i live on the edge of a forest in middle-europe, in a basically unfenced lot, same thing here. Always some surprise visitors. Boars, fawns which got lost, even those smaller-built wild horses sometimes. Could do with the fact i leave things around the lot purposefully that herbivores can munch.

It's kinda like how the squirrels and pigeons in Boston tend to be super chubby and walk right up to tourists in the commons. Wild animals tend to remember safe places and sources of food, so tourists who dole out breadcrumbs and leave tasty morsels in the unguarded park trash bins register very low on the threat scale to a well-fed Boston squirrel.
Also like: you're right about that, but still we need to be caution dealing with other beings.

Keep noted, some mother deers arent smart at hiding their fawns. Though, this one I truly feel they left their fawn there out of trust for the human.

Just because people can befriend/feed/pet a wild animal doesn’t mean they should. We helped a mamma deer that got stuck in a fence and later found out she was going to have a baby and she did the same thing it filled my heart to see her and her baby doing well ❤🎉

@@kirstieh8094 these deer are only doing this because the people have been feeding them on multiple occasions its not okay for wild animals to coexist this well with humans from food association. This is how animals end up deemed as "pests" in cities and are inevitably killed off because of it.

I don’t know if it’s the same for javelinas. I live in the middle of nowhere and have a herd of javelinas come almost every night. I put water out for the animals. The mamas always come to the porch to show me the babies. I’m safely 7 feet above them lol.

Respected the mother? That’s about her personal survival… They may have brought the fun, but if she’d try to approach it, she’s been stomped to death. Ever been to a park like Yosemite where they’ve got the pictures everywhere don’t touch the deer and there’s a deer reared up stomping a child to death. Yeah, that was all about her staying safe. I can use zoom and live or trying to approach it and die a horrible death or be crippled and maimed forever what should I do?

@@3rdreichball525they might be city or suburban deer we have a big group I call the town deer and they know to stay in town during hunting season (small rural town so wide open spaces is right there like go from town to Field in about a block) they mainly hangout in the big graveyard down the street but the moms all bring their baby’s to my yard put them in the lily fronds and leave to go eat if I see an adventurous one getting up and wandering I just tell him to get back where mom put him or he’ll be in trouble and back he goes happens every year

Nor did I. I think that's a great way to emphasise how good the natural camouflage of the young ones are too ensure they're less likely to be spotted and ensures the continual survival of the species despite predation.

I’d love to do that at my place… until they get comfortable enough to come eat every flower I have, every single plant that’s not supposed to be their treat. Etc. You could never vacation or move. If you did… certain death for them. There’s reasons you’re not allowed to feed them, ya know.

Wild deer live through harsh northern WINTER by eating stems of plants,twigs and mushrooms off of trees, and even tree bark If nothing else is available.
If they're used to snacks, they absolutely will not starve to death because someone drove off to visit family for a week.
You can't feed deer in many places for a variety of reasons, yes, and some of them are important...but it's not because they'll starve if you go away over labor day weekend.
One of the big risks is that people often feed them the wrong things, which can cause severe diarrhea and make them very sick. That's most likely not happening here, as a solid bond that took time to create is established

Absolutely! It's not a fun thing to point out, and people will often get .... "HARSH" .... when it is pointed out. But, this sort of love - of the human for the animals - is not without consequences. Those can be felt by the human feeding them, other people, or the animals themselves.

She feeds them. They're there for food. Not to show anything off. She's just trying to live out her disney movie dreams. They're just trying to eat. My cousin used to do this too. They would crowd her backyard door every day.

@@mamawray but those animals still run away. They only let you feed them. Not pet or go near them. In this case she was able to get hand licks. This is a form of affection. It’s so weird how so many animals lick their loved ones 😭 like- cute but- really gonna have to wash your hands good after.
