Disclaimer: this arrangement was for a high school level brass quintet, with a euphonium subbing for the tuba, hence the seemingly ridiculous range. Sorry :( I agree, but this was originally arranged for my high school brass quintet, and I had to give the triple tonguing part to those who could play it! I fixed it in the updated version.

@@cole2844 It was both Trumpets and Trombones. Except one part was the French Horns and Trumpets, and near the end was only Trumpets when it raised an octave. There is a score analysis of it if you are interested. Just search Imperial March Score Analysis.

The tuba part for this one would be great on a Bass tuba, I'd use my F tuba, I feel it fits quintet more then my 6/4 CC does
As someone who has been playing tuba for a long time, that part is pretty dang high. Like I can play it, but it's really quite uncomfortable to be playing the trumpets equivalent of a high C (the Eb above the stave). I would suggest some editing could be good.

Stephen Its really quite playable but it has quite a distinct tone up there so the composer should rewrite the part as it will sound somewhat "pipey"
Stephen I believe it is optional for Euphonium too.
The software he used doesn't really account for the tone and timbre changes when playing so high... but yeah i agree, doable but it looks really scary and might not sound as desired.
wym fam its amazing to go that high. me and the other tuba player at my high school compete with each other at 4 octave Bb scale all the time and hit those notes

As a French horn player, these horn parts are great in some spots. Others like at the end with those horn runs are not fun.
hey man this is awesome! But before you write anymore tuba parts you mind picking up a tuba and trying to play that? yeah anything above an E3 is a no go for most tubas. But other wise this is awesome I wouldn't mind having a copy to help fix small errors.

Sorry, I probably should've specified in the description that my high school brass quintet currently has a euphonium player on the tuba line, so this is actually a euph part, hence the range.

this is really good, in the update verison, all u had to do was just put the trombone part and you would have been fine. but the update verison was a little worse. but other than that, amazing video
The low e flat isn’t really that possible on student level trombones keep that in mind unless the piece is for trombones with triggers but it doesn’t look like it soooo… keep that in mind
I think it’s illegal for trumpets and euphonium to have the force Melody when the horns have it. At least last I checked they did.

I can barely do a very high F on trombone, much less a G, that would kill me.
There are parts in high school bands where trombones have our 3rd octave B flat, and for this the trombone part seems pretty standard. Don't even start on the tuba part, though.

Really great job but a couples things.
1) when you first introduce the Force theme, you HAVE to write it in the Horn part. It's just not the same without it.
2) when you do write it in the Horn part (and where the Horn does play it later) write it an octave up. Most (if not all) university and professional horn players can play a high A no problem.
Just things to think about. Also, as a trumpet player, maybe you can write some of the 1st parts for piccolo trumpet. It has a nicer timber for some of the high stuff. :)
Andrew Swortzel I agree with the Horn part, as a all around brass player, but mainly Horn and trumpet, it almost physically hurts me when it isn't introduced in Horn. This arrangement was for a high school though, so keep that in mind. As far as piccolo trumpet, just no. There's no need.
as a highschooler (freshman) that plays f horn, a high A is easy. but this should not represent all horns, as i played trumpet in middle school and had a higher range (could easily hit high C, which is the C on the second ledger line if im correct. if not, it is the c i hit).
@@xander8574 Yeah I am a trumpet player and I'm probably going to double with French horn next year and when I tried it recently I could already go to like above C.
Also, make sure that your not pushing the trombone/euph parts as far as range goes. I think that is a euphonium part on the bottom staff because most of those notes would be too high for tuba. Also, if they are playing on a regular tenor trombone, that low E-flat may not be possible. On three-valve baritones/euphs that low E-flat would not be possible as well without note bending really flat.
Man get ur dynamics sorted so the tune plays out. I’ve made this mistake many times.

Generally the effect at Q is better written in 12/8 in my opinion. The same metre, basically, but most players will recognize a triplet feel better in 12/8 than 6/4.

As an trumpet player i loved the final part, especialy the idea of A-B-G G-B-G but the last G could be 1 octave higher if the trumpet player is capable for IT 😉😎

Might as well have a second trombone instead of a tuba tbh. Tuba usually aren't up high for that long. I mean if you got a good tuba player then give it a try.
