    Thank you for this, really insightful! Would you say it's pretty easy to get your first few lessons when you start off?
    Also does the company give you any resources to use/ do they train you in anyway? And how was the interview?
    Sorry for all the questions!

      When you start off, it depends on the time of year if you will get lessons! I started in Feb and had a few but then the influx came in May for revision. Like in September there will be lots of lessons so that will be easy to get lessons then. They do give you some online training, it explains tech issues, how to use the lesson space, maybe how to structure lessons and they have some resources for like EngLang/Lit and Maths but not many detailed ones! Interview was really easy I thought, it was around 5 minutes and I just had to talk through an answer to a question for a subject I wanted to teach and then I found out I got it relatively soon after! Don't hesitate to ask more questions!

    Thank you for this encouraging video - have just got my MSc psychology, which I'd now like to tutor in (but must build up confidence to do so online) 🌞

    Thank you so much for this! I'm about to start med school and I figured that online tutoring would be a good source of income! Thinking of doing GCSE and A level Biology and Chemistry and A level psychology! Also thinking of doing GCSE english language, but nonetheless this video was very informative!!!

    Thank you for thsi video!
    Im a recent stay at home mum and think tutoring would be a goos job for me to do in the evenings around child care. However I graduated in 2014 so have been out of education for a long time and I have no experience tutoring. I've been working in office roles since graduating
    However this is something that I think I can do (at one point i was thinking of training as a teacher). My degree is in Psychology and I have A grades at A levels Psychology and Sociology. I also have good grades in English, English lit, History and child development at GCSE. Unfortunately I dont have any friends or family at school age to practice on. I'm a little bit nervous! Are all the resources online free? How long does it take to learn a topic for a client? Any advice for me?

    Thank you for your video. To show students what you are writing and to see what students are writing, what do you use?

      MyTutor has its own lesson space, but you could just share your screen and use powerpoint/zoom

    Greetings from an American 🇺🇸 online teacher in Taipei, Taiwan 🇹🇼! What’s the PMT link that you mentioned? Does it have language teaching materials? Forgive my ignorance-I’m not familiar with the British system (GSC, A Level, etc.). Is the Exam Board a British source? Thank you 🙏

      Hi so PMT has lots of different things, mostly sciencey but seems to have some English Lit/Lang.

    Hey. Thank you for the great advice. I am thinking of doing the same, am currently a full time software engineer but don’t know wether to tuition in tuition centre or online after my 9-5 to make at least £25 10-12 hours a week but saw the pay is like £10 an hour at tutoring centres so want want to ask what platforms and what qualifications I need. Could you please give some advice I’d be really grateful. Thank you

    Hi! Thank you for encouraging video. I'm someone who wants to tutor English, but is scared to just start doing it.
    You said you show students slides and you make them yourself. Where do you show them, how it looks like??

    • @saskiahdlt
      @saskiahdlt  Рік тому

      So I upload them to a lesson space, but you can share your screen or just send them to the student

    I know this late, I just started at my tutor, and I was wondering if you registered as self employed? as the website recommend that you have to. If you did, how was the process?

    • @saskiahdlt
      @saskiahdlt  2 роки тому +1

      Yes I did, I think you only have to once you have earnt £1000+ but it was an okay process for me. The online form didnt work for me as I have a Spanish passport so I called them up and they registered me!

    This is exactly what I'm after! Got an unconditional offer for computer science at Soton, 99% I'm going to take it but I need to earn while doing studies. My area of expertise is mathematics but I have never done online tutoring (how done Real life) does Soton invite to tutor help you get students? Also do you only use your laptop or do you need more equipment? I'm really hopeful I can get a few students a week. Lastly how much do you get paid if you don't mind me asking? Loved the video!

    • @saskiahdlt
      @saskiahdlt  3 роки тому

      Soton doesn't help you get students they aren't involved in the process. I use just my laptop and headset from DSA, some people will use a graphics tablet for things like maths. I get paid between £12-20 an hour for lessons!
