The fact that they made Hiiro sing those lines is definitely intentional 😭 It's referencing that he was born to serve Rinne aka the monarch/lord of their hometown. And afaik in the event story, they say that Hiiro is very attractive when he performs Vermilion, and I think that says a lot about him knowing how to act like a soldier serving his lord because... well, he technically is one 😂 If they were following the story of Alice in Wonderland faithfully (because that's the theme of the song), it should've been queen because the playing cards serve the Queen of Hearts.

These white cards question the soldiers (aka Alkaloid) as to why they're blindly following orders from their lord. Alkaloid answers that they serve their lord as this is their devotion and duty since they were born. I think this can be a callback to Alkaloid's journey throughout the main story- instead of being soldiers just because they were forced to/ordered to (by Eichi), they are willingly taking on that role themselves. They then sing about painting the world red and black for their lord/absolute, which can mean that they want to give people direction and make them choose for themselves- like in the bridge where they sing that each and every person has their own card suit. I think "lord" here can mean different things. The most common interpretation is that the lord is referring to Rinne, as this song is Hiiro's center song and Hiiro himself sings this line. This song has altered my brain chemistry on so many levels. I could talk about the MV, the characters, and the song its self. But the lyrics are what really drives this song. This will forever be the best Alkaloid song simply bc of the amount of passion everyone put into the lyrics and the true meanings. Hiiro especially because of the references towards Rinne and his past life having to serve as his nation. Ever since I first listened to this song I fell in love with this song and I genuinely could not stop listening on repeat without getting bored. I also resonated with a lot the lyrics, especially the ones talking about “unmarked cards” which I felt like it meant people who “don’t have a purpose or direction” and then being used especially in society for not having every thing figured out. This song is is inspirational in so many ways and I just want to give Hiiro the biggest hug ♠️🥹
