It was VIDEOED, not filmed. It's a SHORT not a "short film." :-) Film, filming, and filmmaking are the most misused words in the industry. 🙂 Digital Video and film require different skill sets. Having DIFFERENT historical and TECHNOLOGICAL timelines spanning 150 years. Have pride and knowledge of the gear we use including the words that describe what we do. Our tools are Digital Video, Non-linear, and CGI. We are moviemakers, not filmmakers. We do what film wished it could. We are Videographers and/or cinematographers. 🙂 We video or are videoing, we do not film. That's the other RARE professionals who know how to use film and film cameras, like an ARRIFLEX 435 Panavision R-200 and Steenbeck flatbed film editors. Know the difference and have a better understanding of the craft. You will also stand out in an industry polluted with point-and-shoot "pros". Respect to you.✌♥
The Academy Awards for FILM editing, animated short FILM, live action short FILM, etc do not require that the films be on specific equipment. Language changes.

Would it be ok to call my motorcycle a car? Academy Awards for FILM editing, animated short FILM, live action short FILM, because they do not know the difference. It's a BIG difference. We make movies, not films. Instead of mimicking, Learn the difference and have a better understanding of the craft. Respect to you.

@@Rocketryman My comprehension of what you wrote is fine. It’s clear that you do not understand that language is descriptive, not prescriptive. In 21st century English, “movie” and “film” are interchangeable. When it is important to clarify that actual film is used, people will say a movie is “shot on film” or the camera operator “used a film camera”.
At one time, “passion” meant “pain”. But it is entirely appropriate to say you’re passionate about filmmaking in modern English. I suggest directing that passion toward something more productive than trying to prevent the evolution of language.
