I realized this isn't something I want to do myself, what should I expect to pay to switch out the video card? Great video.... Thank YOU
You are very welcome. So the price depends on the hourly rate of each repair shop. This job should not take any more than 1 hour for a good technician, plus the parts which could be found on eBay for under $100. You can't get new parts for this iMac, so your only option is to get a good used one from eBay.
Hey, nice repair, i wanted to comment on one thing, dont use thermal paste on ram chips like that, the correct thing to do here is to just remove any leftover thermalpads from the old cooler and add new ones or just leave them as is if they fit
Very good point, I love constructive criticism, because that is how I improve and do better. Thanks for taking the time to point that out.
Great Video my friend.
Thank you 👍
Great help for the techy, can I ask you if you can turn a Garmin nuvi 2797 LM into a Garmin nuvi 2797 LMT by adding the LMT power cord or can it be done another way?
I haven't heard of any LMT power card, but you can do that by adding the GTM power cord such as Garmin GTM60 Traffic Cable.
Hi, neat video. After 2Ati gpus failure, i wish to place a non stock Ati GPU... is it possible?
Thanks you, so unfortunately these are very proprietary boards and installation of third party Graphics card is not possible
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 i just saw some clips with users that have done it.
@@giorgos7six I have seen that too, but one of my guys at our computer shop tried to do it, and he ended up shaving off the heatsink with a metal grinder because it was sticking up too high.
There should be a GPU that would fit without shaving and then a flash in the video bios should be needed I guess… but then again I guess it would be worth to revive such an iconic computer.
@@giorgos7six It's true that the computer is indeed an iconic and collectible piece. However, you can find the original Apple GPU all over eBay, so why would you want to try an aftermarket Graphics Card anyway? When we did this long ago, the original card was not available, but now the market is flooded with used Apple iMac parts.
