I know you released this 5 years ago… but I’m here to tell you: These videos are still helping people learn these amazing games. Thank you Ricky! You’re the man

Such excellent explanation. You are a very good host, and I thank you much. This play-through helps me get the game set up and going so much faster.

Great videos Ricky, thanks for all that you do for the gaming community. I've bought tons of VPG's based on your reviews/playthroughs and just ordered this game too.

I'm waiting for the mailman to deliver my Sierra Madre Games Kickstarter rewards today :). I just realized that Pax Porfiriana is also the Deluxe edition. I am really looking forward to play it solo and watching your videos is a perfect preparation.

Yes! Love this game and love your play throughs.... cant wait to watch this series. I actually play PP last night. I've not tackled it solo yet as per the rules, I just 'play' as 2 players.

I just played this for the first time last night 3 player and loved it. You helped clarify a few items I messed up too. I like the 2d6 top/bottom row for Diaz card selection on your solo variant. I will be using that method for my solo plays (perhaps tonight)

This game looks very interesting! Thanks for the playthrough, Rick. I would never have known about the game otherwise.

+JoystickzWePlay thank you ! Oh yes, every one's a winner... I must try Pax Pamir (and create a solo variant!)

I totally missed PAX and already regret it... the theme was not as interesting as Neanderthal, BIOS or Greenland for me. But I again: now I regret it :-)

If you are still looking for it, they are selling it on sierra madre games website, just a few copy left, for 50Euros :)

The cool thing about this game is that you can scale it by year with each round, a turn by you and a turn by Diaz, being a year. So in that case:
    Start of 1898: 13:00
    Start of 1899: 29:00

I think you should lobby Sierra to reprint this with some of his other games. I only discover Phil’s games about 6 months ago and just picked up John Company. I did send a email a while ago, but I’m a no body really to make a case. Just say’in as I’ve watch your stuff for a while. I’ve just really entered the board game hobby about a year ago now but I think Phil’s games are really excellent.

They are. For a relatively new player you've found the Eden of excellent boardgames pretty quickly. Its a shame, and quite frustrating that most of his games are so bloody difficult to find. I suspect he doesnt like money :P

Mathieu S.L luckily in my town the board games community is quite strong and knowledgeable. A member playing one of his games at a monthly get together ‘educated’ me. While I have been a BGG member for a while I never really took it seriously until going to the monthly game meet ups. These events exposed me to Sierra Games, with others. You Tube has also helped. But yea it’s confusing-confusing-why there is a reluctance to doing a reprinting, revisit, of now difficult to get good quality games by the company. Perhaps he’s been burned by the printing difficulties they faced with other certain games.

I like those chips. Which ones are they, if I may ask?

This is an excellent game and great play through but I think sequel is a much better game ...especially the graphical design of the cards, the use of the map for movement ...however both games are very good and although cousins they feel different but familiar at the same time ...
