Yup,, when I shoot lightening photography,, the storm may be approaching but as long as I get those lightening shots I keep shooting. My famous last words.. I like to shoot the storms but they still scare me... I now have remote control so I can shoot from my car.. but you still have to get out every once in a while to check focus..

I was just watching another glacier calving clip and I was imagining how amazing it would be to experience something like that firsthand. The feel of the brisk, cold air. Staring in wonderment at nature's might and majesty. Then I started thinking about how large some of those calvings could be and that the water is basically death if you have to go in it. "Nahhh, I'll just watch youtube videos of other people going there instead." *clicks on this clip* "Good idea."

      I don't think that's what they meant.
Just simply that we must always be aware of our surroundings while visiting and viewing the more dangerous events she has to offer.
      That's the beauty of it!
Our little blue rock. Our home.
It supports us as we hurtle through space at 67,000 mph around our very own star. We get everything we need from it. And in seconds it can turn from routine to life and death to take everything away.
Never take nature for granted and never take life for granted. Always be prepared.

I hope that boat wasn't spewing that black smoke (0:58) all the time.
People rave on about conservation and protecting the planet and how man just exhaling is causing global warming and then burn how much diesel fuel to move a large ship how many miles into 'pristine' waters chugging black smoke into the air so they can look at nature. That doesn't even mention the anti-fouling painted on the hull of the boat that is leaching into the water, nor the noise pollution that the engine generates directly into the water which impacts all marine life, especially whales.

Year after year people put themselves in harms way for cheap thrills. Hmm, let's sit on the edge of a volcanic crater too and watch the lava spew to skyscraper heights... :/
That's not the only thing that makes it dangerous. Falling in that water would be certain death, instant hypothermia
