- National Guard troops have arrived in Los Angeles after being called up by President Trump to crack down on two days of protests over immigration enforcement raids.

Demonstrators have again clashed with riot police as they tried to stop enforcement officers detaining people.
Meanwhile, Mr Trump and his team have launched a war of words with the senior Democratic politicians in California who have been criticising the way the government's immigration policy is being enforced.

The more efficient way to handle this would be to send enough troops to completely lock down Los Angeles County under martial law. The troops could seal all roads leading out and protect ICE while they conduct door to door searches of every building. Greyhound buses could be commandeered from across the county to transport the undocumented to detention centers where they might or might not receive due process before being deported. The troops could finish their mission in time to march in Trump's birthday parade.

In comparison to this. You had a handful of bad actors but a lot of what you saw were people inside the Capitol walking around as if they were on a tour. People were staying within the velvet ropes and looking around pointing at the artwork. It was a bit surreal. I was supposed to go to the Capitol on January 6th but I worked the night before and had a headache in the morning so I stayed home with my 2 iPads watching what was happening outside. Trump was still giving his speech when the Capitol police swung open one of the gates and told people to walk on in. I was shocked! I was hoping he would hurry up with his speech because things were happening at the Capitol. No one had guns or was defacing the Capitol except for Nancy Pelosi’s office and a few other offices. Really not much of an 'insurrection' but a demonstration.
