte ich mir die ersten Ergebisee anhören und live testen. Die Ergebnisse hört ihr in diesem Video. Dort gibt es einen 1:1 Vergleich zwischen dem Oroginal Sound vom Genos 2 und den neuen Sounds für den KORg PA5X. Als Ergebnis muss ich sagen, dass sich die bisher getesteten Sounds nur in Nuancen unterscheiden. Einige finde ich vom Sound auf dem KORG PA5X, vom persönlichen Empfinden her noch besser.

If you own a Korg PA5X and want to enjoy playing sounds from the YAMAHA Genos 2, you will soon be able to stock up on over 200 sounds from Global Sound Sweden. As a beta tester for Global Sound, I was able to listen to the first results and test them live. You can hear the results in this video. There is a 1:1 comparison between the original sound of the Genos 2 and the new sounds for the Korg PA5X. As a result, I have to say that the sounds tested so far only differ in nuances. I personally think that some of them sound even better on the KORG PA5X.

@@gonzo8008 the System Update is available for Korg PA 5x international Version. Its for free. Do you have a Korg PA 5x ? Than you can download it on the Korg website.

Could it be that the Korg has better (and more) oscillators than the Yamaha...
Good morning, i don't know but the sound quality is amazing. I play both instruments. The Yamaha GENOS 2 is very good regarding to sounds and styles but the korg PA5x offers more possibilities and yes, for me it sounds better.
The difference in sound may be because of how they get the sound converted to korg format. You have the base sampling but you also have a basic ADSR EG and LFO defined in each "patch" on th Genos which some times is set with negative filter values to make it "softer". The filter is kinda "Meh" in the Genos. You don't have as large a range as you have in a normal sampling or Rompler ADSR. It really havn't got the ability to completely change a sampling into something else: I belive you can much better manipulate sounds in the PA5X. Yamaha is quite anal about keeping their Synths and Arrangers clearly seperated in how much you can manipulate the sounds, cause who would buy a MODX or Montage if the Genos could do the same .. they are so afraid it would hurt their Synth sale if they put too many edit functionality in the Arrangers
