Alex, Stormbreaker doesn't work like Mjolnir, to hold Mjolnir you have to be worthy because Odin made the spell in the 1st movie, but to hold Stormbreaker you only have to be powerful enough
I think it is because Stormbreaker wasn’t made with the handle it was supposed to be. It was made with Groot’s arm, so it doesn’t have the complete magic.
@@averagenoah like the first commentor said, Mjolnir cant be held unless worthy because of Odin's spell, and that spell also gives whoever is worthy the powers of Thor. Stormbreaker has no such spell upon it.
"This looks like something out of a kid's nightmare!" You're more right than you think! When they were making the movie, they brought in a bunch of the cast & crew's kids and sat them down at a table and handed them all black crayons and paper. The effects team told the kids to draw the scariest shadow-monster they could think of. Then the effects team used those drawings as the starting point for the monster designs.
The kid who played Gor's daughter was Chris Hemsworth's real-life daughter, so their chemistry in that last scene probably came pretty naturally. One of his sons also cameoed as young Thor in the opening montage (the 8-year-old boy.)
I think it was nice of Marvel to cast Chris Hemsworths entire family in this movie. His daughter, wife, and son are all in it. That’s pretty cool. A crazy family memory.
@@phunkydroid Yes, Luke Hemsworth as "Actor Thor", Matt Damon as "Actor Loki", Sam Neill (Dr. Grant in "Jurassic Park") as "Actor Odin", Melissa McCarthy as "Actor Hela", and Ben Falcone (her husband) as "Asgardian Stage Manager"
Both of Taika’s Thor movies are told by a character in it. Ragnarok was Thor himself, as if telling it to his bony cell mate. Love and Thunder is very literally narrated by Korg. In both cases, that affects the way the movie is presented, which is why this one leans even harder on the comedy than even Ragnarok.
@@0g0dn0 what adds to the second film is that the director of both films also plays Korg. It’s like he positioned himself in the role to naturally transition to that.
My aunt passed away 7 years ago from breast cancer… Two years ago, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now she is fighting stage 4 metastatic cancer. It’s in her brain. Sometimes winning the fight means never giving up and always trying to smile. You and your content have help me cope with this situation. Thank you, Alex!
Damn that's bleak - hope all the best for you guys, honestly (went thourgh this shit twice with my parents). Somewhere along the way the internet made me so cynic I actually expected you to end your post with "And this reaction gave me cancer"
Same... I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Heart Cancer in my early 20s. Went from 180 pounds of prime martial arts shape (I was a semi-pro female kickboxer and mixed martial artist, plus I'm a dual black belt), to about 90 pounds in a matter of months. Half my body weight. Proton therapy radiation and immunotherapy injections. After almost two years, I was given less than 6 months to live, and was about to be placed in Hospice. Those last 7 months after that... I couldn't tell you what happened. My mentality changed? I had some inner strength yet that I didn't realize was there? Something along those lines, but to this day, it remains mind-boggling to think about. I was at a point where my skin was translucent, you could see my nervous system, yet in half a year I went from terminal, to being declared cancer FREE. October 10, 2018. I was 23. Been in remission ever since, although I have an Aortic Aneurysm and various degenerative diseases that make life difficult, plus multiple pneomothoraxes (lung collapses). But I'm ALIVE! About to be 30 now, and I still can't wrap my mind around the fact I made it. I've never gotten my body back, been stuck at 130-140 ever since, and the radiation cost me my upper teeth, but I'm breathing and in the living world. Cancer is a b****. I get PTSD seeing the medical commercials for it, and this movie triggered me MASSIVELY. But I do my best, you know? Hope you too are still in remission, and everyone else battling this monster can find the strength and love they need to overcome it.
@ I love that you’re still around kicking that stuff in the ass! I hope that fight was the only fight you need to make, it truly gives you an amazing outlook on life once you’ve been through something like that. Jane’s story here was definitely a trigger. Especially considering how hopeless she felt, I imagine you and I both had our share of hopelessness. Since writing this comment, it did come back and I had another round of treatment. However, I am better now than I was after the last treatment and hopefully getting my port out soon! Congratulations, and I wish nothing but the best for your long and healthy life moving forward!
My dad got shot in the chest, died 3 times on the ambulance ride to the hospital. Made a full recovery only to find out he had stage 3 testicular cancer to which he beat as well and is extremely thankful of the life he has with everyone since he's went through so much.
There's a lot of family members in this movie, too. Gorr's daughter (Thor's adopted niece) is Chris Hemsworth's actual daughter. His wife was the woman he kisses on the back of the giant wolf. His brother played Thor in the theatrical recreation with Matt Damon as Loki. Young Thor running through the woods at the very start was his actual son. And in the battle with all the kids getting powers, Chris Hemsworth's third kid as well as Natalie Portman's two kids are part of the group.
You're 100% correct about the events of this movie being told from Korg's point of view, and once you watch it with that in mind, the tone of the movie begins to make sense. As for being worthy, that was an enchantment placed on Mjolnir by Odin. Stormbreaker doesn't have that enchantment, so it can be used by anyone.
As a Swede who grew up knowing the stories of Norse mythology, I have been WAITING for the goats for all the past Thor movies! And they didn't disappoint. 🤩 They're as cannon as Mjölner. 😉
I just wish they had made them Thor's original goats, like he recognizes them and it's a reunion, or at least him saying, I used to have giant Goats, I will name you after them or something like that. at least mention that he had them before.
My mom's about a year into remission from Stage 4 Melanoma (skin cancer that spread to her lungs, liver, spine, and brain) so Jane's story hit hard. I really like the theory that she went to Valhalla- a place you only get to go to if you die in battle- because she died in her battle against cancer. Really shows respect for the absolute war cancer wages against the body of those who have it.
My mom died from breast cancer. I put off watching this movie until I could cry at home in peace, I don't read the comics but I know plenty of people who do who warned me that this would be a rough one for me. Part of this movie that I love that a lot of people hate is when the kids get the powers of Thor and fight. My mom worked with kids and I knew she would have loved to see kids standing up for themselves and helping save the day.
i went theather with an old friend from college that i havent seen in months. we never lost touch and decided to hangout and see this movie together. my friend is a body builder and in this year before this movie he lost his mother and broke up with his gf. after the movie break i wanted to cheer him up and asked: ''from 1 to 10 how much you relate thor right now?'' we both laughed like maniacs. in a way we can say this comedy movie achieved its goal
@@LoopLife42 yo you can gtfo.I don’t care what you personally thought of the movie but talking down to someone’s tragedy like that is despicable. Do you really have nothing better to do in your sad life?
Good call on the monsters being straight out of a kid's nightmare. The kids in the movie were asked to draw a bunch of monsters, and Taika had them put into the movie.
Honestly this is one movie that I'm glad I didn't see in the cinema as it had only been a few months since I lost my dad to lung cancer and just hearing the words "stage 4" literally made me break down in tears, hell I still can't fully keep it together over a year later.
Also for the demons that were attaching the children, the director asked the kids what they thought was scary, and to draw a picture of it. Then he had those characters in their pictures brought to life as the things they (the kids) are actually scared of, and are fighting against.
18:06 The goats or from Norse Mythology. Their names are Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr or Tooth Grinder and Tooth Nasher and they pulled Thor's chariots and I just love that they incorporated them in this movie. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanngrisnir_and_Tanngnj%C3%B3str#/media/File:Thor_by_Johannes_Gehrts.jpg
@@jerem442 If you're capable of adjusting your mind and seeing it from the point of view of a Stone Giant telling the children of Asgard a story, then a lot of what is 'wrong' with the movie also becomes a bit more palatable. It makes Gorr a lot more horrifying because this is the sanitised version Korg thought wouldn't frighten kids.
A decade ago I never imagined they would implement the screaming goat meme into a comic book film, but here we are. They don't mention their names out loud, but they're called Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder. The New Asgard tour guide is Darryl Jacobson from the Team Thor one-shots parts 1 and 2. He even has his own Team Darryl short. Gorr's daughter Love was portrayed by Chris Hemsworth's real-life daughter India Rose. In fact, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, and Taika Waititi had their kids join as some of New Asgard's children. Imagine if the Guardians knew about Eternity. If they stuck around long enough, either Nebula or Peter would have wished to revive Gamora whereas Drax would bring back his wife and daughter. I didn't expect for them to be around for much of the movie, but I was hoping to at least get a teaser about where they're headed next. At least we don’t have to wait long to find out. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 premieres this weekend and it will likely arrive on Disney Plus before the end of August. (And folks, Alex has already seen the Guardians Holiday Special. That’s Patreon exclusive.) Also, if Jane and Heimdall managed to arrive to Valhalla, I wonder if original Loki also made it in. He did try to stop Thanos himself. Maybe that alone qualifies as a warrior's death to grant him entry. At least we still have his analyst double who's no different than the original. He's still our one and the same Loki. I'm not gonna lie: I was hoping for a cameo from Analyst Loki, but I guess it isn't time for the brothers to reunite just yet. Hopefully we see them together in one of the upcoming Avengers films. One's gonna be called the Kang Dynasty, and the other Secret Wars. We still have a ways to go, but the Avengers will reassemble.
They didn't really explain it very well in the movie. But, I think in the comics, every time Jane transformed into Thor using the power of Mjolnir, the amount of energy coursing through her body burned up the chemotherapy treatment inside of her. So, while she was transformed into Thor, she had the power of a god and was temporarily cured. But, every time she transformed back into Jane, her cancer came back worse because the chemotherapy was gone. That's why she ended up succumbing to her illness and dying in the end.
My mum had a stage 4 brain tumour. Its not just how sick someone gets, its the changes to the person you love personality wise that was the big one. She never was aggressive or anything but seeing an intelligent person lose the ability to think straight or struggle to put together sentences that was heart breaking
The goats are both a reference to actual Norse mythology and to the comics. In North mythology Thor has two pet goats that are immortal and can fly, he often kills them for meat on his long journeys, then brings them back to life with magic.
I will always love the little Thor plays that take place in Asguard. Matt Damon as Loki and the other Hemsworth bro Luke playing Thor. Melissa McCarthy was a funny Helena. You gotta give Chris props over all these years hes maintained one of the best physiques a God could have and at his age that is not just a couple grass shots and a jog its hard work. 💪
My little brother passed away 10 years ago. I miss him every day but what makes me really sad is that he never got to meet my daughter. He would have been a wonderful uncle to her. I subscribed yesterday after binging your MCU journey during the weekend. I love this silly movie! Jane looks awesome and yes, we have to remember that Korg is the narrator and puts his own interpretations in the story. Love from Sweden!
30:30 I actually didn't notice my first viewing that Gorr actually has shadows helping here too, making it even easier for him to hold onto the axe while knocking Thor's hands away (like Tweety Bird running out of piggies)
"this looks straight out of a kids nightmare" It's actually, exactly that. Taika actually got the children in the movie to draw the most terrifying monsters they can think of and he got his team to add them to the movie for the final cut. Kinda cool to be honest.
I read the Gorr arc in the comics after this movie dropped its trailer cuz I had never heard of the villain and people seemed to like his storyline. That was probably a mistake because the whole time I was watching this movie I just saw all the painfully obvious missed opportunities to make this movie so much cooler than it was 😢
Those opportunities may not have made sense with the story they wanted to tell or may not have been possible to do. This movie was still pretty damn cool.
To answer your question at 13:08, Marvel is really good at sticking to source material while making small changes to not make it exactly like the comics. The scene where Thor is looking at Falligar the Behemoth with Korg on top of a rock is ripped directly from the comic panel. Super cool in my opinion. Also Gorr's appearance in this movie is not what it is in the comics. In the comics he looks much more terrifying.
@@vordt4139 I'm so sad they didn't include this in the movie. It really wouldn't have been hard because we can see that practical works like with the live action Ahsoka. Then just use slight CGI for certain movements if needed.
Cancer blows; I have lost family and friends to it. My father n law last year had throat cancer and luckily pulled through. I am sorry for anyone that has or is going through it right now. You are in my thoughts.
My man with the Brink quote. Soul-Skaters for life, my dude! Team Pup and Suds all the way! 😂 It's also funny you mentioned this was just like "Out of a kid's nightmare", because the shadow monsters in this movie were actually designed by kids as what they would find scary.
What most people who hated this movie did not understand, was that it was a story told to children by Korg. It is how he made this tragic tale funny and not too scary for them and this is why the humour is sometimes a little bit displaced. I lost one of my close friends to cancer in December 2021, she fought for 18 months, she never gave up but cancer was too strong for her. I have known her since 1997 and worked with her since 2001. I miss her.
Up until hearing Alex mention he thought it was goofy and weird because Korg was telling the story it never crossed my mind. It could still be a reach but I like to believe that's the most logical reason. Regardless, I still loved the movie. Also I'm sorry to hear of your loss.
@@stevearno9726 woah, I did not say that the movie was good. I just said that most people did missunderstand it. I still think Taika, as good as he is as director, was the wrong choice for this movie. The theme of Jane dying of cancer and trying to make an impact, did call for more than just being a sidenote. Tbh, after the second time they showed up I was ready to mak Kebab out of the goats, they got on my nerves so much that I was thinking about leaving the theater.
i think the beginning up to thor and the guardians departure was a perfect way to start love and thunder but it just went down hill from there. if they got rid of the kids from the story and showed gorr actually killing other gods putting more weight and seriousness to that part it would have been perfect. And if Gorr attacked the omnipotence city that would have been the cherry on top
Wasn’t there a lot of scenes cut out of this movie? I think Taika said there’s like an extra hour or so of material that they cut of whole different worlds and stuff. I bet they had Gorr butchering Gods in those scenes, too. I personally liked the kids, I thought the end was cute and wholesome with them, but the movie did feel like a bit too much was cut out of it for me
In Marvel Comics and in the actual Norse Mythology, yes, Thor does sometimes use 2 goats to transport him throughout the galaxy. Their names are Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher. 🐐🐐 💫
My late husband, Michael. He battled melanoma for over 25 years (the doctors said he had only five years to live with Stage 4; I told them to go "F" themselves and proceeded to give him 23 more years). He ended up dying in my arms in October, 2013. I saw how the cancer ravaged his body, but left this world without heavy drugs/treatments. He is forever in my heart.
Just remember all infinity stones give off small or large amounts of gamma radiation which Hulk stated so Jane had the reality stone in her whole body makes it sound like her whole body was shutting down
YES, ALEX, THANK YOU. it seems like the majority of viewers missed the fact that this entire story/movie is being told by korg, who is very much an unreliable narrator. taika waititi isn't just some whacky dude who directs stuff, he actually has a vision that most of the time goes under the radar (jojo rabbit is also told in a similar way, a little boy's perspective of WW2.) korg's style of storytelling doesn't differ from luis's storytelling (ant-man's best-friend), which is why a lot of that shit may be exaggerated or even made-up lol because korg wasn't there for a lot of the things that went down, plus he's telling this story to children, this is the asgardian legend about the mighty thor. accuracy-wise, taika took bits and pieces from the comics such as jane's cancer and becoming mighty thor (+ her death), omnipotence city, hercules (though he joins the avengers and guardians in the comics), and the screaming goats (that are actually quite powerful in norse mythology). bonus fact: love is actually played by chris hemsworth's daughter, child thor in the beginning was one of chris's sons, and natalie portman's, taika waititi's, as well as christian bale's children are also among the asgardian youth, making it one big family experience :)
That little infinity girl at the end is actually Hemsworth's daughter. Little Thor running at the beginning is his real son and the pirate girl kissing in korg's narration is his real wife, Elsa Pataky , an spanish actress. Thor's actor in the shitty theatre act is his brother, Luke Hemsworth (the one playing Loki is actually Matt Damon in cameo and the one that plays Odin is Sam Neill from Jurassic park !!). Tell about employing family! loving it. The goats are actually true in nordic mithology!, Thor rode a cart pulled by two magical giant goats that could fly:Tanngrisnir "teeth grinder" and Tanngnjóstr "teeth thin", or "one that has gaps between the teeth", LOL
I was personally let down by "Love & Thunder", but I still had fun with it. It's just that given the talent behind the camera and in front of it, and the success of "Ragnarok", I expected this one to be just as good. But I think the comedy simply didn't land 100% the way they intended. That being said, I'm happy you had fun with it! Despite it being considered one of the worst movies in the MCU (arguably of Phase 4), I do see a lot of people really respond to the absurdity of it. I guess I'm just one of those cats that just wanna see people having a good time lol.
FINALLY! Someone gets it! One of the big themes in the comic book stories is that every story also comes from a particular point of view. We accept different writers and artists, but the universe as a whole is predicated upon some in-universe storyteller. A big powerhouse comic was "Marvels" which was all about these Earth shattering events from the point of view of a guy on the streets. This way, even the exact same event can be told very differently and you can mix the goofiest stories with the most serious ones. My advice to anyone realizing this is simply to enjoy the stories you like, and feel free to dislike others. The studios will still make more content and you will get more of what you like.
Gorr / Scarlet Witch / Green Golbin were THE best villains during phase 4.. And fun fact the little girl “Gorr’s daughter”is actually Chris Hemsworth’s daughter Irl. And Korg is played by Taika Waititi the movie’s director

You're right about this movie being weird because Korg is the one telling this story to us. Although it wasn't super clear during the movie, the director confirmed that was the case. This is probably my favorite Thor movie.
@@tomasalarconchible9729 it's a matter of preference While I do see Ragnarok still being the best Thor film, I like Love and Thunder more, especially if there's one thing that Taika really did right in this film: it's being able to bring a good lease of life and making Jane Foster an actual character and bringing light on Thor and Jane's relationship, both of which fell flat in Dark World, the very film where it almost got Chris Hemsworth to stop playing Thor and Natalie Portman not wanting to go back to playing Jane (which is understandable as she is a talented actor and this is the same lady who played Padme in the Star Wars prequels, which while flawed af, Padme held well in the prequels). Love and Thunder was flawed af, but it's overhated and nowhere close to Dark World at all and is around the same level as Thor 1.
@@kendrick5501 nope, it’s has 90% overused retarded humor and gorr/christian bale was done dirty af. The cgi was embarrassing too. Forgettable movie. Love marvel but it’s Objectively top 5 worse MCU films
@@tomasalarconchible9729 the flaws you talk about, while there, are overexaggerated and is merely a 50/50 on how the humor worked. Comedy has always been subjected, it worked for me and Alex, it didn't work for you and that's fine. Gorr was underutilized for sure, but only cause he had a way too short of a screen time and Love and Thunder being too short, which having a longer runtime would've allowed the comedic and serious moments to have more room to breath and give Gorr more screen time. Flawed yes, but not forgettable, the film gave a good arc for Thor following up Endgame and Jane became an actual character while bringing life to Thor/Jane. If you are to go for objectively worst MCU film, it'll be Dark World and The Incredible Hulk cause they were completely generic and lacking of anything, when you lack anything at all, it's how you truly become forgettable.
+1 Support for watching Ms Marvel, and the same goes for She Hulk. Both shows have their haters, which I can only interpret as being people who think the only good Marvel content is if it follows their favoured formula. Plus there's those who just hate anything Captain Marvel related because they hate Brie Larsen for speaking some truth. Also, if you don't include them you're going to be all caught up on Marvel movies in a few weeks, so you may as well see them and decide for yourself. 😀
I feel like most of the people that don't like this movie completely forgot that it is a children's story told by Korg of all people. Of course it is going to be embellished and ridiculous with him telling it!
I dunno, to me a bad movie is a bad movie regardless of how you frame it. The Room wouldn't automatically become a good movie if it was revealed at the end to be told by a preschooler who had no idea how to tell a story with a coherent narrative, would it?
My dad died of a really rare cancer, from diagnosis to his passing was four months. The last month, I watched him waste away and was unable to speak or know who any of his family were. This movie came out shortly after my sister in law was diagnosed with cancer. I'm glad I went to see it by myself as it caught me off guard. It's a weird film, but the humor counteracts the dark scenes with Gorr and the heaviness of Jane's story.
My nephew (who I helped raise) passed away from brain cancer at 13. One year from diagnosis to death. I still miss him every day. This movie doesn’t trigger me too badly because it’s an adult, but…. Damn.

Only made it a year since initial diagnosis/emergency surgery blockage/rupture of colon while we were out deer hunting.
One of the biggest things about phase 4 was that the tone shift has taken a lot of people out of the movies. I like seeing guys like you watch these because the serious comic nerd lens blinds us to the fact that these movies aren't inherently bad. They have a new shift in approach. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I'll never be mad for someone liking it. I laughed through 80% of this movie, and as a comedy adventure (STAND-ALONE), it's fun and goofy. As a continuation of narrative from what came before, it's character assassination 😆. But I had fun with it. I was entertained. I honestly think the MCU needs to die. They could do so much if they focused back on trilogy storytelling rather than big universe connections.
The movie is so crazy because it's told through Korg to a bunch of kids. Most people dont get this. It's supposed to be silly because Korg never gets things right and see's things in his own way.
Seeing Jane had cancer reminded me that my cousin had cancer, she died in October 2021. Still I had a feeling that her sprit is somehow by my side wherever I go

Not a family member but don't forget Sam Neill as Odin
How is Matt damon related
lol, he's not. but the actor that played Thor in the play is Chris' real brother.@@Garbowhat

Yep yep yep.

Oh well, maybe I’m too biter, but I hate it 😢
I just wish they had made them Thor's original goats, like he recognizes them and it's a reunion, or at least him saying, I used to have giant Goats, I will name you after them or something like that. at least mention that he had them before.
Indeed, Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr (aka teeth-barer and teeth-grinder) are the goats who pull the chariot of the god Thor.
Yes. Waititi did a great thing with that decision to send her to Valhalla. So small, but MIGHTY statement against a terrible foe.

@@jerem442 It does.
I never made that connection. Guess it makes sense. Still not a fan though.
That’s Patreon exclusive.)
Also, if Jane and Heimdall managed to arrive to Valhalla, I wonder if original Loki also made it in.
I never noticed Darryl as the Tour Guide!
That's why she ended up succumbing to her illness and dying in the end.
good riddance
My mum had a stage 4 brain tumour. Its not just how sick someone gets, its the changes to the person you love personality wise that was the big one. She never was aggressive or anything but seeing an intelligent person lose the ability to think straight or struggle to put together sentences that was heart breaking
Who ever edited the screaming scene you actually killed me for 10 minutes straight
The fact that Mjolnir can now split into numerous pieces is so damn cool
The goats are both a reference to actual Norse mythology and to the comics. In North mythology Thor has two pet goats that are immortal and can fly, he often kills them for meat on his long journeys, then brings them back to life with magic.
They're also a reference to that old meme/video with the goats screaming
Christian Bale was a good Batman, but when you watch this film, you low-key realize he'd be a great Joker as well.
I'd be down for an Austin Powers-like movie with Christian Bale playing both Batman and Joker.

I love that Love and Thunder is his daughter in real life as well. They’re so perfect together on film and so fun. It was such a fun great movie
30:30 I actually didn't notice my first viewing that Gorr actually has shadows helping here too, making it even easier for him to hold onto the axe while knocking Thor's hands away (like Tweety Bird running out of piggies)
When I was around 8 or 9 my bestfriend died because of cancer ever since I have like a weird fear of getting cancer as well
"this looks straight out of a kids nightmare" It's actually, exactly that.
Yeah, in the Comic he has two tentacles coming out of his head. Kind of like a Twi'Lek from Star Wars.
@@vordt4139 I'm so sad they didn't include this in the movie. It really wouldn't have been hard because we can see that practical works like with the live action Ahsoka. Then just use slight CGI for certain movements if needed.

What most people who hated this movie did not understand, was that it was a story told to children by Korg. It is how he made this tragic tale funny and not too scary for them and this is why the humour is sometimes a little bit displaced.

i think the beginning up to thor and the guardians departure was a perfect way to start love and thunder but it just went down hill from there. if they got rid of the kids from the story and showed gorr actually killing other gods putting more weight and seriousness to that part it would have been perfect.
I personally liked the kids, I thought the end was cute and wholesome with them, but the movie did feel like a bit too much was cut out of it for me
Stormbreaker doesn't have the same spell as Mjölnir. You don't have to be worthy to wield it. It's just really really heavy.
He is forever in my heart.
that was an enchantment placed on Mjolnir by Odin. Stormbreaker doesn't have that enchantment, so it can be used by anyone.
Just remember all infinity stones give off small or large amounts of gamma radiation which Hulk stated so Jane had the reality stone in her whole body makes it sound like her whole body was shutting down
YES, ALEX, THANK YOU. it seems like the majority of viewers missed the fact that this entire story/movie is being told by korg, who is very much an unreliable narrator. taika waititi isn't just some whacky dude who directs stuff, he actually has a vision that most of the time goes under the radar (jojo rabbit is also told in a similar way, a little boy's perspective of WW2.)
korg's style of storytelling doesn't differ from luis's storytelling (ant-man's best-friend), which is why a lot of that shit may be exaggerated or even made-up lol because korg wasn't there for a lot of the things that went down, plus he's telling this story to children, this is the asgardian legend about the mighty thor.
accuracy-wise, taika took bits and pieces from the comics such as jane's cancer and becoming mighty thor (+ her death), omnipotence city, hercules (though he joins the avengers and guardians in the comics), and the screaming goats (that are actually quite powerful in norse mythology). bonus fact: love is actually played by chris hemsworth's daughter, child thor in the beginning was one of chris's sons, and natalie portman's, taika waititi's, as well as christian bale's children are also among the asgardian youth, making it one big family experience :)
I liked this movie a lot, I'm excited to watch your reaction!
Tell about employing family! loving it.
My mom has fought cancer 3 times! 1971, 2009, 2018. Still kicking up dust in 2024 at 84 years old. I feel beyond blessed.
And Korg is played by Taika Waititi the movie’s director

how is that you like this one more than ragnarok?
@@tomasalarconchible9729 it's a matter of preference
While I do see Ragnarok still being the best Thor film, I like Love and Thunder more, especially if there's one thing that Taika really did right in this film: it's being able to bring a good lease of life and making Jane Foster an actual character and bringing light on Thor and Jane's relationship, both of which fell flat in Dark World, the very film where it almost got Chris Hemsworth to stop playing Thor and Natalie Portman not wanting to go back to playing Jane (which is understandable as she is a talented actor and this is the same lady who played Padme in the Star Wars prequels, which while flawed af, Padme held well in the prequels). Love and Thunder was flawed af, but it's overhated and nowhere close to Dark World at all and is around the same level as Thor 1.
