Y'all should show the name of the person talking in these podcasts on the final edit because it's hard to follow knowing who is who, but the one guy brought up one of the better points I've heard, which is perception. Perception plays a very vital roll and when you break down each exchange in slow motion and analyze the movement of each fighter, the perception, which overall will affect a judge's score, was very much in favor of Beterbiev. Which might explain the 16-12 card. I wanted Bivol to win and thought he edged it at first at the final bell but after my 2nd watch it was clear why Artur won. He was the better man. Bivol has to adopt a more effective defense in the rematch if he hopes to win. I think if he landed the same as the first fight and just was better defensively against Artur's onslaughts, he would've won. I think the defense is gonna be the biggest key for Bivol. Lionel B's Opinion is very very good. Bivol fought in some rounds in survival mode. Thats it. And the reason of Bivol didnt react the decision maybe the pain he felt after the match. He has neverr been passive in his career as in this match
Everyone is talking about the "percentages" of landed punches. But that really depends on the effectiveness of the punch. Yes, Bivol had some good clean punches and had better percentages. However, Artur's punches were way more effective and clearly hurt Bivol on multiple occasions. Secondly, even if Artur didn't "cleanly" connect with all his punches, they clearly disrupted and had Bivol backing up most of the fight. He pretty much pummeled him. Lastly, one thing no one is talking about is the complete lack of body shots Artur threw. It was basically non existent. I don't know why he chose not to attack Bivol's body because if he would've, I believe he would've KO'd Bivol. Artur needs to focus on the body to slow down Bivol and will KO him if there's a rematch.

I scored the fight a DRAW. It was incredible. I've seen the fight twice and will watch it again. It was a purist fans dream. This was a true SuperFight from 2 HOF fighters.
Hi from Down Under. I’m a 64yr old fan of boxing since I came across Australia’s first Boxing World Champion. A wonderful human being who brought our nation together. I know this post has nothing to do with this podcast, but I would love to see your thoughts on this Australian Champion, Lionel Rose here on UA-cam. Just subscribed with these great insights into future fights. Cheers mate.
I didn't watch the whole fight but from the first 4 rounds to me it looked like Bivol was being pushed back with punches and then he would let off 2-3 nice shots. I saw Artur pretty much winning then
Bivol was fighting two beasts that night. His now ex-wife that decided to reveal all his injuries, the legal battles he is going through with her and beterbiev who had a 100% knockout ratio who really needed a knockout to win according to his team. It is not like bivol fought differently because that's his style and beterbiev also fought his normal style. If you are a pure boxing fan, bivol won, if you are a pure puncher fan, beterbiev won. All in all, i think i lean towards bivol because he showed me more than just surviving against a power puncher who last five fights has not gone past the 9th round. That power was the major difference really and bivol didn't go down once. A 100% to a 50% of bivol? Give bivol some flowers.
All these discussions show that the fight was close. I am big Beterbiev fan but I felt a bit disappointed that, despite the power and the aggressively, Arthur looked a bit ineffective. All in all I think that a draw would have been more equitable
Great fight!! Two men that were not scared of each other. And it was volume versus power. Those that think bieterbiev is it in his prime just because he is older.... I disagree I think he is still in his prime because of his performance
Ultimately you have to take into account if a guy is hurt, but in that second half Bivol was definitely on his bike and not throwing as much. Round 7 was a great example of a steal round, Beterbiev just took it away after Bivol threw some crisp shots
Very good comments from both sides. Both wievs are coreect because we watched a magnificant match with 2 great boxer who showed their skills perfectly. Bivol has more clean punches but Beterbiev hurt him even with closed guard.
I think people confuse ..standing your ground and winning . The fight was indeed close if you rewatch it .until the last 2 rounds that was a straight beat down bivol was not countering anymore . The only thing I was thinking about watching it is is he going to be dropped.. it might be a draw for some but let s be honest no judge is giving you the fight after that .
Beterbiev clearly won the fight. Saw it live and he won. Saw it two other times and Bivol lost. Bivol conveyed that he was too cautious. Beterbiev look like he was man handling him. I honestly don't think it was even a close fight. I just don't understand what fight people we're watching
I can respect the decision. I had it 7-5 Bivol. I watched it twice but I still thought Bivol landed the more cleaner punches. I can still respect it. Great fight nonetheless. Bivol rounds: 1,3,4,6,7,8,9 Beterbiev rounds: 2,5,10,11,12
What I have found is that lot of experts, pundits and fighters (and retired) can’t stomach Beterbiev deemed the aggressor, pressure maulers can box on the backfoot have success with it against the favourite elite pure boxer in the sport and beat him.
It's funny how Sean who was a pressure. Aggressive fighter isn't even putting any Credit to aggression. He knows you can be aggressive the whole fight and have the other guy backpeddling and lose the fight.
Beterbiev was the better fighter in this fight. I had him winning 7/5. If we get a rematch Bivol will get destroyed. BB will press harder and Bivol will have to engage more because this loss came from his lack of defense, he ran away when the heat was applied.
I can't see the point of a rematch. Thier styles are not going to change. Beterbiev will continue to stalk Bivol and Bivol will sting him with fast punches. But the stalker will usually win. So I would rather see Benevidas fight Beterbiev because he is bigger and might stop the stalking...
Both fighters played it safe. So they both know in the rematch they will have to up the activity. That’s what’s interesting about the rematch. Benavidez has a fight lined up with Morrell, so after that fight he can take the winner.
Them guys talkin bout “ho well beterbiev was punching and Bivol felt it and moved..” Well that’s what he was supposed to do, we all know beterbiev was the stronger guys. This is called boxing not “punching” or “strongxing”. What would Bivol look like sitting there and exchanging the whole fight.. Stand 10 toes with your take Shawn.
Bivol comes from a Muslim country of Kyrgyztan and his current wife is an Arabic Muslim lady from Dubai so I don't think there was any bias towards Beterbiev because he is Muslim. That was not a factor at all, especially because His Excellency thought Bivol won.
@@Tokisamright The beard is not prohibited by the rules. Bivol also comes from a Muslim country (Kyrgyzstan) and his girlfriend is a Dubai-based Muslim lady, so I don't think religion had anything to do with the decision.
I think Bivol won by 1 rd bc he would step on the gas the last seconds Beterbiev took over the championship rounds and I think that’s what saved it from the draw .. love both fighters!!
It’s “clean” and “effective” shots.. Bivol landing the “cleaner” shots but Beterbiev landed “effective” shots. Just because a shot is clean doesn’t mean it had the effect.
I know must watching this fight was expecting a knockout. It didn’t happen due to excellent boxing. The jab and movement was key. Bivol is this best boxer. I do think he was fight a cautious fight. He is clear the best fighter Beterbiev has seen. I like Bivol for realizing he must fight a perfect fight. I predict Bivol clearly winning the rematch. Age creeps up quickly at 39 years of age unless performance enhancement drugs are involved.
After you stopped ridding biev he started doing better 😂, but thought it wasn’t gonna go the distance, the pressure made the difference maybe a lil bias with judges, could have made it a split decision atleast, tho just plays better for a Usyk rematch!
Negative Shawn we was moving cause he couldn’t make Beterbiev go back. Bivol lost clearly lost 7-5. Shawn I see your head is not functioning due to the beating you got by Crawford
Beterbiev won this fight, Bivol was smart the first 6 rounds but ongoing Beterbiev comes with his uncomfortable strong shots even though there weren’t accurate as Bivol but had more impact than bivols
I watched the fight again without the commentary and had Betertbiev winning 8-4. And I know that makes it looked wide. But all the rounds were close. Bivol’s movement is awesome, young fighters would do well to study the way he moves his feet. But Beterbiev stalked him and for me won the last minute of pretty much every round. That’s why I scored it the way I did. But that’s just my unpaid opinion
Teddy Atlas and Carl Frampton 7-5 to Beterbiev ,same as me and a lot of fans ,For me it was a massive tactical error on Bivols part. he would rack up a points lead at start of the round then chill . Then he would let Arthur gain momentum by throwing punches and coming forward for most of the round. judges are harsh towards “negative” fighters who are moving a lot backwards. Aim should be to dominate the rounds not just secure early part of them and back peddle like he was . That’s where Bivol lost that fight .
@@210tx he doesn’t throw , bivol didn’t get touched too much in this fight later he took more chances but he actually tries to win when facing a puncher. Shakur did nothing like that against de Los santos
Мы говорим о боксе, а не религии. Артур просто был лучше,несмотря на возраст и травму. Если бы он не берёг ногу, то, возможно, мы увидели бы его быстрые, летящие джебы.
Smaller boxer vs No1 killer in all bxng with fists of iron. No one stands with Artur even in amaters with Usyk. Score close rounds 10-10 and then you will see that Bivol won the bxng match
It wasn’t that it wa close beterbiev won the later rounds 2-3 10-12 won the last 2 on a close fight he was up 2 rounds coulda been a draw but Bivol was trying survive the last 5 minutes of the fight

*4B* (Very close round, Bivol landed combinations Artur pressed the action, and finished the round strong)
*5A* (Another very close round, a lot of shots were blocked by both fighters. Artur slightly landed more towards the end)
*6A* (Walking him down, consistent, landing heavy leather esp to the body, blocking most of Bivol's attacks, Bivol not active)
*7A* (Could have been a Bivol round but Artur landed heavy shots in succession, he hurt Bivol who shelled up the whole time)
*8B* (Extremely close round, could have gone either way; the flurry at the end, though blocked, edges it to Bivol? It could have easily been an Artur round, landing the heavier shots, but Bivol was active in this round, too and stood his ground. Close round.)
*9B* (As beautiful of a round for Bivol as he was in the 1st and 2nd-ACTIVE, stood his ground, picked his shots, defended well.)
*10A* (Strong round by Artur, pressed the actions, Bivol landed about 2 shots, extremely inactive. Maybe recuperating from the 9th round?)
*11A* (Artur is a Machine, strong round.)
-This is the only time they are showing highlights from Artur Beterbiev. When you know you know 😉. Matchroom and the DAZN doing some visual manipulation.
*12A* (Artur is a machine, strong round again. Bivol was melting there. He never experienced anything like that in his life.)
-I think that's why he accepted the loss with ease, respect and honour.

Bivol won that fight
I rewatched the fight 2 times with the volume turned down betervive won that fight.
We're changing how we score fights now?
Saw it twice. First felt like a draw, but wasn't mad with the decision. 2nd viewing I clearly saw Beterbiev edge it out.
Just one question… if they had 3 more rds, who would have won you think? That’s it, game over
Beterbiev will need to rest 1 rd with low count punches. then 2 rd with aggression
I can respect the decision. I had it 7-5 Bivol. I watched it twice but I still thought Bivol landed the more cleaner punches. I can still respect it. Great fight nonetheless.
Bivol rounds: 1,3,4,6,7,8,9
Beterbiev rounds: 2,5,10,11,12
If bivol was granted the decision I wonder what the post fight commentary would be
AB won ....you cannot win a fight running so much - Bivol was running from round 5 . AB controlled the fight from Rd 4
What I have found is that lot of experts, pundits and fighters (and retired) can’t stomach Beterbiev deemed the aggressor, pressure maulers can box on the backfoot have success with it against the favourite elite pure boxer in the sport and beat him.
Beterbiev has simple skill. power pressure is the problem.
It's funny how Sean who was a pressure. Aggressive fighter isn't even putting any Credit to aggression.
He knows you can be aggressive the whole fight and have the other guy backpeddling and lose the fight.
Yeah because there's aggression, and then there's "effective" aggression
Beterbiev won, and it did not have SHT to do with him being Muslim!!
Why are they bringing up Beterbiev religion like Bivol isn’t Muslim too
That black due with the Nike hoody didn’t watch the fight. He is like Eddie Hearn made a bet on Bivol and lost so now he is salty.
Shout out to Shawn and Lonnie b luv them both real men
Whoever scored Bivol was watching Dazn commentary , those guys were so so biased in their analysis.
Not too many can go the distance with Beteriev.
Bivol is the first….. he never gonna be the same, like all other before…..
Bivol goes to deep
Them guys talkin bout “ho well beterbiev was punching and Bivol felt it and moved..” Well that’s what he was supposed to do, we all know beterbiev was the stronger guys. This is called boxing not “punching” or “strongxing”. What would Bivol look like sitting there and exchanging the whole fight.. Stand 10 toes with your take Shawn.
Bivol comes from a Muslim country of Kyrgyztan and his current wife is an Arabic Muslim lady from Dubai so I don't think there was any bias towards Beterbiev because he is Muslim. That was not a factor at all, especially because His Excellency thought Bivol won.
dude, you forgot the beard, man, so that makes him more muslim than the Muslim right .
that's why beterbiev got the leg up in Saudia 😊
@@Tokisamright The beard is not prohibited by the rules. Bivol also comes from a Muslim country (Kyrgyzstan) and his girlfriend is a Dubai-based Muslim lady, so I don't think religion had anything to do with the decision.
I think Bivol won by 1 rd bc he would step on the gas the last seconds Beterbiev took over the championship rounds and I think that’s what saved it from the draw .. love both fighters!!
Rematch will be a nightmare for Bivol fans... Artur has almighty with him all the time when everyone wrote him off
I didn’t know Ashton Kutcher watched boxing am I getting punkd
Beterbiev 7-5, he took the 2nd half of the fight,Bivol did a good job,But Beterbiev hurt him numerous times,in my opinion he clearly Won 7-5!
It’s “clean” and “effective” shots.. Bivol landing the “cleaner” shots but Beterbiev landed “effective” shots. Just because a shot is clean doesn’t mean it had the effect.
AB won, did think judges would have Bivol winning. I scored it 114-113 AB won cos of front foot and sheer aggression simple.
Why are u bringing Adrian Broner in the equation?
Beterbiev 115-113. Can’t believe some calling this a robbery, I watched with the sound off because I heard it was a little bias.
Feed em to Jai Opetaia, the mans vicious.
How Shawn gonna say 116-112 wass terrible then say I had it 8-4😂😂😂that is 116-112😂😂
beterbiev had a bad knee. his cardio wasn't normal probably because he didnt get to train right. in the rematch he smokes bivol
Bivol 7-5.
Idk he lost rounds 10,11,12 so ur saying beterbiev only won 2 rounds 1-9?
After you stopped ridding biev he started doing better 😂, but thought it wasn’t gonna go the distance, the pressure made the difference maybe a lil bias with judges, could have made it a split decision atleast, tho just plays better for a Usyk rematch!
Negative Shawn we was moving cause he couldn’t make Beterbiev go back. Bivol lost clearly lost 7-5. Shawn I see your head is not functioning due to the beating you got by Crawford
Beterbiev won this fight, Bivol was smart the first 6 rounds but ongoing Beterbiev comes with his uncomfortable strong shots even though there weren’t accurate as Bivol but had more impact than bivols
it has nothing to do with islam
Beterbiev said Dimitri also a champion, but you can not win with back foot
Not if Shakur Stevenson does it . They love it when he does it
@@2010frankiegWell Shakur doesn’t get touched so yeah it ain’t the same
@@210tx he doesn’t throw , bivol didn’t get touched too much in this fight later he took more chances but he actually tries to win when facing a puncher. Shakur did nothing like that against de Los santos
Bivol won easy. Beterbiev was completely ineffective giing forward. His corner knew and the look on his face he knew it too lol. 116-112 Bivol.
just look at Bivol's face will tell you who won.
Well with that being said he better agree that GGG should have won that 1st fight with Canelo. Especially wearing that shirt.
Shawn tripping 8-4 Bivol? 😮 8-4 for Beterbiev isn't crazy as people making it to be. I see 8-4 for Artur
Run rabbit run rabbit run run run
To my mind ,if the fight took place in las vegas, bivol would get the score card,i am muslim too however , i m sure judges scored it wrong
Why do people keep talking about Beterbiev won because he is Muslim. Bivol is Muslim too! 🙈
Мы говорим о боксе, а не религии. Артур просто был лучше,несмотря на возраст и травму. Если бы он не берёг ногу, то, возможно, мы увидели бы его быстрые, летящие джебы.
Bivol is a Orthodox Christian
Nothing to do wth religion in sport...its discipline, hardwork, talent and little bit of luck to win in sport.
That t shirt says it all....no thax
Madrimov muslim. Why didnt he get the muslim cooking 😂
Fight was in Los Angeles lol
Because he clearly lost
I disagree wit Lonnie B more than what anybody said
Its like canelo vs ggg 1 , but beterbiev way more better than ggg pressure
*Wow, Porter is tripping, what fight was he 👀watching? No way Bivol won the first 5 or 6 rounds 🤔 😳 was Porter drunk?* 😬
when Bivol put the glove to his face as barrier, its similar to Floyd Mayweather avoiding punches with shoulder roll. part of defence skill.
@un1vids *But, with Mayweather's shoulder roll he wasn't getting hit, did you see Bivol's face, he didn't do a great job of avoiding punches!!!* 🙄😬
@@cooljc26 he wasn't getting hit clean obviously he was blocking punches, you must be blind
@@un1vids exactly its clear Bivol won,
@Martin199320 *He definitely got hit with clean shots, you have to be blind as a bat!!!* 😕🙄😬
Skil --> Bivol💪✨
