Thank you, Brett! You became the Booktuber for me this year who has the most similar reading tastes to my own. So I take your recommendations to heart.
I loved The Safekeep too 😊 I'll 100% be picking up The History of Sound on audio. You're the only person I've heard talk about it but you've convinced me!
I loved The Safekeep, All Fours, and, of course, James. I haven't gotten to Strout's latest yet but it's on my TBR. I've also just added The History of Sound to my list as well. Happy New Year!
You’ve sold me on The Wolf at the Table, I hope it’s out here. Or there will be trouble. All Fours and Intermezzo I am glad have lived up to the hype (albeit marmite hype with July) though the hype was putting me off, which is why I’ve not go to them… yet. But I will. I also need to get to Small Rain. Ok… I have to get your number one!!!
Happy New Year Brett and thank you for all your content throughout 2024. I've just added Wolf at the Table, Small Rain, and History of Sound to my list. I've never been into short stories, but your enthusiasm for your top book bowled me over, so how could I not give it a go. Looking forward to seeing what you bring us in 2025.
As you like Irish writers I think you would enjoy A Good Enough Mother by Catherine Dunne. Also, So late in the Day by Claire Keegan better known for Small Things like these.
We had 3 top ten in common and I placed History of Sound and James in my top 3. I almost bought Cinema Love the other day, rats! I’ll have to amend that! Great video!
Happy New Year Brett and thank you for all of your wonderful videos. I am currently about to start All Fours and your review has me very excited. After that I’m going to go to a local indie and buy the History of Sound. Thank you!l and all the best for 2025! 😊
Hi Brett. Happy New Year 🥳 Because I have 30 books that I gave 5 stars to in 2024, I’m having a hard time deciding on a top ten. I’d have to make separate lists like Best debuts Best Irish Most surprising etc I’ve also got several great books half read or only started, which includes History of Sound. With so much family stuff happening between Christmas and January, there’s no way I can finish them all. ☘️👋🍀📕📚📖☕️

Interesting list. The Safekeep is on my radar. Our Evenings sounds interesting to me. Your number one has me intrigued. 😊💙

The younger brother in Intermezzo is named Ivan, not Ian.😊
You’re right. Thanks for correcting!

You said you felt like a VJ (video jockey) but really, you’re our “book jockey.” Use the acronym for that at your discretion.😁
