This condition is known as galactorrhea. Galactorrhea can be caused by various factors, including hormonal imbalances, certain medications, thyroid issues, or stimulation of the breasts. In some cases, individuals who are not pregnant or have never been pregnant may be able to induce lactation through specific methods. This is often seen in situations where an individual desires to breastfeed an adopted baby or in same-sex couples. The process typically involves hormonal therapy and frequent breast stimulation, such as through pumping or suckling, to stimulate milk production.

You have no idea how sad this makes me. I pumped for months, every 2 hours, i took supplements, stayed hydrated, ate well, i tried so so so so hard, and i never got more than 2oz out of each side. I don’t know you but I’m so proud of you for trying so hard!! It just shows how much you love your daughter. I birthed my son and also couldn’t produce milk. I was 19 and got very depressed because of it. It takes such determination and discipline to keep going. Your daughter is healthy, and has a loving mother. That’s all that matters to her! ❤
Lactation is caused by a hormone called prolactin. So just like with steroids you can literally consume/inject it to start creating milk! You don't even need to be female if for some reason a man wants to do it. 🤍
Breastfeeding or pumping never worked out with my first. With my second pregnancy, I had twins and thought for sure I wouldn’t be able to. I found out I would have to deliver at least 4 weeks early and there had been numerous complications during my pregnancy that made me worry. My doctors nurse gave me several breast is best pamphlets near my due date and said breast milk would be best to help them with any problems they may have. ***For the record, I have nothing against formula feeding. I am pro fed, not pro one over the other! My then 1 year old had been mainly formula fed.*** I didn’t see it at the time but she was obviously pushing her opinions on others and I reported her to my OB who told me there were several other similar complaints filed and that the nurse had been let go immediately after the third complaint came in since it was in a two day period. -back on topic - So I went into the hospital with Mother’s Milk tea, fenugreek and these oatmeal balls that had something else in them that was supposed to be good for helping with you milk supply packed in my hospital bag. I drank the tea 3 times a day (I found it tasted less gross with lots of sugar and milk and iced, and made sure to drink it within 10 minutes or whatever the box said). It took me about 18 hours to get to my room after surgery, and the first thing I did (after getting approval from the doctor!) drink a cup of tea, take the fenugreek, eat and oatmeal thing and wait for my husband to get to my room with the breast pump. The nurse showed me how to use it properly, what size pump cup things I would need, and then gave me a second set of parts the hospital had so we didn’t have to immediately wash parts, since I would be pumping every two hours. Let me tell you, on day 3 my milk came in with a vengeance! My breasts were huge and rock hard! I went from a B to a DDD. I was pumping 80+ oz a day when they were about 10 days old. I was actually able to build up a milk stash. It’s also important to get enough to eat and drink. I always had at least a bottle of water and a protein bar every time I pumped. Oh, and you’ll want nipple butter. No matter if you pump or breast feed, your nipples will wind up hurting. A lot of people will say to try this other stuff, I think it starts with an L, but that stuff is sticky and doesn’t work as well at easing the pain and healing your nipple. That’s my experience anyway. The other stuff might work for you! But for everyone I’ve recommended the nipple butter to, they’ve much preferred it over the L stuff. I looked it up. It’s Lanolin that is usually what it recommended, but Earth Mama Nipple Butter was amazing, and it’s organic if you’re into that (which I was).
@@LD-qk9dd at 8 months old, my little one couldn’t sit still and we were done. But our breastfeeding journey had been difficult from the start. It’s a process called induced lactation. There are a few ways it can be achieved, but the most common and most successful is through a combination of pharmaceuticals and manual stimulation of the mammary glands. Usually people wanting to induce lactation will take medications such as medroxyprogesterone, chlorpromazine, and metoclopramide. These are hormone-mimicking drugs which trick the brain into thinking that you are pregnant, and thus start producing milk. This is actually fairly common not only in same-gender couples but also among people who adopt infants. :)
@@juliwny7031 Yes and no. Some people manage to induce lactation solely through physical stimulation. This usually involves massage and pumping for many, many months before the baby arrives. But the success rate for those who solely use physical stimulation is much lower. Some people also have success including lactation through the use of herbs plus stimulation. This includes things like goat’s rue and borage. This is because, much like the prescribed medications, they’re high in certain chemicals which mimic hormones and can trick the brain into thinking it’s pregnant. But they tend to be less successful because they’re not as concentrated as the pure form in the medications.
Ok I have a weird question. How do you produce milk if not pregnant? This blows my mind bc I'm seeing you pump so much more than I could while pregnant and breastfeeding so I'm amazed.

Same here…. My son lost too much weight and I just couldn’t produce enough milk when I was 19 and a young, stressed out, basically single Mom.. I tried to do both Breastfeeding and formula but ultimately stuck with just formula because my son was so hungry and I just couldn’t produce enough milk and he’d cry…. @@kij7412 even in animals that's possible. Been growing on a farm lol, so I've seen that happen. When there's enough connection, hormones and stimulation this most definitely will happen.
I always had more on my left side than my right with all 4 of my kids.. They were never right side feeders, they preferred the left.. I was lopsided for many years lol
I'm so triggered lol 😭. I was pregnant with twins. I did absolutely EVERYTHING I could. I read about 10 different books on lactation and when they were born my milk never came in. I saw every expert you can think of. I had them breastfeed, then gave them formula and followed up with the pump, THEN hand expressed. I drank the tea, took the supplements. I was so freaking distraught. ONE time only, I managed 20 ml. The vast majority of the time I was splitting a few drops between each bottle. I talked to my mom every day about it. At 6 weeks, I made the gut wrenching decision to stop trying. The process was taking me 45 min minimum and by the time I was done, there was 30-45 min before I needed to start again. When I called my mom sobbing about being a bad mom with broken tiddies she says "well, all 4 of you were bottle fed and you're fine." I was shocked bc she never mentioned it at all. She followed up with "yeah, didn't I ever tell you? I never got any milk in either and neither did your grandmother". Literally 6 weeks of anguish and sleep deprivation could have been avoided.
This is why it's soooo important to talk to your parents and children so that we know what our medical history is like. I'm sorry you went through that anguish, but happy to know you were reassured that you weren't a bad mom and that your inability for your body to lactate wasn't an indication of your ability to be a mom. From another mom❤
@ShoCa thank you. I wish I'd had a good friend back then who had said those words to me. I wish I could say this was the first or last time it happened. I have chronic autoimmune diseases, one of which resulted in permanent damage to my joints. As a kid she brushed it off as growing pains and since she didn't advocate for me, doctors didn't either. She understands now that what she did was wrong, but it took me having to be on chemo to subdue my immune system for it to really click with her. She finally told me we had diabetes in the family too, which is good because I've been able to monitor the girls. The eldest twin fainted in my arms and had a small seizure. Thankfully because she finally told me something ahead of time, I knew exactly what to do. The best I can do is not beat myself up for what I didn't know and to never allow anyone to dismiss my children's pain or symptoms. It took me a while to forgive. I had to remind myself that my mom is still learning, at the age of 72, how to be a good parent. Her parents were severe alcoholics who beat the crap out of her every day. My mom was an alcoholic for a long time. But she finally quit in order to save our relationship. She's learned forgiveness, patience, responsibility, compassion and how to be a good mom and a great grandmother from me. That's all I can ask from her is to keep learning. She's an amazing, loving grandmother and to my husband she is the proud, loving and supportive parent I wish she had been to me. It's enough for me that she's good to them.
@AprilCopeland21 I'm truly happy to hear that! Sometimes, parents do what they think is right at the time or don't know how to be any other way but as adults we can see the wrong and the sinple fact that she's has been doing better by you shows how much she loves you and is breaking the cycle. You also sound like you love your girls. You never stop learning how to parent, and every day, there are new things to learn. Everyday won't be happy, but I hope your lives are filled with happiness and joy and good times

For people who dont know : it's due to a high level of prolactin, the hormone produced that let's you produce milk, when you're pregnant it goes up which allows you to breastfeed your baby. But some people (Usually the ones who have low GnRh, who can't get pregnant) can also produce milk because of the high level of prolactin, although it doesn't let your other hormones do their work, which can completely mess up your period and so the possibility to be pregnant, there are medications for this.

Yeah its weird you can trick your body by having suction on your breasts for a certain amount of time a certain amount of times a day and your body will start to produce. Just like your body will continue to produce till you stop.
I heard a story not too long ago (brace yourself lol) where a lady was just about to walk down the aisle to get married but they couldn't find the soon to be husband. They went lookkng and found him, breastfeeding from his mother 😲🤨😵🤦♀️ idk how old he was but to say tge least 18.
Thanks for the education. I acutally diden't know this. 🙏

Same here, but we did give our kids what we could and that is precious. Your a great mom!
Same, after both births I had to give up breastfeeding at 4 months bc I was only producing .5 to 2 Oz of milk. It was devastating to me both times.
FYI lactating can be induced. On the other hand she can be a mother of adopted kids or from her female partner.
You look so pretty dear and your wife too
It’s so amazing how you guys can both brest feed! I didn’t even know that was possible if you weren’t pregnant.
Alot of mammals can actually do this (: had a dog who produced her whole life without puppies.
Lactation is caused by a hormone called prolactin. So just like with steroids you can literally consume/inject it to start creating milk! You don't even need to be female if for some reason a man wants to do it. 🤍

I really needed to know this when I was breastfeeding. I’m learning so much more as I prepare for our second child
Here I am, an oblivious human, thinking about how another human is reminiscing about suckling on their mother.
I chuckled hehe
@@LD-qk9dd at 8 months old, my little one couldn’t sit still and we were done. But our breastfeeding journey had been difficult from the start. From sitting ramrod straight in the hospital chairs to not knowing the nipple shield could deplete your supply. I’m definitely taking notes and doing things differently next time.

edit: thank you all for your answers! very interesting and useful!
I was wondering the same thing.
@@trisarahtops1092 thank you for your answer, you just cleared all my doubts!
@@trisarahtops1092 Is there a way to do it more naturally?

@@magdalena_margo from what they show us at least! and they seem like super kinda and amazing people. and i would not think other wise.

ESCAPE GURL!!
